Pros: Dimensions. It can be fitted with filters. Pleasant feeling like in the old Nikon Ai-s

Cons: Mediocre sharpness. Very pronounced coma at TA. Color rendering

Opinion: After seeing enthusiastic reviews on youtube (the usual brands?), I decided to buy. Found the right moment on amazon I got it with a discount of more than 30%. First try, like all my lenses, the bell tower in front of my house. Old, very old, with lots of details in the bricks and clocks. A real disaster. Really poor sharpness in the center, and then further degrades at the edges where there are other architectural elements (houses) able to provide food for thought. Returned immediately and repurchased a second copy always on amazon (they didn't send me the same I'm sure). Identical result. In a moment of madness I decided to keep it to try in the future to re-evaluate it. Which I did, maintaining the same judgment. Put up for sale here on juza, after a few days I was ashamed of myself and took it down. Placed at rce where I got not much less than what I paid thanks to the fact that it was really indistinguishable from the new Will I have been unlucky with two not perfect copies ? (far from being acceptable...) . It may be, reading other positive reviews here as well. But if I have to compare it for example to my 20mm Z 1.8, despite being very different focal lengths, the difference is abysmal, even in terms of color rendering.

Pros: sharpening from TA, can mount both screw and slab filters

Cons: Laowa product quality control uneven, you could run into non-perfect specimens, check your purchase right away

Opinion: I update to the review of Laowa 15 following a repair by the manufacturer. Pre-intervention review: Excited by the performance of the little brother Laowa 7.5 f2.0 for MFT, I wanted to try the 15 mm for FF. As an optician it is very interesting, for the fact that it is compact, for the focal point that goes well with landscapes, architecture and starry skies and for the possibility of mounting screw filters. For the daytime photo, closing the diaphragm from f4 up the sharpness is good. For the night photo, at f2.0 the coma on the stars is present, closing at f2.8 goes better Post-assistance update: the rendering of the optics has always been good but has never convinced me at all. One day I ran tests and realized that my specimen was decentralized. I then sent the sample photos to the retailer, who told me to send it to them for service. It took a couple of months because apparently the optics were sent back to the manufacturer. Anyway, they sent him back TO PERFECT. I do not know if they replaced it or if they repaired it, however, all the defects visible especially in TA have disappeared. In conclusion, what should we say? From the point of view of product quality control, maybe Laowa leaves a little to be desired, it is not the first time that I hear of decentralized optics of the Chinese house, you have to be "lucky" to fish the right specimen and still send back any assistance defective specimens as long as they are covered by warranty. Tornado in optics, we can say that the Laowa 15 as it is now, after assistance, is unimpeachable, is sharp and contrasted and fully meets expectations for a view of this level

Pros: Built well, virtually absent distortion, very good detail in the photos within 10 meters, bright, possibility to use 100 mm slab filters

Cons: Coma and chromatic aberration well present up to F4 at least, little detail from the APSC boundary outside with focus from 10 meters to infinity

Opinion: Just discarded I liked how feel to the touch, solid with a nice focus ring, sure it is metal and so it is cold to touch in these periods that can be annoying if used bare hand, I found very tapered and uncomfortable to use because you are close But the attack of the mount and then it is difficult to change the aperture if not moving the fingers of the right hand (at least for how I imfist the cameras and then I have long fingers), nice compact and not too heavy, excellent that you can mount filters to Slab without the need for special attacks, excellent brightness F2, I recommend it for indoor photos where the distortion almost nothing helps and has good detail for close shots (up to 5/10 meters), for landscape is not the maximum (but I also read on test sites that Detect this weakness on other specimens) and pulls out the language and detail, especially at F2, f2.8 and F4, apart from the center, the detail of the photos from the area "APSC" to the edges becomes for me is absolutely unsatisfactory so much that at F2 and f2.8 seems broken , up to 10 meters no problem, indeed, but otherwise, for landscape I recommend to go on well more performant goals (Zeiss 18 Batis) or his brother Laowa 12 f2.8 with adapter, weak to f2.8 but from F4 onwards is absolutely better (and is also 12 mm...)

Pros: Very bright, possibility to use plate filters without special fittings, solid and robust, virtually no distortion

Cons: Coma visible up to af: 4

Opinion: This lens is breathtaking, luminous and practically free of distortion. The fact that it is specifically designed for attack E makes it compact. You can use 100x100 sheet filters, or regular screw filters, as the hood can be removed. For night photography is a great lens, it has a coma slightly higher than the other "typical" lenses (see samyang 14mm f: 2.8 and Samynag 14mm XP). Excellent resolution, though slightly lower than that of the Samyang XP series. Wonderful contrast. rnrnFor landscapers, architecture and night photos is a must
