Then it is about a 35 equivalent which is my favorite focal length and therefore even in daily use it is more than perfect when doing reportage or travel photos. Of course, during the day I prefer to attack the 16-80, but as soon as evening falls, this wins and I prefer it. The quality is indisputable. Regarding the ring, unfortunately sometimes I found it moved from A and the values start from f/16 making me find myself with some unexpected dark shots. Just be careful. It is certainly the only Fuji lens with such a soft ring. It's the only thing I would improve. For the rest, it wasn't water resistant, I knew.

The lens is well built, has an excellent three-dimensionality, turns out to be compact, the focus although slow and noisy for static or not very dynamic shots turns out to be reliable, while in continuous focus it is too slow. The focus ring with manual af unlock I found it really uncomfortable, I much prefer the free ring as on the 35mm 1.4 R, this would have allowed you to focus automatically but at the same time activate A + M, necessary to correct where the camera was wrong fire. Another thing that I did not like, the diaphragm ring too soft, it was enough to touch it to move it as well as there is no block on A. The optics are not tropicalized and during demanding trips it could bring dust to the sensor. Original horrendous hood and replaced with the JJC all-aluminum. Opinion: Purchased and then resold. Used only half a day... I couldn't believe my eyes! I thought that problems like the Back focus on mirrorless system were just a memory... But I was wrong. The lens itself would be superb, a bit soft at 1.4 but for me it was not a problem, indeed, I am not a fun of absolute sharpness. The backfocus I found though was excessive. A problem that already occurs at short distances, in a reduced way, and then increases at long distances. The beauty is that we don't talk about it... or we don't talk about it enough. I had to dig well on the net before I came across a topic on Dp review where several complained about this defect (a guy had come to change 5 copies). Magnificent lens if it works, but the purchase is a lottery, strange really that in the various video tests on youtube no one talks about it ...
