sent on March 30, 2019 Pros: Excellent Quick sharp Stabilizer Cons: Not having it, undervalued optics Opinion: Excellent optics, for sure underestimated and snubled by many, l I found very good great sharpness great blurred MAF fast and really effective stabilizer. Excellent The fact that the stabiliser allows to stabilize both vertically and horizontally, weighs a little bit but slowly it makes us the habit combined with the machine body with grip is balanced optimally recommended |
sent on September 25, 2017 Pros: Great overall quality of pictures, nice colors and bookens, good construction structure, price is worth everything that costs. Cons: An easel bracket is not easy to handle, using the free hand better to remove it. Opinion: I needed a flexible lens for portraiture, but I did not want to invest a remarkable figure (paid a third of the series 2 whitewash though second-hand). RnComperate still used in warranty conditions like the new I waited a few months before reviewing this lens after having tried on several occasions I can say that the results are of considerable value. Excellent overall image quality, for my taste, good color and booken, good construction of the lens structure, also pleasing as aesthetics. Excellent for result and functionality, the two-position stabilizer, the AF is precise and fast even in conditions of light light. At first I noticed immediately that the sharpness (especially 200mm f2.8) was not exactly what made fine micro adjustment (+7 on Canon 5dmk3) became very good even at full opening, already at f3.5 is excel.nncomplex of this lens I can not say that well, I made this choice because I had the opportunity to try the various similar on the market and to date i can say that iPhoto quality is almost the same, perhaps the whistle has slightly something in his favor at TA, but considering the price, I think this optic is a great alternative. It's a good idea to do it professionally. rnHo given a good 10 for quality ratio.rnI can not recommend it. |
sent on September 20, 2017 Pros: Brightness, stabilization, mechanical construction, precise AF and very fast. Cons: nobody Opinion: I've been using it for years on both APS-C and FF sensors, never disappointed. I find it very good already from f / 2.8 excellent from f / 5.6. AF very fast and accurate, exceptional stabilizer. The images are contrasted and crisp with well saturated colors. Definitely a challenging optic to be taken by weight and size (however average for this type of optics). I use it very often with the 2x sigma focal point multiplier for sporting photography with great satisfaction and no big loss in overall performance. Great construction. For me it is promoted with the highest marks. |
user128541 ![]() ![]() | sent on August 01, 2017 Pros: Precise, quick and silent AF, a price appropriate to the design quality. Cons: Weight, but the substance has its weight no? Well, the tripod bracket a little curtain does not excel in the free hand grip, summing it all up, that's fine Opinion: My first telephoto lens stabilized with midfield angle, coupled with the Sigma TC 2001 2X, makes AF a stack in the AF, and from 70-200 gets a 140-400 I lose two stops, but still a light canvas , Then soon I will have interesting material I will publish it. Purchased at a lower price than advertised, for now Thank Sigma |
sent on June 27, 2017 Pros: Sharpness, bumper bag, 3 years warranty, handling, normal stabilizer and panning Cons: The hood Opinion: It is my first telephoto lens worthy of this name, after a series of goals of the category "I would but I can not" type 75-300 and 18-200.rn Quality jump is evident. Great compromise for quality and price, found at 800 new euros on Amazon. The whole opening is excellent. The only real nuisance is the hood that needs to be dismantled and reassembled in its two components before use, as the hood mounted on the reverse prevents access to the zoom ring, of course, with the mounted hood can not be placed in the backpack. Two components because it is necessary to mount an extra ring on the apsc. RnThe focus, at least in my specimen, is quick and precise. A purchase that is highly recommended for those who like me does not do it for professional use.rnColorization and chromatic aberration absent. Remarkable weight as well as all 70 / 200.rn |
