I wanted a car that didn't give much in the eye and comfortable to carry during my travels and explorations; I must say that paired with the 9 mm Laowa f/2.8 and the 22 mm Canon f/2 becomes perfect for this purpose: it practically looks like a compact. Although there are not many native Canon M lenses, there are several solutions from other manufacturers (Sigma Contemporary series on all) and through adapter you can use all EF lenses (including L series); every now and then I use it with the Canon 17-55 f/2.8 even if in this case, in my opinion, given the size of the barrel, you lose a bit the sense of having such a small camera body. The 32 megapixel sensor churns out excellent files with a decent level of detail (even in crop) and that I often use even without post producing; I noticed the presence of a little noise already at low iso, but nothing annoying. The files are easily usable up to iso 3200 with some small correction in post. Every now and then I also went up to iso 6400 still managing to use the photos. Nice idea of being able to extract the viewfinder and use the screen as if it were a smartphone; however, with the viewfinder mounted, the tilting screen is practically unusable. The autonomy of the battery does not make you cry out for a miracle: I usually always carry a couple of batteries behind me. Ultimately I am overjoyed and I recommend the purchase especially to those like me who love to turn light.

I took it despite knowing that soon the M line will die because I wanted to make the leap in MP and burst quality from my old 70D and I didn't want to wait for the new APS-C with RF attack. The thing I immediately liked about the car was the lightning and super precise focus, then now that I've also taken the 70-300 L IS USM it's a pleasure to go and take pictures of the animals. Another thing I liked is the separate EVF. Depending on what I do I keep it mounted or not (street photography and macro on easel I do not keep it, while birdlife yes). For birdlife it is very convenient to focus by looking into the viewfinder and touching the screen and using it as if it were a joystick. At high ISOs it holds up to 3200 ISOs quite well, beyond the files they are almost unusable. For macro photos I do I'm usually super happy because so natively I have bigger files to be able to print fine art without having to go into oversampling. Video side I haven't used it yet. During the purchase phase you have to almost compulsorily take the peak design plate that allows you to decentrall it, thus making the battery accessible by holding the plate attached, an additional battery, a UHS-II SD.

Not having the fixed viewfinder frankly is not a problem, I preferred compactness and all the adjustments under my fingers. Very happy with the purchase, after 6 months of use, I confirm that I am always happier with my choice.

Opinion: The M6 MKII is a real gem, phenomenal sensor, good not to say great Dynamic Range up to 800 iso, fantastic recovery of shadows up to 3 stops without losing anything, on the lights I would say just under 2 stop. The noise is almost non-existent up to 800 Iso, very light and beautiful to see from 1000 to 3200, above 3200 up to 6400 light and the shots usable with a slight choreography in the post. Af amazing, very good traking and eye recognition. The only flaw is the battery life, I always take 3 spares to stay quiet. Beautiful focus stacking automation. My main body is the 7D MKII but the small one for sensor quality and therefore image maybe is also superior, also it is a pleasure to photograph us for its lightness seems not to have it. Rating 9.5 half a point less for the battery.
