Opinion: I come from Canon 6D MII which I still own. I had 3 L Series lenses: 16-35mm f.4/35mm f1.4 and 24-70mm f2.8. I bought the XT30 as a second body exclusively for the street but it quickly became the first body, thanks to its efficiency: it is very small, light and churns out fearsome files, as well as having that charm of vintage design that makes its own. I use it (for now) exclusively with Fuji's cheapest lens, the 35 XC F2 (which I'm equally amazed by). As I said, I took it for the street but slowly it supplanted the Canon for practically any release: I sold the Canon EF 16-35 f.4 and the Canon EF 35 f1.4, keeping only the 24-70 for travel: when traveling I really like to shoot portraits and landscapes and the canon kit is the best for this. For everything else I do, the XT30 is wonderful. I'm not going to get technical, I'm just saying that it gives me a unique shooting pleasure. For those who come from Canon, the Fuji menu and software are certainly not immediate, but once you "understand" the Fuji philosophy in my opinion it is very gratifying; Jpegs in particular are a great thing. Mine is not a technical review (you can find the specifications everywhere) but it is a gut review, made after a year and a half of use. The pleasure that the XT30 gives me is unique. I can't find a fault with it.

Pros: Compact, light, well built. Very attractive design.

Cons: Overall file quality disappointing. Only with daytime photos are the pictures good. Insufficient grip.

The files didn't convince me; With daylight no problem but just go down just (even during the afternoon when the light is not lacking) that brings out all the limits of digital noise, and poor responsiveness. Used with different optics, including bright ones, I often had to use it with partial or spot exposure to be able to better manage the light. With Nikon d600 and d7200 I've never seen so much noise with the same optics, iso etc... The "Q" key is in such an awkward position that I had to deactivate it in order not to make it operational when it is not needed. Good film simulation, perhaps one of the best features of fuji.. But even here, shooting in RAW, I didn't use them in camera but from a PC and unfortunately the simulations are only available by connecting the camera to the PC and leaving the latter the work of processing the RAW files with considerable slowdown. A real shame.. I switched to Sony mirrorless.

The malleability of the images and the detail provided are excellent and even if the exposure is not perfect it is always possible to overturn the result in post. A real pleasure to carry around, along with the 16-80/4 represents a superb combination in the travel photo.

Pros: Small, light, aesthetically very beautiful and well-kept, excellent file, film profiles, good high iso seal, AF-S very fast.

Cons: The viewfinder is really crap, ridiculous buffer, a few customizable keys, system of shortcuts with the swipe that every time you accidentally support nose on the display open the settings, absurd and messy menu, very slow in transferring photos to smartphones, Q button put in an absolutely uncomfortable position that practically every time you pick up the camera you press it, front and rear rings with pressure function that are often pressed unintentionally.

Opinion: Camera taken as an "alternative" second body to be used without too many slams and without great pretensions. The machine on an aesthetic level is really beautiful and well made, materials pleasant to the touch, upper rings very well made and with the right hardness, small, light, compact. The raw file it produces is great in my opinion when compared to other aps-c cameras. The viewfinder is unfortunately a real key... small, poorly defined and far in the display, if you use the magnification for manual focusing it is not sharp and resolute enough to allow an easy focus, the peaking is very approximate and the other functions of aid to manual focus are practically toys. Display in the norm does its job without infamy and without praise. The autofocus... in AF-S nothing to dispute, it is fine and is very fast, in af-c it is absolutely unreliable in any mode and with any setting, same thing as regards tracking. Face and eye recognition work but certainly do not shine for efficiency, often the machine loses the eye of the subject and sometimes recognizes random faces where there are none and does not recognize that of the subject. The RAW file as I said above is excellent with a respectable dynamic range, little noise at high iso compared to other aps-c of other brands, quite malleable in post-production. The bursts are selectable according to the type of shutter, in mechanical up to 8 fps, in electronic up to 30 shots per second ... but the buffer is absolutely ridiculous... only 17 shots in raw, in practice at 30 shots per second you have "well" half a second of continuous shots The menu is a real mess in the arrangement of the functions, often you have functions that cannot be selected and there is no explanation of why or what other setting conflicts with the non-selectable one. Hour... coming to the practical side of using the camera I can say that I am very satisfied with the file it produces, the size, the aesthetics and the shooting feeling it returns, it is pleasant to take pictures of us despite all the negative sides that I found him. Film profiles are a gem and produce excellent JPEGs. At the end of the day for the use that I have to do is fine, it will remain forever a second body to make us landscape, street and souvenir photos of gitarelle ... but that's why I bought it and that's okay.

Opinion: Taken to support the Nikon z6, and have a second compact camera (I preferred it to the nikon zfc for the greater compactness and because in any case I would not have used the nikon optics that I have as it would have failed the main reason why I took it, or the portability) excellent to carry it with you in bike rides or in challenging mountain rides where weight makes the difference or for the street. It is really an excellent camera, very intuitive to use, I shoot only in manual or aperture priority and I find it very comfortable and practical to use. The sensor has excellent performance to be an aps-c, the dynamic range is good, the recovery of shadows is detached by about one stop from the z6 (which is an FF) the seal at high iso also good even if for my kind of photo I always shoot at iso 100 (with fuji at iso160) and very rarely I arrive or go beyond iso 1600. As with Nikon I always shoot in raw by disabling all the corrections (high iso noise, long exposures etc.) the files must however be managed with the capture one software as the xtrans sensor and lightroom do not go hand in hand. I use / use it only with light and compact optics, and despite having quite large hands, I feel good about it, clearly I would not use it with heavy optics as it has zero grip and I would be obliged to buy the handle, which I will never do. It only has a memory slot but I do not find it a dramatic thing, instead a little more inconvenient the fact that the memory slot is located "in the battery compartment" and not at the side of the body. For my use and as a second body it is perfect, if I had wanted to take a fuji as the first body I would have gone xt-4 for tropicalization and greater grip (the sensor is the same), but at the moment as the first body I prefer the full format. I do not make considerations about the af as I mainly do landscape photos and therefore I do not need great performances. The only real flaw is the lack of tropicalization, so you have to be very careful with water and dust.
