Pros: Eas of use / picture quality / toughness

Cons: AF system very simple / response quiet slow

Opinion: I bought this camera 2nd hand, cause i always wanted to go full frame, but never had the will to spend so much money for it. I use this camera together with my 7D mk1, but i must admitt that i do like the 7D more then the 5D. Also i don´t se a diffrence in picturequality between the two. The only real benefit i see for using the 5D is the availability of 50mm lenses on the market. For the APS-C camera You have a quite limited offer of 30mm lenses, that will equal a 50mm on a full frame camera. So in terms of picture quality i would not recommend to go for a full frame if You already do have a APS-C camera. One big advantage of the old 5D mkII is its eas of use. The menues are not too complex, as on modern cameras. You will get quit easy along with the menu structure and the handling of the camera. Verdict: The 5D mkII is still in my opinion a very good camera, but not better then a APS-C camera that You can buy for the same money on the 2nd hand market.

Pros: Full Frame. Image quality. Intuitive ergonomics and menu. Juicy LP-E6 battery, shared among many prosumer EOS cameras. CF card slot. mRAW, sRAW. Rugged construction. And a vast EF lens family to play with.

Cons: Shadow recovery isn't that great. Consumer grade AF. Only 3.9fps. Fixed LCD. And a bit heavy.

Opinion: It's a great tool for many deeds. 22mp in its time was the state-of-the-art imaging sensor with 1080p video/LiveView features and to this day those pictures hold their ground well. Nice LCD quality and size, but it doesn't really work well in bright sunlight, which is only normal, I guess. Now, being a decade old camera, it's a fantastic camera to start with for any beginner, photography enthusiast, because it can be had used for less than a brand new Rebel class DSLR (less than $600), which is crazy and fantastic. IMHO, CF card is a faster and much safer media to deal with, than SD, but, if needed, SD can be easily adopted via CF-to-SD adapter.

Pros: RAW files,price(used),simple,robust,battery life

Cons: Iso too high, file shadow recovery, , AF points other than the center one

Opinion: After years of using the Canon EOS 1000D, switching to the 5D Mark II was a step change. The difference in image quality and user experience is impressive, making this model an excellent choice for those looking for a full-frame DSLR capable of offering high-quality files at an affordable price today. The Canon 5D Mark II is a camera that has made history and that, despite its technological limitations compared to newer models, still offers high-level image quality today. The rendering of colors and files is simply exceptional. The tones are natural and well-balanced, and the dynamic range allows you to capture plenty of detail, both in the shadows and highlights. The camera is certainly heavy, but I find it very comfortable to hold thanks to its well-thought-out ergonomics. It conveys a feeling of solidity and security during use. The autofocus, especially on points other than the center one, is sometimes a bit slow or uncertain, especially in low light conditions. Although the quality is excellent up to ISO 800-1600, beyond this threshold the noise becomes progressively noticeable, limiting use in low-light situations without accessories such as a flash or very bright lenses. A step up from the 1000D: Going from the 1000D to the 5D Mark II was like stepping into another dimension. File quality, color rendition, and overall performance are on a completely different level. The Canon 5D Mark II is a camera that continues to amaze me every time I use it. The transition from the 1000D allowed me to appreciate even more the importance of a good full-frame sensor and the optical quality offered by EF lenses. Despite some shortcomings compared to more modern cameras, it remains a fantastic choice for those who want to focus on image quality and the pure photographic experience.

Pros: A tank!

Cons: The limited isos

Opinion: A war machine. As soon as you pick it up, you can feel the sturdiness. Used with fast lenses (f1.8 and f2.8) it is exceptional. When you're using it indoors with lenses like 17-40 f.4 L, you need the help of the flash. At iso above 2000 the photographs are noisy. However, it remains, despite today's current technology, a very good product. I gave it away because my type of photography needs to work at high iso given the environments with low light and the use without a tripod. I upgraded to the next version just for these reasons, because otherwise it's a great machine.

Pros: All.. In itself it is the perfect machine.

Cons: The only con is that it was no longer produced.

Opinion: A full-fledged professional machine. File quality, speed and resistance to heavy and continuous work, infinite batteries, heavy and very solid. Minimal and simple menu. Easy management of menus and their items, Practical for most uses, from still-life to weddings. A machine that I will continue to use until I die. mine or his.. I didn't find the same feeling with other cameras that I found with the 5D MKII. Although it is starting to get older, it remains the room with which I produce the most photos and which I feel confident in every occasion. Also used for videos it has never disappointed me. If you then forget that it's professional and start playing with it, then it becomes even more interesting. It is useless to compare it to today's reflex or mirrorless cameras, but I would recommend it to those who want to do photography.
