Pros: overall mechanical quality higher than the economic range of the lens, excellent AF, excellent IS, very quiet, tropicalized, excellent size and weight for the equivalent focal length, optical quality within 10 meters of shooting.

Cons: Optical quality above 10mt, absence of the AF limiter, so light as to forget that it is an equivalent 600 (just kidding!)

Opinion: It is difficult to comment on this lens because it has many merits and only one big flaw: the sharpness above 10/15 MT. I bought it for birdlife for reasons of affordability: with distances around 10 meters, it does quite well and the image quality is very conditioned by the light conditions. At shorter distances (e.g. when shooting passerines) it even becomes very sharp almost like a pro lens, even at 300mm and wide open. When you exceed 15mt the images are less sharp, even with good light and the aperture at f8: this is my experience in the field with the sample in my possession. Now that we have removed the tooth, I can say with certainty that it is a very good lens in terms of construction, very solid, smooth and homogeneous zoom ring, very pleasant and precise MF ring (the best among the Panasonics I owned), also beautiful as an external finish. The stabilizer is excellent: on Em1 and Em1 II, where the dual IS does not work, I give priority to the IS of the lens. Considering the price of both new and used cars, the equivalent focal length, the portability, the result is a compromise perspective that is all in all very valid and very versatile to use on the road or in the mountains where more qualitative solutions impose greater weight and bulk. Another area in which it is pleasant to use is the street for stolen shots, the small size all in all makes you more discreet. I would have preferred it to be like the Lumix G 12-60 f3.5/5.6 that is sharp always and in any case, but it is obvious that with super telephoto you would need optical schemes that integrate something more than just one ED lens, which would have made this zoom very expensive. I recommend it provided that you are clear about the limits it imposes on you: for the use I make of it I sometimes felt a little limited in the final result.

Pros: Excellent quality/price ratio - small size and weight - solid structure.

Cons: No bracket for tripod mount.

Opinion: It is a lens that is typically purchased to have something cheap, light and space-saving, to be used freehand outdoors, accepting the idea of having to sacrifice brightness and performance in favor of portability. With use, however, it turns out that practically nothing has been sacrificed: the image quality holds its own against lenses of similar focal length, more than double the price and almost triple the weight. The minimum focusing distance is enough to photograph butterflies and dragonflies (my favorite subject) in full frame with excellent definition. The construction is solid and accurate and the low price gives so much serenity in casual use on the field ... The stabilization is excellent, which makes you forget the absence of the tripod bracket. Absolutely recommended lens!

Pros: Weight, size, price, equivalent focal length

Cons: If used in view of its limitations nothing

Opinion: I bought it without great expectations, given the cost (to say I paid 579 euros for a new 600mm is almost unbelievable). It is obviously an economic lens but not one that seems to disassemble just by looking at them. I tried it at home, just to make sure it worked, and then I left for Tanzania crossing my fingers. In good light conditions and with the warning not to use it at TA and maximum focal length (300), this lens is stunning. I took home hundreds of sharp shots with faithful colors. I am very satisfied with the result.

Pros: In the m4/3 it is a 200-600, for transportability and focal range it is unattainable. Excellent sharpness.

Cons: He accelerated AF so-so. Acceptable, but improvable.

Opinion: Good optics. In birdlife or simply when you need a long optic is a must have in the m4/3 system. Of course there are better solutions (on paper) like the oly 100-400, but what you get is not worth the greater outlay. This objective is a good compromise. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get good results without weighing down the backpack and lightening the wallet too much.

Pros: Small size, very light for the focal length, stabilization, excellent overall yield, price.

Cons: Frankly, I can't think of anything

Opinion: I took this lens especially for birdlife, considering that at 300mm it is a 600 equivalent, and I am completely satisfied. It costs relatively little and has a very high yield even at 300. Of course it makes the best if a little closed, f.8 or f.11, but also at full opening it says its without particular problems. At the beginning I was not very convinced but after stressing it and learning to use it I am very satisfied, it is worth all the money it costs and even more. Advised.
