Pros: Photographic rendering, sharpness already at TA, absence of distortions, bokeh.

Cons: I can't find any.

Opinion: Spectacular lens. It reminds me a lot of the Fuji 14 f2.8, which is yes autofocus, but over a less bright stop than this Voigt. And for the great brightness it has it is really small, as per the tradition of the brand. Whether it is MF then has little importance, a 21 at f 5.6 in hyperfocal already has everything in focus. I use it on my A7IV with adapter and I'm really excited about it. It has a particular rendering, its own character, which give the image a beautiful look almost like film. Very beautiful both colors and blurred. The starry light points, in addition to the great correctness of the distortion, close the circle. Defects for now I have not found, so for me it deserves the highest marks.

Pros: Weight, construction, sharpness and no distortion

Cons: nobody

Opinion: This was a lens that surprised me. I use it mainly on Leica M (typ240) but also on Nikon Z6. Solid construction, all metal and glass like the optics of the past. Sharpness accepted throughout the frame even when open, it becomes an f2.8 blade where the sharpness in the center and edges is uniform. Almost absent distortion, which for a 21mm is crazy. Really small weight and size, compared to the Zeiss 21mm f2.8, which I had in the past weighs 200gr less and is much smaller, despite being brighter as well as being aspheric. Sliding rings and diaphragms advancing 1/2 stops with a nice click, with 10 slats turning the light points into a beautiful star. Relatively low cost for the category.

Pros: very sharp lens, compact but bright, despite the focal distortions are ridottissime.Il diaphragm blades 10 allows you to turn any source of light in a star already from very large apertures. Product for Leica M, goes to confront optical excellence, where standards are quite high. rn

Cons: I detect a hint of CA, but in Lightroom are all possible corrections. Manual focus if it can be considered an 'against', but are about to leave the Techart rings which turn into auto focus (will see) rn

Opinion: I found using the zoom, which much more often this use than the classic focal 24.Ho therefore decided to accompany the Sony A7r2 21 with this compact and bright. Not many lenses of this focal length at that brightness, so compact. Unlike other Voitglander for Leica M this is a modern lens, the problems of the proximity of the rear lens to the sensor are resolved. I found a test that compared it to the Leica Summilux and clearly wide open at the edges were not comparable, but stopping down as the diminishing differences .... (we are talking about a target to 6500 euro) .rnIo are satisfied, very crisp, distortion almost absent (!) works well already at full aperture, and for what it's worth on a 21 also has a nice boken.rnUtilizzo convenient adapter ring Voitglander (125g) which allows to decrease the minimum focusing distance fire, from the nominal 00:50 the door at about 0:20. rnHo noticed using it with CA A7II some problem with A7rii I have not seen this problem, yet easy to work outible for the post, Lightroom provides fixes for all the work and Voitglander bene.rnrnÈ finally arrived the Techart Pro ring, now all my Voitglander manual have become autofocus, including this beautiful 21mm luminoso.rnL'anello requires the initial procedure for recognizing the focal length, in practice must be set on the machine a diaphragm that is coupled to the focal length, this also allows the off the initial stabilization. Unfortunately, we must fully open the iris on the Sony and close it as optics hand to get a correct exposure otherwise the Sony overexpose, but this involves only the wrong metadata, no operational problem. Operation is also good hooks quickly in difficult conditions, sometimes breaks down in extremely contrasting light conditions. Appearance a connecting ring to use all my lenses vintage with several attacks by Leica M, at which point they will all, wanting autofocus! Rn
