sent on December 30, 2021 Pros: cheap, lightweight, fast af, very sharp, very robust Cons: bulky in the sense of voluminous Opinion: bought several years ago, I use it very rarely. is the classic plastic 50ino with amazing optical qualities and a low price. it is very light, all plastic except the attachment and the lenses. it is small but I would have preferred it more tapered like the 45mm 1.8 oly. as it is the shape seems to me cumbersome for the optics that is ... but so much so I keep it like this. Decent macro features, blurry good quality. if you like the focal length I can only recommend it as it costs little and does not miss a shot. the evaluation for me must be done between this 25mm 1.7 and the 20mm 1.7. the difference is made by the preference on the focal length and the fact that the 20mm is pancake therefore even smaller. the price is quite similar between the two. the choice is yours |
sent on December 30, 2021 Pros: Good yield and blurry, low price, smooth focus ring Cons: For the price nothing, perhaps it is a bit bulky compared to the other fixed M4/3 of similar opening Opinion: It was my first fixed, which I then sold to take the 20mm 1.7. It has a really pleasant yield, good AF and good sharpness, although certainly not at the level of 20mm. It shows some chromatic aberrations that are well corrected by Panasonic bodies and post-production programs. It suffers a bit of focus shift that penalizes the sharpness at intermediate apertures, which however remains always good: test aside, in practice you will never see it. Overall, absolutely, it does not excel in anything but in relation to the price it is a bargain. |
sent on April 03, 2021 Pros: weight, sharpness Cons: the af is a bit of a dancer in difficult conditions, but then tranqui that hooks it up to you! XD have patience Opinion: it's a very sharp lens even at 1.7.. to have a higher resolution there is only sigma art. Closed to f 2 does not explain the resolution and the af is very good. The focus ring is also fluid and prof, bayonet is made of metal and therefore good, the best light is obviously that example of fuji 23f2 which is slim and harms the dignity than that of nikons. The blurry is soft and pleasant. The pasty colors obviously beautiful combined with an olympus. go like a train!! |
sent on March 18, 2021 Pros: Bright, very light, not bulky, complete with lampshed, super cheap. Sharpness/autofocus/etc. all perfect x me. Cons: I do not have that from my point of view. Opinion: No cons? Well, yes, I didn't find any. It's not tropicalized I could say.. but it's not a con, it's a feature of the goal. I've been using it for a couple of years, but to be honest I've used it very little. I bought it x the videos with the g80, but it always remained unused.. until.. I didn't rediscover it for photos! Given that I photograph (photographed..) exclusively with fuji and used panasonic x videos, in recent months I am changing habits. All the fault of a noise reduction algorithm (friends call it "deep prime"). Long story short and do not digress too much, after hundreds of hours and test shots (sò de coccio, I know) I discovered hot water. That is, the panasonic mft beats my fuji apsc high iso. In practice post production manages to overcome the result of my apsc (which cannot use the same software because the program does not accept fuji raw files). I mean, I never expected it, but now I use panasonic for tall iso and fuji x the pocket (xa2). This 50 equivalent to 1.7 seems to me to be doing very well. For me it is sharp, quick and very light. It goes very well with the g80.. it feels like you haven't even attached it to the body. It's the cheapest panasonic lens available for micro-thirds, but the yield is really great. If you do not have or do not want to spend too much, this perspective remains a "must have". Paid new 155 coffees in the Amazon. |
sent on October 20, 2020 Pros: Bright, Cheap, Light... Perfect! Cons: Nobody Opinion: The first lens I bought in the kit and still my favorite lens. It has a great brightness manages to solve a lot of situations in which the 4/3 is in difficulty: indoors or in the evening makes performing a system that with less luminous lenses objectively fatigues. Around f/2.0 it also gives an excellent sharpness that they can not help but love. Given the price range and performance, I absolutely feel like recommending it! |
sent on October 12, 2020 Pros: Cheap, small and light, crisp with pleasant bokeh Cons: Nobody. Great value for money Opinion: We've had it for a couple of years and it's a little must have. Small because it has very small dimensions (61 x 52 mm) as well as weight (only 125 grams). The lens is made almost entirely of plastic, except for the attack, but it does not give us a feeling of poor robustness. It is equipped with the Objective AF Engine (Stepper Motor), it is not stabilized nor tropicalized. It comes with the lampshade, but without any case. We bought one in neoprene, not bulky but useful to repair the lens when we put it in the stock exchange. We use it primarily for portraits and appreciate its sharpness. The best gives it closed at f/2.0, but in any case even at full opening we get excellent results. Thanks to the circular diaphragm with 7 slats, it creates a very pleasant bokeh, allowing us to make the subject stand out well compared to the background. For the price paid (156th Fowa) you can not ask for better and we recommend it without doubt! |
