Pros: Lofty construction, colossal optical yield, f/2 aperture untraceable on a macro (albeit 1:2)

Cons: Construction (the metal scratches too easily, just a nothing to find scratch or paint stripping), MAF eternal ring, tropicalization very bad

Opinion: I tried to roll out the dough with this lens, but it failed. How come? Is it not suitable to roll out the dough? I thought for what it cost at least as a rolling pin was usable. Joking aside (embarrassing reviews at the limit of trash), it's not a lens for everyone, and I've been disappointed for reasons inherent in the construction. The optical quality is excellent, from the sharpness to the micro-contrast, the praises that are read online are all justified. Its ductility is not a small value, it manages to unravel in a phenomenal way in portraiture, despite the words "Makro". The aperture f/2 is unique in this focal range, and it helps to "macro" magnifications to have excellent results of blur despite the maximum ratio of 1:2. The construction is completely metal, even the lens hood. If on the one hand this gives back an exceptional feeling, at the slightest touch the paint will jump, and the "lived" look is around the corner. Needless to mention AC, bokeh and colors, in a similar lens it is assumed that everything is at the top. Too bad for the eternal MF ring, probably exaggerated in the extension. The lens lengthens by doubling its length, does not have internal rotation as on a 100 L Macro or a 90 G Sony. After I bought it, 3 days and I found a touch of dust of about 1mm in the central group of lenses. It was probably already there, or maybe it came out of nowhere while it was in my case, made a dust resistance so low in such an expensive lens is simply inadmissible. It is not the first Zeiss in which I find myself a type of scaffold inside, already had experience with a Batis 85 1.8. The yield is not affected, the problem lies in the possible emergence of moulds that would find ideal nourishment in a similar granellone. In essence I would buy it again, because anyway as optical quality and "prestige" is unreachable, but I recommend to look very carefully at the lenses and be sure that they are clean. I had bought it online I could not tell, and alas I believed in a greater seriousness from the shop that I will not name.

Pros: manufacture, color, precise focus, bokeh

Cons: Slow focus and manual only, lack of optical stabilization, almost poor indoors and with high ISO

Opinion: Premise: With this lens taken used by a month, I entered the Zeiss world and Macro photo. Also, I want to point out that I shoot with a Nikon D7500, also advance this, because as many of you know, the sensor/optical pairing is not always just a matter of budget. Given the necessary premise, I wanted to know if it is normal that I can never pull out photos that satisfy me in closed environments and/or with high ISO; For high I mean between 650 and 1200. Do you also have the same experience? are Makro lenses only from outside? Or is it a lens designed for FF sensors that Mal marries with the APS-C of my D7500; Which by the way also has a low density and resolution?! Frankly having read some absurd reviews about this lens, I was expecting something more; But maybe I'm making a wrong use of it. 1) gastronomy. I hope that those who have fun to make jokes, have read my post (and understand the meaning), I have already made it a newcomer to the macro photo and the world Zeiss; What more do I need to do? And then I was hoping that in serious blogs like these, it was appreciated a little intellectual honesty. I have done macro photos outside and it is exceptional; But if one asked me if it is the double nicer (since it costs twice as much) of the Nikon AF-S 105mm f/2.8 G ED VR Micro (which among other things has stabilization and AF); I don't feel like saying that. 2) high ISO. That is really Marco50 you amaze that on your FF machine that costs twice as my you have a better yield/resistance to high ISO??!? What about?!? Crazy:-o Sincerely to read your reactions, you make me come the doubt that you speak more by faith than for anything else... Since I got it I have not disconnected from the machine (and I have a Nikkor 16-80mm f2.8-4, and a Nikkor 50mm f1.4), and I can confirm that those few times I comeback the Nikon zoom, the feeling is embarrassing, plasticous etc; But one of my doubts is that maybe it is a lens born for FF sensors and maybe rich and dense pixel, etc. and I confirm, indoors, in the house, even in the daytime, I do not notice this excellent quality, if then the other vs optics are of the 18-55mm , then I understand a little.... Thank you

Pros: Construction, materials, sharpness

Cons: Cost, certainly related to the value of the object but anyway as for all the zeiss

Opinion: I'm telling the truth, I've always found it so good with my beautiful Nikon AFS-G all f 1.4 (24, 35, 85) since I've never felt the need to try Cosina-Zeiss's manual focus stuff, celebrated it was. In fact, I've always seen it as a radical chic stuff, like a bar. And then ... then destiny wanted to punish me by dropping a good opportunity to buy this blessed macro planar! I was basing myself on the first contact, finally getting to touch metal and glass as in the good times of the AIs. And then the test, which confirmed how good it is said around: on the 36 mpxl I found overwhelming sharpness accompanied by an excellent bokeh, high contrast and 3d effect, vibrant but true colors. It is necessary to say that general purpose centering the TA maf is really a lottery with the slides of modern reflexes, but closing just does not have any problems. Until about a year ago, when it came to production, it cost about 1800 euros Fowa, namely regular import, and that price is nothigh enough for what the optic returns. How did it end? Well, of course I'm kept the macro planar and I'm also looking for 15 mm ZF.2, you never know, better to abound ....

