Pros: Build quality. Sleek design. Not really a lot of difference between having this mounted on the camera with my 120-300 S Sigma or the naked lens and of course it gives me a cheap way to get 600mm at least for portrait style wildlife shots and action that is not super fast. From what I have seen I would rate this ahead of the 2xTC's from Canon and Nikon when mounted on a 300mm prime lens especially when mounted on my Nikon D750. Others of course will disagree : ) Photo's taken after March/April would give a better indication of the performance as the Nikon d7100 required a AF fine tune of +19 before I started to get the most out of the lens/TC combo. Nikon D750 has not needed any adjustments.

Cons: Birds in flight I prefer the 1.4TC but I can still get pretty good BIF shots with the 2xTC

Opinion: OK, even the very best TC is going to be some sort of compromise over a prime that gives you the same focal length no matter how small that compromise may be. But if we are strickly talking about how this TC performs, I rate is as excellent. Also gives you a bargain 600mm that still renders satisfying detail/sharpness and color even at full zoom. Please remember this TC will currently only perform on a select few Sigma lenses so please see Sigma's website for compatabilty.
