sent on September 17, 2021 Pros: Yield, sharpness, bokeh, dimensions, materials Cons: Does it have any? Opinion: Few times have I found a lens with so many merits and I would say ... no defects. This 24mm f/1.4 GM is impressive. it is small, light and gm materials are the best ever in my opinion (like the top of the range Canon and Nikon). it is clear already all open and the colors are beautiful and faithful. To amaze is the range of situations in which it excels: it is very good in portraits, because the blurred is very soft and the detachment of planes surprising for a 24mm, it is good in landscapes, it is good in interiors and also in astrophotography thanks to the f/1.4 aperture. If you are looking for a 35mm but also want a wide angle, this is the perfect lens. I use it as a 35mm crop the images or cropping them to the PC, but when I want I have a 24mm without having to change lenses. |
sent on March 06, 2021 Pros: construction, ottich performance, compactness Cons: Flare Opinion: I am an "animal" from 24-50-135. I waited a long time for this 24 and exceeded my rosiest expectations. my use is more direct to the portrait set and I just love it! allows you to contextualize scenes of manual work, or set portraits. the minimum distance of MAF allows excellent use also the macro and flora. the diaphragm ring, as for all GOs, is extraordinarily comfortable. optical performance is also exceptional at 42mp. there is no sign of aberrations (often visible on these large limonosis angles), while contrast and resolution are simply perfect. Only one mole has this 24: flares. as long as the lumonous source is within 1/3 of the center of the frame everything is ok. but beyond it creates green flares that are really difficult to control and even more to delete in posts. |
sent on February 26, 2021 Pros: materials, yield, aesthetics Cons: nobody Opinion: He's my first GM and, you know, the first GM never forgets! Until now I had focused on climbing to the body of the car which, as far as I am concerned, happily stopped at the A9. Now the one for the lenses begins, much more demanding (wonderful the A1 but we talk about it again when I have completed my GM kit, and it will take time!). I own my beloved Sony 55 f/1.8 and, until I bought this wonder, the Sony 28 f/2 I gave back (plus a 35 f/1.4 7artisans that I use as a card stopper). Well, this 24 GM literally left me speechless. I feel like I have new shooting and composition possibilities. On the 28th, if, for example, I got too close, portraits were impossible. With this 24, NO! But the backlights! He reacts beautifully. The colors, beautiful. The blurry, romantic. I could define this lens in one word: cinematic. Aesthetically and as materials it is at the top. The diaphragm ring on the barrel, then, I love it. Initially, having only very light lenses and a really small size, I thought it was slightly challenging, compared to 55 and 28. As everything is relative. But in fact, after a couple of months of use, I can say that it is not at all, challenging. indeed! Since I had it, I've never detached it from the car yet to replace it with the 55. I can't do it. It's too good to use! No doubt it's Love, and the 55th starts to get jealous. :))) |
sent on January 20, 2021 Pros: Compactness for both weight and size, optical quality, minimal if non-existent distortion, diaphragm ring, minimum focus distance Cons: I didn't find against objective Opinion: The best lens I've ever had, no doubt. Crisp, light and compact, bright, practically distortion-free, it even has a good minimum focus distance. I sold it because my needs led me to a 16-35 rather than a fixed 24, but that's not why I can talk about this lens from an objective point of view. I've taken set portraits, landscapes, details, anything, and every shot amazes with its sharpness, I assure you. If you are looking for a bright and versatile lens you will not be disappointed by the 24GM. True, it's an expensive lens, but all 24mm f/1.4 costs money, and in my opinion the Sony beats them all hands down. Look for some used (rare because usually those who buy it if they keep it) or some Cashback to reduce the expense, but it is worth every euro spent even again. |
sent on January 13, 2021 Pros: Compatezza, Optical Quality, Quality of Materials, Functions, Unique Blurry Cons: None (maybe the price, but often with Cashback you take home much less than the price list) Opinion: An optics for me to have at all costs for the Sony FE system (obviously if you prefer wide angles slightly more than the more standard focal points). After taking the Zeiss 55mm 1.8, I wanted another quality fix to match my A7III, and after many but many ratings (also in the Zoom field), I decided to take this little beast, and I never regretted it. As others have said, a beautiful portable, light, compact "Bowler hat" (for focal and opening), with an optical quality obviously at the TOP, with all the manual functions you would expect from a high-end lens. In short, real defects for me does not have any, only the price that remains is high in general, but very good in terms of quality / price (especially with discounts + cashback at some time of the year). I mean, give us more than one thought, you won't regret it! |
