Pros: All

Cons: Weight and overall dimensions

Opinion: A few words to describe this lens, excellent in everything, sharpness to the extreme on the whole frame, aberration absent, blurred gorgeous, excellent autofocus. The only thing against are the weight and the bulk, several times I tried to give it away to replace it with another more "human" perspective, but its yield is more unique than rare so it has always returned to the fold. I find, according to my tastes, that the focal length is perfect for portrait set, not too narrow as a 50mm not too wide as a 35mm with a detachment and three-dimensionality crazy. I use it on Nikon Z6, and the autofocus doesn't get a beat. You can find it now at really bargain prices for what it's worth. If you're not afraid of its size, it's a lens that will never let you down!!!

Pros: Exaggerated throughout

Cons: Abnormal weight and dimensions for a 40mm. Unthinkable to mount it on modern machines designed for Hobbits

Opinion: Exaggerated throughout, image quality, blurry, construction, weight and size. I never understood the sense of getting it out despite having an excellent 35mm and 50mm Art but that's another story. Difficult to sell it also because few bodies can afford to support it. Recently it is found at 50% less than the original price and I took advantage of it. The reflex attack makes it even more unbalanced but I am almost certain that it will no longer be re-proposed ML DG DN attack where there is the equally excellent 35mm f1.2 that in comparison, as weight and size, seems a "light" lens. I'm used to out-of-size bodies and optics but this certainly puts you in trouble. The results almost make you forget the whole thing. The Panasonic S1R looks like another machine. Another thing compared to the excellent 50mm Art, it plays with the 35mm f1.2 Art which, however, vignettes much more. It is a lens out of the ordinary. Do I recommend it? Maybe not, but I hold on to it.

Pros: Quality, construction, weight

Cons: It really seems like it doesn't have any

Opinion: Perfect optics. I have owned it for over a year, combined with Nikon D850 and Nikon D500. It excels in everything from portraits to landscapes, passing through everything in between. If he also did aviofauna I could do everything with a single perspective, but the last :) is not said. Really hard to give it up. In love, indeed in love. Thanks Sigma! Rating 10.

Pros: It's an ART

Cons: Weight,weight,weight

Opinion: Sent back to Amazon.Quality even too much. Tempting cost if taken on Amazon, but it is a boulder and many will find the weight limiting. I wanted to resell it to a store. They offered me 400 euros. It turns out almost unshakable and they were negotiating with Sigma to return some specimens. For the rest the construction and yield are excellent. I was even afraid that my A7III would not hold the weight.

Pros: Sharpness, overall quality, Af speed, edge rendering, great for landscapes

Cons: Weight too high for a 40mm

Opinion: To be a 40mm weighs too much, I find this thing absurd considering that it seems to hold a 135 in your hands. During an event or photo shoot it makes you want to use it. Compared to the 50mm as far as portraits are concerned, there is no difference. It changes with regard to the af, flare, landscapes and videos, obviously for this reason it is heavier precisely to give a higher quality to the images. Af is faster especially for events where there is a lot of movement. For landscapes and videos being very sharp at the edges from that effect of three-dimensionality taking better clouds or distant lateral subjects. then it manages the light very well. The blur is also better than the 50 1.4. Obviously very sharp as the whole art series. With much regret I had to sell it to give space to the 50mm because the weight of the 40 is not good especially when I wore so many optics behind and alone is not enough, Then too close to the 50mm for sharpness on the nearby distances is practically the same.
