The focus ring with manual af unlock I found it really uncomfortable, I much prefer the free ring as on the 35mm 1.4 R, this would have allowed you to focus automatically but at the same time activate A + M, necessary to correct where the camera was wrong fire. The lens itself would be superb, a bit soft at 1.4 but for me it was not a problem, indeed, I am not a fun of absolute sharpness. The backfocus I found though was excessive. A problem that already occurs at short distances, in a reduced way, and then increases at long distances. The beauty is that we don't talk about it... or we don't talk about it enough. I had to dig well on the net before I came across a topic on Dp review where several complained about this defect (a guy had come to change 5 copies).