sent on June 27, 2017 Pros: Sharpness and contrast, fast and silent autofocus, good construction, relatively light. Good performance if combined with the TC 1.4x APO teleconverter. Low distortion Cons: The stabilizer does not seem up to that of the Nikon 55-300. My sample is back-focus, corrected on camera (-15). Focus breath evident. Stabilizer fragile and subject to breakage. Improved customer support Opinion: It is my first bright canvas, and I am satisfied with it. Returns well-contrasted sharp images, with saturated and captivating colors. The yield with the teleconverter, especially for the contrast, is superior to the Nikon 70-300 VR for FF. The autofocus is quiet and fast, more than the Nikon 70-300 VR (in a test bench, 0.6s for the sigma, 0.7s for the sigma with TC, 0.8s for the Nikon). The stabilizer seems to me lower than that of 55-300, at 200m and 1 / 60s I sometimes discard some shots, something that rarely happened with the Nikon equivalent 450mm. I had to correct the back focus with a -15 in the room. The focus breath is evident, the focal drops to 135mm with the close subjects, but in practice it is not limiting. Distortion, even without correction, is almost imperceptible. Rating 9rnrn ***** REVIEW UPDATE ****** Last summer comes the firmware update for the D600 camera, which adds the compatibility to the AF-P step by step motorized optics. As a result of this updateor, the goal stops working. Contact AD service, which for the sum of 100 € updates the lens firmware, and autofocus calibration. Then for months I can not use it for health problems. When I take it in hand, check the calibration, and nothing seems changed, the correction of -15 is still needed. I report in AD service for the calibration, when I am returned, I notice that the stabilizer no longer works. Another 200 € expense, the reason for the break is attributed to the fact that I did not put the stabilizer OFF before removing the lens, thesis that does not hold in my opinion because in any case I turned off the camera body, and from the noise we understand that this is disabled. In my opinion, even reading on the web, the stabilizer is fragile. However it works now, and the on-camera correction is -3, at least the calibration was successful. |
sent on January 27, 2017 Pros: definition, focus, clarity, precision, stability, color neutrality Cons: weight, size, inability to use the bezel of the mesa in focus when the lens hood is in the rest position is absolutely not a complete failure but it is a good "cannon" Opinion: used several times the poses made with this perspective stand out over any other approach used, both for chromatic range which by definition and sharpness. I used it almost as a macro to the first detailed plans to 2.8, and the result was simply unexpected. The three-dimensional effect is absolutely excellent. great views, great portraits .... A friend of mine gave it to me already asked for the Carnival of Venice where there are really a lot of details to be seized. Absolutely excellent for the price. It immediately equipped with an anti UV filter Hoya Pro ... Even me become more 'pleasant risultato.rn |
sent on January 05, 2017 Pros: AF, stabilizer, returns hot colors, light, price, duplicable. Cons: Soft to TA Opinion: I was torn between the Sigma and Tamron, then I did the first choice is because I use the Sigma 2x doubler of Nikon D7100 and D610 for the sport and because fast locks your subject. On D7100 use it for portraits in marriages and I also like the very pasty Bokeh although TA is very soft, but recover the sharpness with Lightroom or Photoshop. I look forward, if it comes out, the version ART. Currently very satisfied and recommend it. |
sent on July 16, 2016 Pros: Price and quality in construction Cons: Autofocus delicate and stabilizer idem Opinion: A perspective of quality, I initially had the unregulated model that I sold for a Tamron 70/200 which I kept for a few months and sold in perfect condition, are returned to the Sigma this time little stabilizzato.dopo alas I had to replace the engine of a fee stabilizer and one month after repair in the Authorized Milan has strangely broken engine autofocus ... now is being repaired and we truly hope both ultima.Forse with this lens Sigma have been a bit unlucky but resolving the problem is definitely a level lens and doing the ritual incantations recommend it highly, just look at the picture below published. |
sent on January 19, 2016 Pros: Quite sharp at all focal lengths, blur, price Cons: not weather sealed Opinion: Purchased after carefully reading many reviews, my question was whether to take this Sigma or Tamron (discarded the Nikon because of the high price) ... in the end I opted for this little gem. The decision was made after looking closely at the curve of sharpness of 2 objectives reviewed in a magazine. It would seem that the sharpness of the Tamron is great especially the wide- ranging from 100 to 140mm, and 200mm to 70 drops a bit (but I never tried it, I trusted the graphics test of the magazine and some reviews on the web) while the Sigma has a smoother curve at all focal lengths and especially to 200mm (that is a focal length that I use a lot) it does not lose almost nothing in sharpness. Obviously with f2.8 aperture because if you close the aperture already f3,5-4 sharpness becomes optimal at all focal lengths. But I think that a purchaser of a 70-200 f2.8 do it mainly to photograph wide open otherwise what would I buy it? Very good construction, supplied great (there is also the case in the package) And price is not an exaggeration to make this objective a subject of undoubted quality. Only lack: tropicalization. Even I had to calibrate the lens with the micro directly in the room, but once solved the problem usually F / B focus that afflicts almost all Sigma, goes like a dream. So I can be very satisfied with this zoom 70-200, and of course I would recommend it to those who do not want gutted with Nikon ... |
