Pros: Robustness, tropicalization safe from everything, professional, excellent sensor and AF, remarkable files, controls at your fingertips. Very long-lasting machine. It is the completion of the D300.

Cons: Nothing and nothing, except the fact that they don't do it anymore. As for videos, if I want to do them, I buy the camera.

Opinion: I had the D500 for 9 years, and when I tried the D300 and 300s I sold it to get them both moreover at really ridiculous prices, perfect bodies at about 8000 shots each. Many will say that it is madness, but no, it was a targeted and well-thought-out choice: these are 2 dated cameras, but professional and always current: when you pick them up and use them you understand that they have everything to make you fall in love, they are solid, powerful cameras, for those who really love photography, I have been photographing since 1979, and I have had from F2, to FM2, FE2, FA, and so on. The D500 is a remarkable and technically very advanced body and has a thousand cutting-edge features, including 20.9 megapixels, but these two cameras give a feeling of robustness and simplicity that the D500 has never given me. The 12.3 megapixels are more than enough even to make fabulous enlargements, and the famous noise at high ISO up to 1600 by setting the noise control to NORMAL and sharpness 7-8, is not perceived and is identical to the D500, which over 1600 has the same problems as the D300 and D300s. These two cameras (D300 and D300s) are cameras for those who want to take real photography without running after megapixels, and all the devilry that they submit to us for commercial purposes such as iso at 51,200, I remind you that we took splendid photographs with the FE2, FM2, which did not have autofocus and only the average exposure with a central predominance. It should be added that there are professional photographers who are still using these two cameras.

Pros: AF, files, ergonomics, tropicalization, customizations, colors that returns, used price

Cons: ISO seal, video compartment, shutter noise

Opinion: I have owned it for many years and, despite having other newer camera bodies, I will never give it away. The AF is comparable to today's machines, the colors it returns (with the same lens) are something I love, I like it more than other machines that return more "real" colors. Carried around in the mountains with -10 degrees, as with the bora on the beach, never even scratched. The menu is very good and allows you to do what you want. The 12 mpx files are very workable and even with a little crop I managed to make books and squares. The noise of the shot is a bit annoying, not like you d800 or others, and the tightness to the high ISO alas is not the best given the age, over 800 is hard to recover the file However as already mentioned above, I will never give it away, what he gave me, did not give me any other machine!

Pros: Professional, robust, controls in the right place, burst, reliability, autofocus sensor, sensor (at ISO content), dual memory slots.

Cons: Noise at high ISO (from 1000 onwards), limited buffer, a few hot pixels.

Opinion: What can I say, a car that still does its dirty work and great, I use it especially for sports photos, where it gives the best. The body is a tank, robust and professional, with the keys where you would like them. The burst is sufficient even if the buffer is a bit limited. The sensor, at ISO content churns out excellent files, without exaggerating with crop in post-production (12 mpx are sufficient but not too much). At high ISOs, let's say from 1000 upwards, the noise begins to be seen, there is a need to apply a little NR. The autofocus is fast, great for dynamic photos. My specimen suffers a bit of hot pixels, which disappear during post production, but which are actually there.

Pros: ergonomics

Cons: Usable up to 2000 Iso

Opinion: I've used it many years. It was one of the first machines with the video compartment actually usable for work purposes and with the very convenient control of remote flash systems completely adjustable by the machine. The datasheet is missing the TIFF file format. Logical that the technology is over 10 years ago but still does its job.

Pros: Excellent file quality, robust, ergonomic, good ISO seal, very fast even without grip. Really useful double slot.

Cons: Nothing to declare.

Opinion: A great camera to say the least, definitely one of the best ever. It is located on the used at an affordable price and is worth having. I also have the D300, but that's another thing. It grips beautifully and always provides excellent performance. I often use it with the excellent 18-70 and the yield is super. The battery life, now proven, is good.
