Opinion: I bought it at the end of January and I use it with the Z 800 F 6.3 VR S. Impeccable construction as well as compactness. Noticeable, but not dramatic, drop in sharpness more noticeable against the light than in favorable light. Also excellent in terms of blur, it does not alter the bokeh of the lens with which I use it. I highly recommend it because it's always better than doing some hard crops. I was positively surprised by the operation of the AF, which I did not expect to remain so performing, perhaps thanks to the Z8 on which I use it. Lately I also use it on the 100-400 and I must say that the drop in sharpness is really minimal, a product of impeccable quality!

The drop in performance side sharpness and speed af is really minimal and I still find myself only 1/3 of a stop darker than my 80-400. From my experience I can say that the 400 f4.5 with 1.4x is a span above the 80-400 smooth in every respect. The next purchase I think will be the 2x always to be used on the 400f4.5