sent on November 04, 2015 Pros: Price, 2.8, fast AF, blurred, stabilizer works well and is quiet, definition 3.5 onwards sublime Cons: Heavy and majestic (as all 70-200 2.8), initially necessitated adjustment of F / B focus (with the car), tropicalization (when needed) Opinion: I bought this lens is not knowing what went on against a 70-200 2.8 and how to handle it. I must say that after some initial difficulties, things went gradually improving. rnSi is certainly a professional lens, the quality is very good already at room temperature and can give fuzzy immensley. 3.5 onwards acquires clarity disarming. Af fast and precise, after making an adjustment in the car made in 10 minutes (my example suffered from front focus). The stabilizer works very well and offers you the opportunity fully stabilized or only on the vertical movements for panning for esempio.rnChe say optical amazing in terms of performance. Only negative in my opinion clutter; not very comfortable to carry for long trips, also certainly does not pass unnoticed .. The rest is definitely worth the expense. |
sent on January 30, 2015 Pros: Decidedly low price. Bright. Auto focus accurately. Silent. Cons: Lack of weather sealing. Inability to use the ring of zooming with the lens hood in its rest position. Opinion: I used this in mind for the first time in South Africa, while on safari ... And it was love at first sight! The quality of the images and 'proved to be ideal (at least in my opinion, since I am not a professional photographer). The AF and 'fast, accurate and quiet enough. The picture clarity is excellent. Than the equivalent Canon missing tropicalization, which I think is a flaw not negligible, given the type of lens and photo which is potentially destined. But it goes without saying 'that costs less than half ... Satisfactory yield coupled with the Sigma 2X TC, although the yield in terms of brightness is affected in a definitive considerevole.rnIn: recommended especially if you want to save money without compromising the quality of the photographic yield. |
sent on December 15, 2014 Pros: Price, solid and careful construction, fast focusing, very effective stabilizer, exceptional sharpness, blurred 2.8 and 4 pleasant; to report the excellent yield, with retention of all the automatisms, in conjunction with Tele Sigma 1.4 with which becomes a 280mm f4, with the maintenance of a superlative picture quality. Cons: No tropicalisation, but who buys it knows. slightly noisy stabilizer. Ferrule zooming unusable and that of the focus almost unusable with the hood in its rest position; "Prosthesis" to adapt the hood to the APS-C cameras somewhat cumbersome, which becomes a problem for the transport ... Opinion: I state that I am not a professional photographer. At first it was the classic marriage of convenience, due to the very competitive price (apart from many flattering reviews) ... the love came very early, especially in the use in portraiture. Someone will turn up their noses, someone else will risk a seizure, but I can not seem to highlight important differences with the shots taken with Nikkor equivalent focal length; I can not vouch for the Canon 70-200, which I never used .. I paid 875 € and with the money saved will buy another pair of lenses or a body Nikon D750; there seems reason enough to buy? |
sent on December 11, 2014 Pros: stabilizer quiet, grand opening, af fast even less than 1.40 m, price. Cons: plasticky touch, not suitable for exits with bad weather Opinion: my first optical 2.8 prof, then i have added a good tamron 24-70 vc 2.8, the difference 'extraordinary for yield also in 1600 iso dark place. then i would like to note the price much less than the competitors species nikon 70-200 2.8 vrii, even if you are not able to make comparisons of quality '. |
sent on August 14, 2014 Pros: AF speed and accuracy, brightness, stabilization, Construction, Look, operation and performance with multipliers Cons: Front cap uncomfortable, Inability to use the ring of MAF with a lens at rest, lack limiter MAF, no weather sealing. Opinion: Having the need to purchase a 70-200 f / 2,8 and not wanting to spend the insane amount requested for the excellent Canon IS II, I have been up to the last undecided between this and the new Sigma Tamron VC USD. After you have read in various forums, especially foreigners, difficulty / inability to use the Tamron and Kenko multipliers (I own the 300 DGX PRO version, which is 1.4 2x), at the end I opted for the Sigma, which in addition everything costs less. The use of 5d MKIII.rnSono very satisfied: the lens looks very good already at room temperature and becomes a razor already diaphragmed f / 3.5, the stabilizer is no less than what I had on bianchino f / 4 L IS and l ' AF is very fast and precise, even in AI Servo. With 2 Kenko works without hesitation and with