Pros: sharpness, good contrast, versatility, relative compactness and weight, focus accuracy, price,

Cons: servo focus and tracking not as fast as similar canon L lens

Opinion: This is my 2nd lens as the 1st lens had focus issues. Very pleased with this lens. Very sharp with good contrast at Max aperture 6.3 ( very slight improvement at F8 ) at 400mm which is where it is used mostly. Focus is quick and precise, good for slow moving everyday subjects. However tracking is slower than my canon 400mm 5.6 lens, which is to be expected. Any bird in flight or fast moving photography I use the canon lens which is fantastic, however it has limitations with close focus at 14 feet and no image stabilisation. This is when the Tamron lens takes over. This is a joy to use and I find myself using it the majority of times when I want reach and versatility. I would recommend this lens.

Pros: Handling, sharpness, stabilization, all excellent in relation to the price (even more than used)

Cons: For now, the only defect detected is the absence of the tripod ring, an additional cost, although perhaps not essential

Opinion: Bought used in perfect condition at just over half the price as new. No need for adjustment, not even the fine one offered by the camera body (tested on both 6DII and 80D). I found it extremely manageable and manageable even without a tripod, also thanks to the very efficient stabilizer. I held it for about 15 minutes while standing waiting for the Mallard, which I posted in the gallery, to flail its wings, and I must say that I did not feel any discomfort. I found the autofocus very similar to the Canon EF 70-300 IS USM II, judged by many to be ultra-fast thanks to the particular motor it is equipped with. I can also say the same about sharpness, perhaps with a slight advantage in favor of the Tamron. So I would say that, for what little I have been able to try, I fully agree with the various reviews found on the net, in which I have heard this lens praised from all points of view, judging it second (but not by much) only to the Canon EF 100-400 L IS USM II, which by all accounts is the number one in the category, unfortunately also as a price....!

Pros: Nobody

Cons: Unresponsive and inaccurate autofocus, non-existent stabilizer, strong vignetting, chromatic aberrations

Opinion: Used for more than a year in combination with a Canon EOS90D for dynamic subject photography (cars, planes, birdlife) Weight and dimensions are in line with the same focal lengths of other brands. The stabilizer is practically non-existent, you have to continuously press halfway on the shutter button to hang up the subject but every time the stabilization is lost immediately. The autofocus is poorly responsive, it cannot follow the movements of fast objects and when it succeeds the subject has already left. Often the autofocus goes into lockdown and even pointing to a well-defined and distant subject does not move, in addition to the fact that every now and then it goes crazy and slides back and forth the entire focal length. I also noticed these flaws on another Tamron lens, an 18-200, so the only solution is to turn the camera off and on again. Problems I never had with original Canon lenses and are the reason why I consider my experience with Tamron lenses over. Chromatic aberrations are present, but these can be corrected in postproduction. The vignetting is very strong already observing the photos normally, if you then do the equalization of the photos you realize the phenomenon. It is not very bright, but for the money it costs you can not expect better. Suitable only for photography of static subjects. It is not worth the money it costs, I do not recommend it.

Pros: Sharpness, weight, excursion and blurry

Cons: Given the price none

Opinion: In my opinion it is worth more than it costs. The sharpness is equal to a fixed with the difference that you go from 100 to 400 on all focal lengths does not lose anything. Handy, I use it when I want to travel light as a replacement for the Nikon 200-500 in my opinion less sharp. I mount it on both D500 and D750 very sharp on both. I find it much better even than the 300 PF. Slightly dark but actually a little and then being of good quality in post production you can increase the brightness without losing details. The color Tends slightly to magenta but shooting in raw then with the post you fix everything easily. Also perfect for making some portraits at 100mm and F / 4.5 the close-ups amazed me with an excellent detachment between the subject and the blurred and even in the macro field I was satisfied by having a good minimum focusing distance it manages to get very close with very good results. The three-foot ring do not give it supplied but I find it useless as it shoots very well without. I absolutely recommend it!!

Pros: light, handy, very sharp and with excellent blurry.

Cons: maybe not very responsive in autofocus, but these are finesses. non-standard tripod ring.

Opinion: I have been using it for 2 years and I personally found myself very well, for my needs. I find it very sharp, in line with the technical reviews I have seen and with a great blur (bokeh). I have no problem with the speed of autofocus (for superfasts suitable for bird photonaturalism you have to look at something else, much more expensive). I find a fall in style the lack of tripod ring not included in the package. Otherwise very good as far as I'm concerned.
