Pros: Excellent bubble bokeh, it offers the possibility of artistic experimentation at a ridiculously low price.

Cons: The coating materials are of poor quality,In the focus ring the paint discolored only after two days of heavy use.

Opinion: Excellent lens that keeps its promises by offering a very pleasant bubble bokeh, this depends a lot on the conditions of the light points in the background. At a fifth of the price of the Trioplan you can experiment with this effect, I find it very fun and useful for experimenting with almost pictorial artistic effects. For me promoted, I sincerely recommend it and in my opinion it is a valid lens to have in your kit.

Pros: Bubble blur at a ridiculously low price. Metal and glass, including screw caps. No plastic

Cons: Softness at full aperture and not only, but you certainly don't buy it for sharpness.

Opinion: Taken used a few days ago, I immediately had a good tactile impression, no plastics, only metal and glass, including screw caps. Cute packaging. M42 connection. Lens hood not included. The Meyer 100 Trioplan is fashionable and with decidedly unaffordable prices in my opinion. The new Trioplan II costs a thousand coffees and this one costs 1/5, probably with the same blur, so I went fast on this model and I'm happy with it, obviously knowing what you're looking for. 13-blade diaphragm and blurring of the bright spots always circular. Soft at T.A. and also aperture, the Nikkor 100 f/2.8 E-series has a much higher sharpness. But this one is taken x the blur and it certainly does not disappoint.

Pros: Blur and creative possibilities

Cons: Maybe just the length when fitted with adapter and tubes... for the rest nothing

Opinion: Taken for the creative possibilities that such a lens can provide and for the price it is completely worth it, I would never have spent on a Meyer... Actually, the way I set it up made me have a lot of fun, both with flowers and with subjects. Using a fully manual lens for me is always fascinating, it forces you to think more about the shot and all the beautiful things about photography. The screw cap for me is a pro... It's comfortable and doesn't jump away.

Pros: A Trioplan 100 2.8 that costs a fifth of the price on the new

Cons: All manual and without electrical contacts marks f0 in exif like all lenses without contacts. Lack of lens hood which is mandatory

Opinion: For those looking for the Trioplan effect this is the perfect lens, I also had the latest Meyer version and they are identical in final rendering, metal construction, the only relevant difference is that to mount this you have to buy an M42 adapter. Another small difference is that this one comes without a lens hood but you just need to buy a 049 metal screw one on Amazon and it is mandatory in my opinion because of the ease with which the flare impacts the image using this lens. To get the desired effect you have to look for the right background and light, it is not obvious and it also applies to the Trioplan. For the rest nothing to say, what it gives at a fraction of the price compared to the original is worth the expense of the 199 euros it costs but you have to know what you are buying, vote 10 for those like me who know what they buy and maybe 7 or less for those who buy randomly. Hi PS.. The cap is screw-on and for some it may be a con, I say this for the sake of completeness

Pros: Sturdy construction, smaller dimensions than I imagined, much lower price compared to the new Mayer Trioplan.

Cons: Since there are no electrical contacts, you work completely manually and consequently you don't have any Exif data. You have to buy an adapter separately to be able to mount it, having only the M42 screw connection.

Opinion: It's a difficult lens as it's not at all obvious to get the background with "soap bubbles". You have to make several attempts before you get the desired effect. Allow me to recommend some suggestions: - any attempt on a dark background without light sources will be in vain; - The lens is at its best in close-up photography. Since the minimum focusing distance is high (only 90cm), I used Meike's extension rings, which have the dual purpose of being able to get closer to the subject and, by making you lose focus at infinity, further blur the background obtaining a more "creamy" and homogeneous one, better highlighting the "bubbles"; - to obtain the "bubbles" there must be more lights in the background, better if they are far from the subject; - The greatest effect is at f/2.8. By closing the diaphragm, the "bubble" effect diminishes; - a slight overexposure makes the image more delicate and fairytale-like; - Being a "soft" lens, focusing is difficult. It is advisable to work with the tripod and observe the magnified image in live view on the LCD display for a more accurate focus on the desired point; - Use a remote shutter release to avoid blur. Out of curiosity, the photo of the daffodils was elaborated on the windowsill of the kitchen, using the neighbor's hedge about 5 meters away as a background. The "soap bubbles" effect is due to the sun's rays infiltrating between the leaves.