sent on September 04, 2020 Pros: Extraordinary Cons: Nothing Opinion: Just taken. Tested for a couple of weeks. It's one of those optics that if we were in a video game it would be the so-called "pay to win" package. The price is not trivial, but it is reliable, light, it has everything you need. I mean, a cannon. In fact, perhaps because of the form, a bomb. Defined, bright, excelled in video and instant autofocus. You don't even think about it, you don't even surprise what you do because at some point you use it naturally as if it were a third eye. Using it becomes as natural as breathing. |
sent on May 23, 2020 Pros: All Cons: I can't find any Opinion: It's the perfect optics, a 1.4 that weighs 4 ects, monstre resolution, instant AF, diaphragms ring, built very well... At 1.4 he splits the hair with a sweet vignette, at 5.6 solves anything from board to board, has a right contrast lights/shadows, on 24 mpx never pulled out AC obvious, I used it on the snow, under the sun, under the stars, wind, sand... He has never made a crease, he has a very low coma at 1.4, it means photographing the Milky Way at TA without the slightest noise and lifting the exposure of the ground without having to double click... Pure science fiction until very soon. It's also an incredible portrait weapon, a wide with a huge bokeh, it doesn't undo the background like a 135 but makes it suffused, readable but extremely soft. It is a lens that alone is worth the system and could even be enough as the only lens (I pair a 75) because as I say since the 16 fuji, the wide 1.4 is the real all-rounder |
sent on November 09, 2019 Pros: Small size, excellent image quality, diaphragm diaphragm dial with declick, light, price Cons: Nothing Opinion: Speechless. Small, with a bokeh that does not look like a 24mm, very bright, a very solid construction, tropicalized, AF inaudible (and precise of course ), super contained distortion... I don't know what to say, it's clearly the perfect 24mm. It will have some AC in absurd light conditions, but the size greatly outclass this defect. By the way, we are not talking about ACs always present, but extreme backlit conditions. Any other lens has similar problems. There is not one that in any light condition does not show the slightest hint of AC. The fact is that this lens having no other existing defect... well something has to be written in the reviews, Nikon-Canon still something pagan. You have the choice, but for me this lens is phenomenal. The price also seems to me strongly in line with the offer (about 1300-1400th cashback and the like ), which results in the 24mm DEFINITIVE. |
sent on May 25, 2019 Pros: Detail, sharpness, construction and quality, weight and size Cons: Mild chromatic aberration in difficult situations Opinion: It is a lens that transmits excellent sensations to the touch: solid, robust, built with high quality materials, but at the same time compact and light. Since I own it I can not remove it from the camera, in a short time has become my favorite goal. It's versatile, you can photograph landscapes, portraits, details... All with impeccable quality both in the center and at the edges of the image. In situations of difficult light suffers slightly the chromatic aberration, easily eliminable in post production. |
sent on May 21, 2019 Pros: Construction, sharpness, detail, compact Cons: Flare Opinion: And built impeccably, excellent materials which makes it sturdy and compact in size which make it also very portable. At maximum aperture returns a fantastic detail. The lens is free of aberrations and any artifact, but suffers from the effect of flare with both sunlight and artificial light. The blurred and absolutely creamy at maximum opening. |
user102873 ![]() ![]() | sent on December 21, 2018 Pros: Boh, the detail in the center, little chromatic abberration, good autofocus on A7III and not on A7RIII, quite light and compact Cons: Field curvature absolutely intolerable as far as I'm concerned, a bit of distortion but acceptable Opinion: I don't know what to say, I took two, new, under warranty, both returned, both with obvious (and never seen before) field curvature problems on the right side from the "APSC" area to the edge, one thing I can't describe. So much detail and microcontrast in the center, nothing to say, beautiful construction, beautiful the nuts, precise autofocus on A7III, less on A7RIII (but it is precisely this model that is inaccurate with autofocus, I can tolerate it with a reflex, I do not tolerate it from a mirrorless that It is said to be the savior of the world and no, it is not), yes I own (buy with my Dindini) both. The lens is pretty compact and light but this detail thing at the edges up to F4 I don't go down right, things get better from F 5.6 on, every time I have to focus precision on the board to hope to have detail, fortunately I could return them With refund both, I took the Zeiss 25 F2 Batis which I hope is better (but I don't have much doubt). Maybe I was unlucky or maybe I do not know how to use a lens but after repeated tests with my two Sony A7III and A7RIII and Laowa 12 f 2.8, Canon EF 16-35 f 2.8 III, Canon TSE 17 F4L and Zeiss 18 f2.8 Batis I can safely say that it is not Sony that have problems with cent Sensor (I had thought of it in my unbelief) but the Sony 24. Others will be luckier than I do not know what to say. And if I think it was elected lens of the year by DPReview my perplexity increases. Two on two lenses with that problem is not bad eh. Azz. |
