Opinion: There is a lot of talk about Nikon's 35mm/full frame medium zooms, there are vague videos, articles, sites, reviews etc. to understand the differences between the 3 existing versions: the old 2.8-4 IF I wrote about, the photo version above (given in kit for many models) and the latest version with VR that you recognize because it has 72mm filters and not 67mm. I read everything about these 3 lenses and used them together and tested them for a long time both on fullframe and aps-c (dx). Leaving aside the technical speeches you find around, I will come only to the hard, the only real usable lens is the 2.8-4 IF, the other 2 I found simply useless. Of course if you don't even have a lens it will help you to make generic photos but other than that you do little. The photo version above was the one I sold before, it has no quality in particular apart from the size and weight contained. Personal opinion: if taken under 150euro and used on DX (aps-c) you will be amazed by the photos you will take home!
