Pros: light, sharp, quick, a game changer

Cons: price

Opinion: a fantastic lens ! the combination with the new cameras makes a completely new experience possible, most of the tome you can do pictures handheld, and for the rest you do not need a heavy tripod. what astonishes me most is that I get pictures with the system that are better then before with full frame and lenses whiting 3x times more and costing 2x more- I changed to Olympus because the best camera - lens si the system you have with you, or you can carry, and for a very practical experience when Nikon charge me over 700€ for a service on a 200-400 F4 lens I used all in all just 3 times and in good conditions- I do not regret.

Pros: Unique project in the world .. fantastic image quality, weights and dimensions, ergonomics, characteristic and pastel blur

Cons: The only fear is related to the durability over time and assistance in case of need once the warranty is over... Will OMsystem be there? And will it be up to it? In addition, the value of used ... If you don't like it and want to resell it after a while, in mint condition, we will take half of what you paid for it

Opinion: The 150-400 with the OM1 represent the last two "devastating" shots of the "old" Olympus. which no longer exists and which, alas, has known no heirs. OMsystem, in over three years, has done nothing... The 150-400 is a unique super telephoto in the world, it corresponds to a 300-800mm, which becomes a 1000mm with the built-in 1.25x TC, but with the brightness and quality of the blur of a real 150-400 F4.5 super telephoto. With the external 1.4x TC, in addition to the internal 1.25x TC it becomes a 700 F8 (1400mm eq.) of still very high quality. The 2x, on the other hand, does not hold it, it is completely useless. It is incredibly light in relation to the brightness and focal range it offers, and at first glance it surprises, it seems a joke from how small, light and well balanced it is. Without the lens hood it does not weigh 2kg. It is perhaps one of the very few lenses, perhaps the only one I have ever used, to which I can not find any defect. The ergonomics are wonderful, you can carry it all day with the comfortable bracket without effort, the dials are soft, the lens hood is comfortable and generous, the autofocus is very fast, the sharpness is fantastic and the blur fabulous. Obviously it wins by technical knockout on all zooms for FF, Canon Sony or Nikon, compared to which it maintains a constant sharpness in all environmental and light conditions and has a more "captivating" engaging and intense blur. It is no coincidence that this Olympus costs five times as much as zoommons for FF. and those who buy it are certainly not stupid, contrary to what many "unprepared" think who do not know it and discredit the smaller sensor out of ignorance, or who do not know how to use the m4/3 system, due to technical and handle insufficiency, and resell it after three hours saying that it sucks ... Also compared with the super telephoto F4 for FF, as long as the light does not drop drastically it holds its own and does not disfigure at all, it differs only for the less accentuated detachment but still equally pleasant (in this regard I invite you to look on the forum for the test we did together with the Sony 600GM). When, on the other hand, the light really drops, the comparison with the fixed lights for FF begins to suffer, due to the smaller sensor for which it is designed and the autofocus of Olympus cameras that becomes fluctuating. In fact, I consider it a meeting point, halfway, between a super telephoto light for FF and a super telephoto zoommone F6.3... And for this reason in naturalistic I believe that the 150-400 with the OM1 represent the most effective and fun combo on the market. I no longer even remotely think about spending 20k in the FF and carrying 5 kg of stuff on my shoulders, or 7kg or more, to take two sensational photos a year and give up another 1000 photos because of broken bones and obstructive clutter and uncomfortable CT scans to assemble and disassemble... With the 150-400 I take all the photos I want, with fantastic quality and I return home fresh and happy, forgetting even tripods and monopods thanks to the phenomenal stabilization and the very low weight. Moreover, everyone turns to look at it, as it stands out and stands out from the "boring" and anonymous mass of the usual one hundred thousand canonists and nikonists all the same as stencils and all with the same equipment.

Pros: Lightness, I use it in any weather conditions! A great lens that always allows you to go further without any problems!

Cons: No cons

Opinion: A very versatile and portable lens, every time I use it I am always amazed by the result obtained! I hope to make even better use of it in the near future with the portable shed I got ! It always allows me to be on the scene even at certain distances! The focus is really fast ! It wasn't easy to find a backpack worthy of accommodating her, because of the amount of lenses I have! Now with the trolley with the rubber wheels I should move much more easily!

Pros: AF quality and performance, constant aperture up to maximum focal length, well-balanced weight, minimum maf distance, construction and ergonomics, of course the built-in tc just a click away, smooth zoom ring, internal zoom

Cons: At the moment I don't have any aspects to report

Opinion: A zoom of excellent quality both for its workmanship and for the performance it offers, the undisputed performance of a 300pro (which I have used for 4 years and I know very well) but at all focal lengths even with the 1.25x inserted reaching 500mm it loses practically nothing, compared to the 300 the blur is more pleasant even if it is more closed than an f 0.5, It is undeniable that at the first outings the difference of a few pounds of weight is felt but it is still well balanced and well manageable freehand, then it repays the fact that you are no longer bound to take off and put some TCs (I bit my hands for missed shots more than once) or sometimes compositions that are necessarily too tight. I also wanted to try it with the 1.4x tc on posed subjects and in good light and the result is satisfactory but it becomes really difficult to use in pursuit or flight, I still believe that at important distances (we are at 700mm with a 2x sensor) factors come into play (humidity, fine dust, heat mist) that recommend its use for documentary photos and / or where quality is not a priority.

Pros: Excellent construction - Small footprint and weight - Excellent freehand portability - Economical compared to the top of the range f/4 full frame - Wide focal length (from 300 to 1000mm) - Excellent yield with the addition of 1.4x and 2x teleconverters - Adjustment of the tripod bracket to predefined positions - AF point storage - Excellent stabilization at low ISO

Cons: Rubber stiffness to the touch on the focal length ring

Opinion: I have been using the 150-400 for about six months combined with the new OM-1. The optics proved to be of the highest level, both constructive (splash-proof) and photographic. A lens with a low weight and size that offers the nature photographer the possibility to range from 150mm up to 500mm with the use of the built-in 1.25 teleconverter. Practically it is like being on the full frame from 300mm to 800mm remaining with an f/4.5 aperture reaching 1,000mm at f/5.6. Very bright optics that allow you to photograph up to 1,000mm at all hours of the day (from sunrise to dusk). I use it mainly handheld (with an OM-1 you get to 2.3Kg) and I do not accuse fatigue problems as was the case before with the Nikon f/4 canvases that exceeded 4.5Kg with the mirrorless Z. Making a comparison with the new supertele f / 4 full frame the M.Zuiko 150-400mm I also see it "cheap" costs 50% less than a 600 f / 4 Nikon, Canon or Sony and the yield is equal if not higher. Using the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters the 150-400 behaves impeccably reaching up to 2,000mm with a very responsive AF and a very good image quality, which was not the case with the 200-400 f/4 Nikon that I had when I used it with the 1.4x Nikon on a Z6 or Z7. Convenient adjustment of the tripod bracket snap, or turning it is immediately the default position. The stabilization is also very good, if used handheld at low ISO (250-400) with open apertures the image is perfectly sharp rich in details with beautiful colors. On the lens there are buttons and controls for adjusting the distance or for memorizing the focus point. I did not find negative notes although a note on the type of rubber used on the focal ring, in my opinion a bit too rigid to the touch. Vote 10 laude!
