I don't need any particular speed performance (no birdlife, no sport), I don't make videos, I always shoot in RAW and then have a proven workflow in Lightroom. I regularly use OM1.2 and EM5.1 together with the fixed ones that the system offers (both pro and non-pro). The OM3, while maintaining the characteristics of OM1.2, emphasizes in a marked way some aspects and functions that I do not need. The OM1.2 is much more comfortable to hold and balanced, with more naturally positioned keys to reach, a much better viewfinder (I always dial with the viewfinder), and weighs a little more. Clearly the grip makes the dimensions different, but not that much. The EM5.1 (the 5 series in general) has smaller dimensions, a grip that is not intrusive but all in all effective, and now a much lower value that allows a more serene use in risky contexts. Clearly technologically it is far behind. On the OM3 for me the Creative Control wheel is useless (I don't use Jpeg), the ring on the left shoulder to select video is useless (I don't do any), and I use very little computational functions (this is a matter related to all Olympus products). The CP button, the most convenient to reach with the thumb, is fortunately reprogrammable to your liking, the dials I mentioned are not reprogrammable. The grip without grip can be liked but it is in my opinion very uncomfortable as the camera has its own weight, and therefore in the hand it is always unbalanced, even with small and light lenses. The menu, similar to that of OM1.2, is well made and readable. It remains complex because the machine is full of functions (but this applies to all of them now). The QI is in line with other modern M4/3 machines, it is talked about everywhere, whether it can be enough depends on personal needs. In general, if you don't take advantage of the specific functions and dials, I don't recommend it.

With just 1.5 kilos I have a kit ranging from 18 to 200 corresponding, with two fixed and two zooms. The tactile sensation it transmits is beautiful and unique, this camera winks at landscape and street photographers, I also tried it on the monopod with the 300f4 in birdlife, but I was not thrilled, in fact for this type of photo there is the OM-1. Using this OM-3 is a lot of fun, you think more about the substance of the shot as we used to do with film, taken with the 12-45f4 kit it weighs with the 750g lens so you don't realize you have it at your fingertips. The strong point remains the stacked sensor with excellent image quality, then there are the Live ND filters up to ND64, and the new Live GND much appreciated for landscape photos, obviously shooting in high resolution, with the 80MP 14-Bit tripod, 50MP freehand.