subtle lighting, even the AF is fast and accurate. The 1.4x is digested very well and the picture quality is very good. The 2x, requires at least one aperture stop, but for non-professional use should be just fine. Weight, whereas flagging &ve; the lightest 70-200 f / 2,8 on the market, and is well distributed, although it can not be regarded as a feather, but still provides easy to use even a free hand, which makes him pardon, in part, the absence of tropicalization (you can not have everything ...). RNA level of construction, both looks holding it in your hand, it seems well made. Collars fluid and pasty, no creaking, very nice collar for her crafty tripod and quick release system. Aesthetically, I find it far superior to the old Sigma projects and all in all "makes her figure." Sottotono only the front cap, difficult to insert or remove the lens hood and a little 'subject to disengage from only barely touched. Conversational the hood, even if it's just plastic (not lined), is sufficiently thick and gives a good feeling of robustezza.rnProssimamente I plan to publish something, but the first impressions of this lens are really good. |
user5755 ![]() ![]() | sent on June 03, 2014 Pros: Quality / Price, sturdy construction, very fast and quiet AF, sharp and good stabilization. Cons: not weather sealed (when needed), stabilizing a bit noisy, does not have the limiter focusing. Opinion: I bought this lens with a bit of envy toward the joint VR2 Nikon envy that has turned into pride in being able to save quite a nest egg. The quality / price ratio depends certainly on his side, taken in short supply at € 837 in December, almost less than half of Nikon. And 'well done, nice and solid to the touch, I have not seen the fragility of the hood that actually suffered a net impact and is still perfect. AF has a precise, fast and silent so as not to notice the focusing. And 'sharp from f4, but I also like the softness at f 2.8 on the portrait, softens the skin defects. Makes a nice and soft bokeh, beautiful colors though prone to cold. I had no problems b / f fokus. I think a little noisy stabilization, is a personal opinion; the lack of weather sealing could be its limit in time especially for dust which may make its entry to the water ina coverage solves the problem. It does not have the limiter on focheggiature as the Nikon in order to make it even faster AF limiting the range, but they are trifles. As said by someone is a good option even for professionals. I use it both on APS-C (d7000) and on FF (d700), I think the yield on a good hair d700 d7000 on the bottom. |
sent on March 03, 2014 Pros: Sharpness, price more advantageous than the brothers nikon and canon, versatile and well built. f 2.8, robust and stable. Cons: Maybe a little 'soft TA Opinion: I purchased this wonderful lens after selling my nikkor 55-300, I have to say I am very very satisfied. I had a lot of satisfaction from that lens and are sure to get something else. I can see in the photos of others (and before too long I'll try it for yourself) that the quality does not lose too much by using the sigma 2x teleconverter. The 70-200 is very sharp pointed, perhaps only flaw is that it is a little soft at room temperature, but considering all points to his advantage ... Considering that it costs about less than half a nikon / canon is an excellent choice even for the professionals. In my opinion a complete goal, saving a nest egg. |
sent on June 07, 2013 Pros: Price (exactly half of Nikon and Canon), Sharpness (2.8 good, very good from 3.5 up), Stability, Robustness, AF very fast, stabilizer equal to their respective brands of the most renowned Cons: Front-Back Focus (mine suffers slightly, nestable in 10 minutes with settings of the reflex), Failure Tropicalisation, Hood of plastichetta, 1.4 m Focus Opinion: Me are given the same day that I left for Norway and what to say ... WOW! After 5 minutes of initial problems Front Back focus (and placed immediately), I have to say that I found there are egregiamente.rnIl lens hood is very cumbersome but also comes in handy as rain, wind, given its size, the ring the tripod is solid and is included with the objective. RNAs my opinion a good buy because of its excellent sharpness and I also believe that I will try to multiply 1.4 x 300mm to arrive at a good, or almost :) RNA times you feel the need to have a focus closer, but it is not a real defect |
sent on May 30, 2013 Pros: Cheap price, focus much faster, less heavy than I expected, very good lens hood, rugged, stabilizer 2 modes of use, ring stand very stable. Cons: Sharpness good, but not to the levels of nikon and canon. It is not sealed. Fast Focus, but not always precise, minimum distance of focusing too long. Opinion: I purchased the excellent price of 890 € this lens on e-bay (from a store in Germany, which is called "fotomarkt"). The structure, construction and design immediately made me a good effect. The focus is very fast, although occasionally goes a little in doubt in finding the right point of maf, but nothing grave.rnStabilizzatore tested up to 3 stops of times less, and I must say that the result was positive. It is not heavy, but not even a feather. Perhaps the only thing I was a little disappointed, but that was to be expected given the price really cheap, it's sharpness. Having tested over the 70-200 f2, 8 Nikkor, unfortunately I noticed a difference, but with a bit of post production are achieved, however some nice fotografie.rnPer the price at which I found it, I'm quite satisfied. Shell out € 2,500 for nikon instead of 890 € for a bit of extra quality is not worth all this price difference, so I recommend to fans :) |
