Pros: AF. 40mpx very usable till 3200 iso. Dynamic range. "Nostalgic Negative" film simulation. Faster processor. Improved custom profile with more saved infos. "Tilt" screen. "4:2:2" and "F-LOG2". Lighter than xt4. 125 base iso. EVF latency lower.

Cons: It needs good lenses to express its potential. 6400 iso should be used with attention. "Crop 1.29x" in electronic shutter at 20 fps. EVF resolution is good but not as the one used in XH2. A bit of "rolling shutter" with fast "panning".

Opinion: Compared to xt4, xt5 it is a better body in almost all points. Used with last generation lenses (XF33 f1.4 lm wr, XF18 f1.4 lm wr) produces great files with a very good dynamic range. I usually don't use iso greater than 3200 iso so it perfect in my use case. With 6400 and higher iso there is more grain but it is finer than is predecessor so in this case all depends on the type of photo you are shooting (and noise postprocessing). New processor is very fast and helps many operations: EVF, "image quality" filters, autofocus. "Eye autofocus" is finally reliable. Love tilt screen especially in dynamic shootings (without to have worry to damage it...). Custom profiles are much more complete than is predecessor and allow to save more options. Nostalgic Negative now is my default profile: in many cases I use it to post jpeg without any postprocessing (shadows are not so hard as in Classic Chrome and colors are wonderful). White balance seems better (probably thanks to AI). For landscape 125 base iso and 40mpx are great improvements. 40 mpx : even if you don't print in big formats more crop options, straight line correction accuracy and a smaller color matrix help a lot.

Pros: Beautiful, file quality, (lots of buttons) and controls, fun to use in general, lots of possibilities, stabilization

Cons: Menus not very understandable (then we speak badly of Sony...), (too many) buttons and controls, items in the menus disabled without explanation, video/photo switches, no metering for highlights, AF not at Sony level

Opinion: I've had this machine for 10 days so I can't say too much and will probably update the review over time. For now I feel very good and, although I hated Fuji for a long time, I had to change my mind (as I did with Ricoh): it takes a couple of days to understand it but then it's all downhill, already from the third day I felt in total control. Manual controls are clearly the strong point on Fujis. I am not interested in film simulations. Fortunately the xt5 does not have that ridiculous dial for simulations like the xe5 but unfortunately it has the photo/video switch that I would have certainly preferred to be destined for something else (metering for example, or "photometry" as they call it. On the other hand, it's okay too, the camera has a billion buttons and wheels anyway, even too many. In fact I put 8 items in the Q menu and I could not even use the rest (if we count all the dials and the keys are more than 20, to which is added the Q menu which has another 16 slots). The menus are in my opinion very confusing, with incomprehensible names (why is the zoom called "check"? And call it "zoom" right?) and some items are disabled in some cases without the slightest explanation. Sometimes you are forced to look online for the reason and it is something I hate. The files seem to me to be excellent and very malleable. The stabilization also seems good to me but I have shitty hands so I can't say how much. I am amazed by the lack of metering for the highlights, present on Sony and Ricoh and which is missing on both Fuji and Canon (I don't know Nikon). A piece of advice I would give to all those who come from other brands: when you take it, sit down for 2 hours and look at the meaning of all the items on the menu. Edit: The stabilization surprised me. I can do even 1" without blur with 16-80. Not bad.

Pros: ANALOG FEELING - JPEG - GOOD STABILIZATION - EXCELLENT PORTABILITY WITH PANCAKE LENSES

Cons: DIGITAL NOISE - UNCERTAIN AF - FILE SIZE

Opinion: Camera with a friendly feeling: intuitive and well-arranged controls, just a glance is enough to have everything under control. On the other hand, the files produced are very heavy, with a not very incisive definition and a digital noise perceptible even at medium sensitivities. A point certainly to its advantage is the possibility of obtaining, if made a good exposure and perfect focus, Jpeg files ready for printing.

Pros: Lightness Resolution Portability

Cons: I don't see any at the moment

Opinion: I state that I work mainly with Pentax which remains my first and great love (I have been using it since 1972.....obviously changing model). I bought this camera for photos during concerts or when the shutter of the mirror can be annoying. The choice fell on fuji for the goodness of the sensors and for the program behind the processing of RAW files, identical to the Pentax one (silkypix). I also remember that the first (analog) bayonet fuji had the Pentax K mount. The photos are of excellent quality with beautiful color rendering. Noise at high ISO almost irrelevant, easy to correct with the software (obviously for a good performance I think it is essential to use the program at the base of fuji raw files that is silkypix, I have been using it for over 12 years and now I am at version 12 PRO). I have read a lot of criticism but I am more than used to criticism as I am in the Pentax world. There is always someone who doesn't like to drink something, and there is always someone who criticizes on principle. Overall it is an excellent room suitable for the purpose for which it was purchased by me (photos in classical music street theater). I don't understand the criticism of file size: the amount in terms of pixels has its own in the amount of bits!! Resolution in terms of pixels necessarily involves larger files

Pros: Resolution, Grip, File Quality

Cons: file weight, heats up a little too much, battery

Opinion: I use the X-t5 for all my work, I've been a photographer for years now, and I've had many brands, but Fujifilm is my favorite. the camera body is gorgeous, a vintage style with a grip is fabulous, the files come out really well thanks to the 40 MPX sensor, the files of course weigh a lot but if you shoot in jpeg as I do, when you have long sessions that you don't need the RAW file you recover time and space, and often thanks to the film simulation some files are already ready in the camera. video side, they say that It is not the perfect camera for videomakers... HUGE, the video files are unique, with a color and a cinematic style like few others, don't be fooled by what is said around, photography and filmmaking are something else, and this camera gives you unique results of its kind. A bit disappointing battery, but with 2 or 3 spare you can work days with peace of mind. YOU STRA_CONSIGLIO!
