Pros: Versatility, focal range, good quality, powerful AF

Cons: VC stabilizer that works well but to date conflicts on Fujifilm with cameras that have internal stabilization

Opinion: I bought this lens as an all-rounder in case one of my lenses should break or go to service, at 17mm and at 70mm at f/2.8 I don't say it's unusable but the photos are decent, at f/4 it improves the whole situation a bit on any focal length. I wrote to Tamron to report a problem with the VC, in practice on Fujifilm cameras equipped with internal stabilization the VC of the lens conflicts, in practice the photos are blurred paradoxically, disabling the stabilization of the camera (that of the lens you can't) the situation improves and the VC of the lens behaves very well I would say. I hope Tamron resolves by signing this conflict.

Pros: Focal range, brightness, minimum MF distance, stabilization.

Cons: Not very compact, vacuum cleaner.

Opinion: Certainly the most versatile lens I own at the limit of macro. Very good image rendering except for some compromises. Stabilization, etc. certainly a lens to buy. But be prepared to have dust behind the front lenses. Actually, I didn't know if it was a problem of my specimen but I read online that it is not an unknown problem. So consider that. Of course, if you keep it in a dry environment there are not so many contraindications but with a view to resaleability meh...

Pros: focal range, very bright, tropicalization, good colors, ...

Cons: at extreme focal lengths it is not accurate, distortion and vignetting at 17mm and softness and sharpness at 70mm

Opinion: A lens that I am very happy about, it is an all-rounder that fills my focal length needs, even with very good results. It is bright enough to be able to shoot even in less than perfect conditions, it has tropicalization, an excellent color rendering. for the most punctilious it is better not to shoot at the minimum focal length and at the maximum, but nothing shocking. Used for over a year with satisfactory results, I am really happy about it. A very useful and high-level all-rounder. Highly recommended.

Pros: Excellent rings, it holds excellent performance at all focal lengths always good optics, excellent internal stabilizer, extended focal length and maintains f2.8 brightness at all focal lengths, very satisfactory AF very fast and very accurate with my X-H2.

Cons: Physiological for a universal zoom chromatic aberrations and distortions, perhaps a long can bulky but given focal lengths and brightness then I think excellent. Stabilizer on sensors with the IBIS ?.

Opinion: Arrived last night on Tamron 17-70. Done a can of various tests focal lengths and apertures, what can I say it is a bright f2.8 universal zoom in addition to the internal optical stabilizer I do not see how I can compare it with other optics for reason not the same focal length or brightness so for me only universal lens with extended focal length and f2.8 brightness currently for Fujifilm APS-c. I know that with a universal lens you have to make some compromises, in fact I find distortions and some chromatic aberration, nothing dramatic but present and physiological for a universal zoom. The corner performance, I must say, does not disappoint, good at full aperture, becomes excellent at closed apertures and this applies to all focal lengths. I find the mechanics excellent but the lens hood seems very small to me, really zero bulky, but maybe it was better a larger can for the better seal, side light. I haven't tried star effect, time doesn't allow me to do so, but I guess it's good at 9 blades. All in all, I think I need a successful lens when I go to the mountains and I want to bring only two/three lenses, maybe the 11-20+17-70 Tamron is a perfect pair. Or the X-H2 40 MP updated with the latest firmware, the AF works perfectly, tried even with the 11mm macro ring, but it's fine, really surprising, the AF is very fast and accurate. Lens recommended for landscape photography without high bokeh requirements. Note: new addition or checked several times the behavior of the stabilizer on my X-H2 I can't convince myself so for handheld photography only I always turn off the stabilizer on this zoom I sometimes find micro blur and abnormal behavior, using electric shutter only + the shutter only stabilizer behaves great. Or bought for reason was on occasion with price 630 euros for me very valid given the price.

Pros: Focal length equivalent to a 25-105 - Constant aperture 2.8 - Weight and dimensions - Tropicalized - Stabilized - Silent - AF speed - Blurred quality - Sharpness - Minimum focusing distance (almost a macro) - colors

Cons: Does not keep the focus during zooming - does not have the diaphragm ring - vignetting at maximum aperture (correctable in post) - Softness at 70mm and maximum aperture - flare if put under pressure - price

Opinion: Purchased to use it especially in the video field I think it can be, net of the defects highlighted, the definitive lens for general use. For those who make videos it means editing it and bringing home a lot of quality with a single solution. To those who take pictures, however, I recommend the side by side with fixed because for me the 2.8 on apsc in some cases limit a little creativity. However, very usable also as a portrait lens because it has a very nice blur. Excellent approach capacity.