sent on May 25, 2013 Pros: Price (I found it at 820 euro), the presence of stabilization, brightness, tripod mount ring Cons: Weight, lack of weather sealing, the focus ring is too small and with the hood "rest position" difficult to use. Opinion: Sigma 70-200 OS HSM is an excellent goal, perhaps not at the level of the Canon and Nikon, but definitely good. The images that returns are excellent although perhaps at full aperture the file is slightly soft, but you have to be fussy to feel it a real defect. It must be said that it is not a featherweight and mounted on the machine soon began to feel its weight, especially if you are not accustomed to using lenses so "full-bodied". The stabilization is good although a hair under 4 Stop declared by the manufacturer. Too bad for the lack of weather sealing, it would be served, but would have been a gem since its price, that we do not forget, is equal to half of the competitors "branded". I note that the ring of focus is unusable when the lens hood is mounted backwards and used in MF; another location would be better. I never had the chance to try it with multipliers and considered that it could turn into a 400 5.6 IS, not bad. The engine ofthe focus is fast although the lack of selection device of the distance makes it less quick canon. To signal the presence of the ring series for the tripod, saving not just, and the presence of the new sigma finish, more practical and robust, which is more resistant to signs of use. Used in the theater I was always returned good shots. Really recommended if you need 2.8 aperture especially considering the price competitive. Recommended for theater, concerts and indoor sports. If you need that extra edge sharpness and tropicalization take into consideration the Canon f4IS, for the rest of this sigma is a great obiettivo.rnAGGIORNAMENTO: After switching to 6D I can say that this lens has benefited, gaining clarity and yield the focus. I repeat a good buy and a good alternative to the most renowned lenses. |

Cons: not solvable with a weather sealed plastic bag hihi, Heavy not for everyone, cap lens cap too plasticky Opinion: Hello to all concerned of this magnificent glass for NIKON Sigma, with the stabilized version have made a big step forward as you all know, I came from the old version without OS HSM II and since the early shots you will immediately notice the sharpest and performance of the new lens stabilizer helps a lot, (I was able to shoot at 1/25 with tx 2x 400mm) AF tested just as fast as it should but compared to his younger brother I have not seen this already very big difference veloce.rnQuello that left me amazed is coupled to the output of 2x TC SIGMA maybe my lens is a remarkably perfect, used with NO OS model released images in crisp TA f5.6 and f8 but improved slightly in aberrations with violets on all the edges of little use as long as accontentarsi.rnAltro positivissimo aspect was the fact I found it again in an online shop to 930 € with 24 months warranty Italian so I did not think 2 times, I sold the old sigma and another lens and I've paid this, fortunately, beautiful original sire.rnDomenica do a wedding then I'll post the results on the field! |
sent on September 29, 2011 Pros: AF fast and accurate, easy to handle and stabilizer with an excellent quality / price ratio. Cons: A little 'soft when using a fully open aperture greatly enhances already closing in just 2/3 stop. Opinion: I bought this lens recently and found it to be just great, with excellent sharpness and luminositò. I find it very easy to handle and with a professional look. Definitely a perspective of quality with a very competitive price for all advanced photographers or for those who can afford the more famous series Canon LPS am also very pleasant bokeh. |
sent on September 29, 2011 Pros: weight distribution, fast AF (with 2x multiplier); stabilizer, good construction Cons: soft wide open and extension Opinion: very good lens, having an aperture to f/2.8 provides a good use at night or in low light, and a good focus. The stabilizer introduced in this version makes it a direct competitor to his "colleagues" labeled, at a reasonable price (it is also found on the € 1200) for an excellent compromise of the equipment. I've got pictures taken at concerts and also in wild birds, including multiplier (at least to start impratichirmi) and with due care the result is more than acceptable. |
