Pros: Price + sharpness/clarity + constant 2.8 min aperture + construction + ease of use.

Cons: None so far.

Opinion: I replaced my Canon 18-55 kit lens with the Sigma. I've been extremely pleased with the lens and the results I'm getting with it. Images have been sharp and clear. I got the lens new from Amazon for $290 USD. I haven't had any problems with focusing or usability of the lens with my Canon 80D. Photos and videos both look great. The construction of the lens is very good. I'm sure this will be my "go-to" lens for a long time.

Pros: Value for money, only paid Euro250 direct from the Australian Sigma importer with 24 months warranty. Silent AF on my copy, Fairly quick AF. Light weight with optical stabilization makes it easy to handle. Handy zoom range. Constant F2.8. Build quality good for the money.

Cons: Nothing for me.

Opinion: Great bang for you buck lens. Formerly owned the Sigma 18-35mm Art and I'd say this is almost as sharp but easier to handle due to the light weight and optical stabilization. Selling this lens as I am also selling my APS-C camera. I can only hope to find a similar quality and great value FX lens like this. Will be missed. From my copy I can thoroughly recommend this lens.

Pros: Sharpness, Colour, f2.8 constant aperture, Stabilizer, Fast AF

Cons: Zoom ring opposite to Nikon, focus ring too short, AF in low light

Opinion: I review this lens after 4 months of testing between landscape portrait and astrophotography, the lens is a big upgrade compared to the classic 18-55 or 18-105 kit both in terms of quality and brightness being at f2.8 on the entire focal length, in the hand it gives you that sense of robustness and quality, on any occasion you take home excellent shots and it also holds up well to the phenomenon of difraction at very small apertures. Already at TA it has a good sharpness, closing from f4 / f5 it becomes a razor, it seems to have almost a fixed in the hand, I say almost because in any case zooming the difference from the fixed you can see, I really like the colors it returns, the stabilizer is a bomb I took photos at 1/6 freehand and there is not the slightest trace of microblur, Fast AF. The cons that I can't digest are the zoom ring that oh well you get used to it, the real Achilles heel is the manual focus ring too short, in astrophotography focusing a dot with a ring like this is almost impossible, in this case I take advantage of the fact that in AF you can't rotate the ring and I deactivate it from the camera body in this way once the lock is focused where it is there, obviously like many other lenses little luca equals AF problematic on 5 shots one cannon but it's okay it fits. Overall I consider it an excellent lens, it replaced my kit 18-105 now it is mounted stable on the mi d7100, I recommend it if one wants an all-rounder but of quality, excellent for portraits and landscapes, I took some astro photos but coming from a fixed bright I struggle to appreciate it, maybe closing a little to f4 improves but there are better lenses for astrophotography, Obviously always better than the kit lens. Rating 9/10

Pros: Colours, brightness and quality/price

Cons: for me no one

Opinion: bought it because my canon 17-55 is 2.8 lens was under repair, and it took a long time to get it, needing a similar focal length for a trip I decided on the sigma 17-50 f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM, excellent both as general results of photographs, excellent stabilizer quite fast warm color in shots, Affordable price for such a lens and lighter weight than the Canon 17-55 IS 2.8, although this lens is discontinued and recommended.

Pros: Colors, brightness, price.

Cons: From my point of view nobody, perhaps the hood and plastics, which I would have preferred of higher quality

Opinion: I write this review but I consider myself a simple amateur photographer, so evaluate it in this sense. Bought years ago to replace the 18/55 "standard" at a cost that was, if I remember correctly, of 400/500 euros (new). It has been in the closet for a while also because (read above all) it is a lens for cameras equipped with APS-C sensor. Lately, however, having unworthily equipped myself with a Canon R5, I can use it because the camera adapts automatically, even if in fact it is like having (approximately) a 24/70 but still with f/2.8 aperture. The excursion and movement of the rings is fluid, perhaps a little too braked but I think it's better this way. The plastics are opaque and of not excellent quality but the object, as a whole, conveys a feeling of well-built. One thing that I also found on the 70/200 f/2.8 always Sigma, is the resistance to dust penetration internally. Bright and sharp, I don't think it looks bad on high-end cameras; Using the adapter, it is less unbalanced when mounted on a machine on the tripod, as it is shorter.
