Opinion: As I don`t do any tests and just go out to take pictures, these are my very personal thoughts. I comparison to the z-6ii the AF-improvement is huge! It ist not as great as the z-9, but there we had some huge updates - so we will see ;-) I personaly prefer the tilt screen of z-6ii/z-9 over the fully rotating one. The "old" one is more durable I think and - it`s a litte bit "strange" for me to look at a screen that is not in the optical axis of the lens when shooting low level for example. Second thing is, thas the body could be a little more "higher" - my hands are rather big - but SmallRig already has the solution as with the z-6ii The big question I guess is: as a photographer (without video) is it worth to update from z-6ii? Well, if you don`t shoot wildlife&birds all the time, then I would say no. The z-6ii handles everything else in a great way and you can spend your money in lenses :-) If you love to shoot birds and other wildlife and the z-9 is too big/heavy - definitley a yes. Or, as a second & lighter body with similar af-technology.... I hope, this non-scientific thought can help someone with their descision - if there are questions, feel free to ask :-)

Pros: Excellent performance even at high ISO, pre-burst, button customization, exceptional EVF in reproduction, both RAW and JPG image quality, color rendering, stabilization. In combination with the 28-400 you have an excellent all-rounder that is ideal for travel.

Cons: EVF sensor that interferes with the use of the display in many situations. Poor battery life and incompatibility with batteries manufactured by third parties. Opinion: I switched to the Z6III from a Canon 80D used predominantly with Tamron 16-300 for travel photography. Here are my impressions after a 2 week trip with a day of safari and about 3 months of use. The camera behaves very well at high iso, up to 6400 iso the noise is very little and is acceptable even at higher values, on the 80D already exceeded 1600 iso it is a disaster. The pre-burst, despite the lack of RAW, is really a lot of fun and I was very satisfied. Continuous AF with animal tracking works well as long as the subject doesn't pass behind an obstacle, even in very small obstacles such as branches the camera loses focus and picks it up quite late. There are various options, maybe I didn't find the right combination. In combination with the 28-400 the camera tends to open as wide as possible by reducing the depth of field too much. The P mode was therefore not as practical and usable as with the 80D. For photos to be taken on the fly it may not be very effective and the eyepiece often does not allow you to effectively detect an inadequate depth of field. In combination with the 28-400 it has confirmed itself as an excellent travel camera that covers all needs. The loss of magnification compared to the 16-300 (i.e. 24-450 FF) is compensated for by better sharpness in almost all real-world situations. Obviously the FF has a greater weight than an APS-C, but at least as far as I'm concerned it's manageable even if at the limit (I wouldn't take anything heavier). Pre Burst and fast burst obviously generate a lot of files which makes the 24 megapixels suitable for those who make fairly long journeys allowing a good balance on the entire supply chain (SD, computer, physical storage, cloud storage). The battery life was disappointing, on a "long" day with the use of bursts, a bit of video and a "normal" use that does not care about energy saving with 2 batteries you get pulled at the end of the day. In the case of safari I think it is necessary to equip yourself with 3 or better 4 batteries.� I am quite satisfied with the product and I believe that currently on the market there is no better system considering the combination lens / car for those who have to travel and do not want to carry more than one lens with them.
