Pros: Sharp, fast and accurate Autofocus, lovely tiny DOF

Cons: Maybe the Weight but don't care about that. Freehand shooting with the 2,8/400L is a good Workout.

Opinion: My Copy arrived yesterday (Nov. 2018), good Conditions, just the Hood needs some Care (little Crack). Only tried it out for one Hour so far and just love it! I will use it mostly for fury Animals in Nature and Shootings, and for Equitation Sports in larger Arenas where the 70-200 or 120-300 isn't long enough. Hope to get Arms like Popeye over Time.

Pros: Excellent, fast performance. Now quite cheap second hand.

Cons: Heavy, heavy, heavy.

Opinion: Wouldn't swap it, love it, cause it just works. IS isn't a benefit when using a monopod so you don't miss it. A second hand one is well worth getting if you can find one. Once you have used one, you'll wonder why you didn't buy one before, it just does the job perfectly. I had always avoided buying one because of the weight but now I have one just wouldn't be without it for indoor athletics or any pitch sport, from athletics, rugby, hockey or even football, which I simply can't stand, but helps pay the bills.
