Pros: Brightness, sharpness, manageability and price. It is an ART.

Cons: Maybe the weight and the cap that does not close easily.

Opinion: I have owned this wonderful lens for more than a year now and I have been able to appreciate it in various situations: street, landscape, various events. I was finally able to tell the story of street life in a clear and sharp way in one shot and that was what I wanted to achieve: excellent depth of field. In addition, this Sigma Art gives its best in night shots, in situations of little natural light and / or with artificial lighting. As soon as I tried it I had the feeling of a great solidity due to the excellent, solid and non-pasty construction materials and these are the reasons, in my opinion, that justify their weight. Another point to its advantage over the competition: the price.

Pros: Constant 1.8 f brightness, sharpness, build quality

Cons: not received

Opinion: We cannot speak of 18-35 individually but in my opinion we must evaluate it together with its worthy partner, Art 50-100 f 1.8. Optics of excellence for those who have a robust and performing apsc body, really allow you to make the most of even the densest sensors. Record brightness, unparalleled optical performance, great sharpness and a color palette that is not cold but rather pastel. Fast AF, a minimum of physiological vignetting at TA, which is also pleasant. Both are "only" 2x zoom and also one from telephoto to telephoto and the other from wide angle to wide angle, moreover without the additional lenses that would have imposed a possible VR. Everything is paid with really important size and weight but this can not be considered a defect, with those characteristics the project specifications can not provide anything else. What can I say, in Nikon (which is what I know) with these two zooms you build a winning combination with the formidable D500 (maybe with battery grip to stabilize it), something that will never make you regret a full frame! For other lightweight bodies (D7200, D7500 etc.) I see better the classic nikon 16-80, more suitable for that class. The caps are the shameful ones of all time, to be replaced immediately perhaps with those nikon. And to close the usual recommendation: the Art are super performing lenses with an incredible quality-price ratio, but DO NOT BUY THEM if you are not going to spend time calibrating them with the dock station, you would be disappointed. And in this case, being zoom, estimate at least two or three hours if you are good ...

Pros: Sharpness, brightness and well built

Cons: Non-tropicalized

Opinion: Purchased used after reading many reviews, I use it on a Nikon D7200 and I was really surprised by the quality of the files that you can get with this lens, I find it really fantastic, sharp, bright and in my opinion well done, the focal length a little reduced does not give me any problem also because they are the ones I use most, The missing stabilizer does not feel the need at all while if it was tropicalized it would have been from 10 and praise, it is not very light as a lens for APSC but not too heavy, I personally also find the hood well done because it hooks really well and you do not have the risk of losing it while carrying over the shoulder. I must admit that at the beginning I lost a few hours to calibrate the autofocus well via dock station sigma also because I'm not an expert, but now I'm going great. I consider it among the best lenses for apsc cameras.

Pros: Very high sharpness, brightness, excellent blurry

Cons: Autofocus with Canon SLR, weight, lack of tropicalization

Opinion: I write this review after a few years of use on Canon Eos 7D. I confirm the exceptional sharpness, already at f/1.8 - f/2.0, which allows it to be used in low light conditions or for night scenes. I tried to make prints even 60x40, and those made with this lens are among those with more detail, among the various that I printed, even with Canon L series lenses. I found myself very well both for starry skies, but also to photograph the fireflies, where the wide opening was fundamental to highlight the light trails well. It's true, it has a poor focal range, if you think of it as a standard lens. In my case, however, for a 360-degree use (natural landscapes, nocturnal, portraits) I rarely missed those 15 mm of travel on the canvas side, obviously without thinking of using it for narrow portraits. Weight is important, but you get used to it and it doesn't upset the balance of the paired with the camera. The biggest flaw, on Canon SLR, is the autofocus, decidedly slower than the lenses of the parent company, and sometimes inaccurate. Using the USB Dock improves things a bit, but it doesn't eliminate the root of the problem. Consider taking some replicas of the shots you care about most, refocusing. The problem is that the inaccuracy is not easily categorized, even if it presents itself more with high-contrast scenes. I repeat, my ratings are on Canon 7D, I do not know if on the most recent APS-C SLR is different. Now I switched to Eos R5 (mirrorless), I tried to mount it, and what can I say. From this point of view the lens has been reborn. Higher autofocus speed (always less than Canon lenses), but above all surgical precision. It could be a great investment if ever a mirroless Canon APS-C came out in the future, where such a lens would truly be spectacular, if the autofocus were like that of the R5. There are not many such strategic lenses in terms of brightness and focal range at the moment. In summary, having to replace it with a fullframe lens moves me a sense of strong nostalgia, sum up. I believe that this is enough as a final assessment.

Pros: Sharpness, brightness, not excessive weight

Cons: The usual cap that never closes at the first as most of the goals on the market.

Opinion: Very high sharpness especially in the center already at the most open diaphragms. At slightly lower edges, but only on shorter focal points, on the others the center-edge difference difficult to see in real use. The weight does not seem excessive, especially when compared to other lenses of the Art series that I have tried, and I do not say this because it is enough to read it from the characteristics, but it is obvious that compared to art for full frame it is much more manageable. Despite being a lens for APS-C sensors, Sigma seems to have 'foreseen' it also for the APS-H format of the Sigma SD Quattro H on which I mounted it, in fact the vignetting is not there in the sense that, when you see, it is the same that you would default even on APS-C and resolves in a moment. This causes the SD Quattro H to become about 24-50, not bad as a landscape and portrait focal set which with f/1.8 is a lot of fun.