Pros: Maximum levels for construction, Compactness, Sharpness Extreme from f / 2.8 Excellent f / 2, Defocused from Scream, ring Focus Phenomenal As per tradition Zeiss, Zeiss Colors, 3D Zeiss, Zeiss contrast, ring diaphragms

Cons: Generates dependence, Difficult Center the Fire Without a slide Broken, Lack rubber ring on the attack Bayonet, Price

Opinion: In my opinion one of the best lenses in circulation together with Otus, the APO 135 and 200 f / 2 Nikkor. This, however, has an edge as it allows a reproduction ratio of 1: 2 and is very versatile, of FF you can do everything from landscape to macro push (perhaps with the addition of some extension tube). Sharpest already in TA just close one stop to reach perfection. But for those not accustomed to surrender Zeiss sharpness is definitely not the most important factor: the colors, contrast, shadows and open the feeling of diversity of images than any other lens are top category of its own. Seeing is believing. Price of the new rather high (about 1600 Gar. Italy) with devaluation of used quite marked: if you find it used in very good condition is an investment, I doubt that will lose value and never drop below 1000 ... Use with caution, generates great dependence and get used to the eye images almostperfect, unmatched by any other purpose except for other Zeiss.

Pros: Compact, indestructible, magical

Cons: I believe that the Zeiss will depreciate much compared to new, probably due to the extremely low demand. For those who find the used is a pro.rnNoto also that the construction and the maf zeiss manual tend to become a hard drug, any other optical looks like a toy. This is a counter for the portfolio ...

Opinion: What to say: close to perfection. Built impeccably could be passed down to their children like clockwork level. A razor definition and a machine for cream in the bokeh, the subject emerges from a delicate background and painting. Colors and exceptional contrast. Ring that rotates 360 for a maf that is an experience apart. It seems that there is a devil inside of Boltzmann putting in place the pixels one by one ... Try an optical distortion 1% and then try this that does not distort at all ... A world apart from Zeiss, enter it and you will understand : even a simple UV filter is "different" ...

Pros: All

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I'm a couple of days that I feel this lens and I can only say that it is wonderful and worth every centesimo.rnRende of wonderful colors to any opening, 3D returns is something fenomenale.rnL 'only important point to consider is the choice of the Mass manual focus even if it is really easy (I'm a beginner and port glasses as well), but substantially prevents the capture of moving subjects, and not indifferent, forces us to think the shot with the consequent need for time ..... rnHo had from Nikon to Sigma ... I love this light so much so that I got well and probably 21'll get rid of all other fixed and zoom lenses except the 35 sigma art.rnConsiderate that the use is MOOLTO various ... from the landscape through the portrait until the macro ... try credere.rnSe you can ... do not hesitate.

Pros: Optical quality at the highest levels even at full aperture with sharpness and microcontrast at the top of the board on board, rich tonal transactions with cool but intense colors typical of Zeiss, made even more incredible with latest generation sensors (D800, 5D3)

Cons: In some situations with strong bright contrast a bit of longitudinal chromatic aberration, only noticeable to TA.

Opinion: An optic I use for 3 years, first with the D700 now with the D800 on which it has more gear. Its strength apart from the high-quality optical quality is the utmost versatility and field of use. You can make macros (1: 2), portraits even close, or use it as generic canvas. The construction is typical of zeiss optics, completely metal, robust and finely finished made to last in time. The MAF manual can be a problem but personally it is not because the ring is very precise

Pros: Construction, ring focus, bokeh

Cons: nothing to report.

Opinion: Excellent lens. a little expensive but when you start to use it you forget the price ... great bokeh and crystal clear already the maximum aperture difficult to detach it from my Nikon D800. rnConfrontando other macro lenses in its class, we realize that it lacks the stabilizer (such as other zeiss optics of course), but the maximum aperture F2 pays as well as the lack of AF in exchange you have a nut and buttery to the touch after sensational ... the nikkor 200mm f2 this is the best lens I used.

Pros: Smaller, faster, color rendition. Well, needless to repeat, mechanical unsurpassed! Made a little 'more surgical than the Contax Zeiss 100f2 even exceptional. Last but not least, by resolution record! Next!! (Zeiss always, of course!).

Cons: In certain situations with strong contrast longitudinal chromatic aberration but only on TA. Again, only in a few situations and with certain combinations of light-contrast.

Opinion: A fantastic lens for the pros listed. Bokeh well structured, versatile for street, macro and portraits. Microcontrast that distinguishes these realizations optical Teutonic school for decades. Although macro 1:2 ratio, you can take wonderful shots at close range (about 40 cm). I do not would replace with the excellent canon 100 macro and had in the past with other qualities. Recommended to all those who want to add a little 'personality and art with respect to all automatic!

Pros: Excellent optical quality and constructive

Cons: none

Opinion: Excellent quality already at room temperature, blurred magnificent, the focus ring has excellent movement and precision. Lens is superb for portraits and for macro, contrast, sharpness, and excellent color rendering is of FF on aps-C. Dof scale for hyperfocal very precise. The cost is justified by its elevatissina quality. Solves the large sensors of 5dmark II and 7D, the latter of exceptional machine, the management of high iso improves incredibly. Highly recommended!

Pros: outstanding optical quality, impeccable construction

Cons: none

Opinion: I purchased this light recently and was amazed by its optical quality, even at full aperture. Photographer since 1969 and had never experienced anything like that. The sharpness is nothing short of disarming, to the edges. The blur is nice, high contrast, color rendition pleasant. A true gem, certainly expensive, but worth the money. It beats the great canon and its equivalent in a clear manner than even the 70/200 f: 2.8 Type II. It handles well in what is in your hand naturally and focheggia manually without problems thanks to an excellent ring. Obviously it is only recommended for those who, like me, do not hurry in taking.
