Pros: Soap Bubble Blurred - Very Interesting Macro and Portraits

Cons: Who likes this kind of soap bubble effect Do not have it in your kit. The model Meyer 100mm f2.8 Exakta mount on Canon SLR goes slam in the mirror (I recommend the change)

Opinion: This lens is fantastic... I tried before the Trioplan 100mm the 50mm always Trioplan ... but the effect "soap bubbles" as beautiful as the 100mm there is neither ... If you like this type of effect is to have in your photographic kit ..... very nice for macro but also for close-up portraits. I also tried the new 100mm RF Canon that has the ring that allows you the effect Meyer soap bubbles but sins in sharpness ... you give you the effect to soap bubbles but the subject in the foreground is blurred .... RF 100 macro is suitable for macro photos... Another test I did was to check in Portrait of people the blurred mile and among the optics I had " 300mm f2.8 - 50mm f0.95 - 24-105 - and 100mm Trioplan " the winner was the 100mm Trioplan. As written in the cons the version with Exakta mount if not modified on Canon SLR goes to slam the mirror and this is not good ... in the link below you can see the edit for Canon and do not slam the mirror . http://www.zeval.org/zeval/Modifiche.html It would be interesting to try the new 100mm trioplan and see if it is better than the old Meyer Trioplan .....

Pros: Bokeh, light, very funny, bubble effect... and also small-canvases.

Cons: Nothing, apart from the price.

Opinion: You only have to buy the aluminum version 100 2.8 with the 1 in the triangle . Forget more (like the 50 or the 100 2.8 black). The price is what it is... but having patience ... I state that I am still experiencing it. For me it is an extraordinary lens for the dreamy portrait. With small extension tubes you can also get closer to the subject (the smallest will be 3 mm). The optimal distances for the bubble effect are, from what I have seen so far, subject to 1 meter in diffused light / backlight and vegetation about 3 meters behind in full direct light. Then you have fun experimenting. The thing that surprised me and that I did not expect is that closed by f8 is sharp and not even a little (even more so at f11), even if it lacks a bit of contract (to be added in PP). The yield is vintage, but the sharpness is all there.

Pros: Bokeh, construction, lightness, fun.

Cons: No one if you know what you're buying

Opinion: Without repeating to sciovinare all the peculiar characteristics that have made it the object of desires for a certain type of photography, I dwell briefly on the fact that there are no cons for two aspects: 1) the lack of sharpness for a lens that practically has to work at 2.8 does not have to be a suffering indeed, those who buy this lens look for that artistic effect characterized by softness. If you are looking for a razor you buy more 2) The prices found on the Italian market are unjustified. In 20 minutes of research I found a specimen in excellent condition on the foreign market in a famous photo shop at 250 euros so affordable. Ultimately, if the purchase is conscious and if you like the features of this lens it becomes a real toy for pure fun.

Pros: fun and light

Cons: cost

Opinion: lens really fun, requires practice and time, you can certainly not think that you buy it mounts shots and comes out the masterpiece, it must be understood studied and used in different light situations. I would buy it again because I am one who likes to experiment but too often I leave it at home. The photos that come out do not have a unanimous response, there are those who like them and those who do not, but I assure you that if you are looking for something different to do it will fascinate you.

Pros: Bokeh with soap bubble effect, creamy blurry, color rendering for me beautiful, lightness of optics to be a 100mm, sharpness is not as poor as often read around, or at least my specimen has good sharpness and if closed to f8 it always goes better and you can do landscape quietly .....

Cons: A little price, but on the other hand he is the undisputed king of his kind, as the bubbles do he, to this day, no one succeeds ...

Opinion: I am simply in love with the specific feature of producing a bokeh with soap bubbles so well defined and homogeneous, I love the type of photo that allows you to do and all the study and research that is upstream to find the right light conditions to do this photographic genre, in short, here we talk about a very precise and defined photographic genre , so there is little to say or you love or pass over, I love him deeply and I am sorry that lately I am not being able to find time for him ...
