I still use it currently for macro outputs or when I know I have to use the angle viewfinder for "floor" sessions; the rectangular bayonet coupling is in fact faster and more practical for me than the circular screw one, which I have on the D500. The pixel size is 3.9 micrometers for a 24 Mpixel APS-C sensor which allows for a nice cropping margin for recomposition. The dimensions and weight (765 g) are reflex but still a little lighter and smaller than the d500 and the previous D300s. In conclusion, I still recommend it to those who want a good reflex at a reasonable price and, the one I have, I keep it carefully, using it often as mentioned above.

I use it in the mountains and even under a snowfall and with temperatures well below -10°C it has not batted an eyelid. Tropicalization by PRO body. All the controls are in place, in a few minutes you can memorize the positions and you can use them without taking your eyes off the viewfinder. The files that come out of the machine are easily processed. The only negative aspect I found is the light meter, absolutely ineffective: in areas with strong brightness or where there is a lot of white it panics, in general it underexposes enough, I had to set the light meter to +0.7 to have photos that are not heavily underexposed. I don't understand why they had to put such a poor light meter on a machine of this level. Still highly recommended! Rating: 9

It is useful to have an ND4 filter for panning, not being able to shoot from 50 ISO with direct light. With good optics it can still give great satisfaction to the photographer, despite everything, his files are deep, they do not deviate so much from those of a d750 if well worked in post production. I would have liked to see this sensor, updated around the two-year period 2019/2020 mounted on a hypothetical d500s. In my opinion we would have had the best SLR ever and it would have been the right swan song for the digital / mechanical Nikon house and for photography enthusiasts in general.
