Opinion: Bought used at a very good price ( 400€ ) on the market, to have a std zoom for the Z fc. Not that the 16-50 is bad, on the contrary, but not very bright yes. The footprint between 16-80 + FTZ + lens hood although changed with HB-75 is remarkable but well balanced, suitable for all circumstances, from indoor portrait to outdoor events. The best performance at the widest apertures but up to f11 no diffraction. The AF is very good, responsive, area wide, it locks the eye or the face and does not let go. Excellent or very good up to the edges, a bit of thoughtful landscaping on a tripod can be done. Since it lacks native fixed Z dx is a valid alternative.

Opinion: Room: D7500 Excellent all-rounder taken as a replacement for the 18-140 that had never convinced me. So, after selling the zoom kit, I decided to buy this lens. In comparison to the other, the leap in quality is definitely evident on all focal lengths (as well as the price, which justifies this excellent lens for DX). The only moles are the fact that the stars are not really the maximum at f / 2.8 (defect that disappears at f / 4, but you lose a whole stop!) and that the hood is really bulky and impractical. Would I regain this goal? Certainly, without a doubt.