sent on May 28, 2020 Pros: Brightness, price, sharpness, lightness, construction (plastic, but it's solid) Cons: Autofocus not excelled especially in poor light, focal Opinion: I bought this lens because I needed a bright companion for my slow kit. For the price it has is excellent: in fact it offers excellent brightness, beautiful colors and a very good sharpness. But it's not all gold that glitters. Although I was aware before the purchase that it is an equivalent 50mm on FF, I wanted to try this focus again perhaps to think again after the negative experience of a 35mm on APS-C Canon. I confirm what I thought initially: I don't like the 50mm. But these are personal tastes, it's not really a lens flaw. The biggest flaw I've found with this lens is the low light focus. Despite its excellent brightness of f/1.7, it occasionally gives up and fails to focus. In conclusion if you are a lover of 50mm or want a bright and inexpensive optic, this is for you. If you have a higher budget, take the Panaleica 25 f/1.4. |
sent on January 05, 2020 Pros: Definitely the price for its qualities, Nitido, af on G80 fast. Colors Cons: plastic construction but once mounted on the machine body you don't notice anymore Opinion: Bought just over a year ago, and sold to monetize and finance the purchase of a new lens, but after about two months, I felt the lack, after all I liked, light, crisp and on Lumix G80 was fast in the af, also used for movies, great blurry, pleasant both in photos and videos, beautiful colors, everything in my opinion and taste. I've regained it. I have two Lumix G80, one with on fixed the 25mm and this time I will not make the mistake of selling it again. |
sent on August 03, 2019 Pros: Bright, crisp, light, cheap price. Cons: Some slight flare , plastic but for the price it has okay. Opinion: I love it ! Taken at 170 euros new I can certainly not complain. Metal bayonet, a bit plastic barter, but that's okay. Mounted on Oly body I find it very light, content, with good quality, brightness and ntidezza. On some occasions it is a bit long as a focal point, but it remains a very good lens without having spent disproportionate amounts. Recommended for those who love fixed |
sent on December 28, 2018 Pros: Weight, size, price, construction, very good yield Cons: For the cost that has none. Opinion: The Nifty Fifty par excellence in terms of quality/price. In my opinion better than Olympus F 1.8 (costs double, 1.8 versus 1.7) and Panasonic 25 f1.4 (expensive 3 times just to have 1.4 and with pretty sharpness, bokeh and chromatic rendition) The manual focus ring is not as bad as it says , it is soft and fluid and with the assistance of the focus peaking of modern machines is difficult to err. The only flaw of the ring nut is the lack of the focus block min and Max. I use this lens on Panasonic G9 for portrait pictures but also landscape (especially in the evenings) and for videos. Very good AF/AFC focus. Minimum focus distance is not the best but it is not used for this function so I cannot feel it a fault. |
sent on October 17, 2018 Pros: Sharp already at F 1.7, bright and light. Cons: Electric Manual focus unnecessary for video, too many rounds of ring for focus. Autofocus OK, but it's not lightning. You can hear the internal engine clicks during the videos. Opinion: For 165 euro new, Fowa and with 4 years warranty is great. It is sharp already at F 1.7, and when active the face/eye priority on the OMD the eyes and eyelashes are in focus. Closed to f 2.0 is perfect, F4 excellent and sharp at the edges. The vignetting doesn't bother you very well for portraits, or photos in poor light condition. I do not recommend it to videomakers. |
sent on January 14, 2018 Pros: Inexpensive, good sharpness with more closed diaphragms, light, solid despite being plastic, built-in hood, diaphragm 1.7, metal attack, fast focusing with good light on body Oly Cons: Focusing that presents difficulties with low light (more compared to the 14-42 kit of my Oly), flare particularly intense when used without a hood, not very high sharpness with open diaphragms (but discrete cmq) Opinion: Taken back to € 180 with 4 years warranty, I can not be happy, with this price and for a 1.7 diaphragm lens step willingly above the defects, shame about the difficulties of focusing in low light, but it could also depend from the fact that I use it on the body Olympus.rnFor the rest a good goal, as said by others despite being all in plastic with a good solidity and is light, the attack is metal, the hood is incorporated. I advise |
sent on December 29, 2017 Pros: Lightweight, clear, versatile, economical Cons: plastic, but not fragile Opinion: It 's my first fixed lens, and before photographing with this I had serious doubts about the goodness of the camera (olympus E M10). After the first shots I realized that I had not yet had an appropriate goal. Finally, the clear photos I've been looking for have arrived! But I must also emphasize another aspect of which we do not talk much, the quality of colors: beautiful, saturated, but faithful leaving the default color settings (at least for my car). |
sent on April 22, 2017 Pros: weight, price, brightness Cons: It's plastic, apart from the attack Opinion: I especially like it because it costs very little and it does so much. He is fairly sharp already af / 1.7, has a good blur, is bright, small and light (also because it's all plastic that looks like a lego toy). More you can not really ask (a bit like Canon's 50mm f / 1.8)! Sometimes the AF does not engage and in continuous mode makes you nervous. But all in all I would say that the relationship between quality and price is unbeatable. |
sent on March 18, 2016 Pros: Surely the purchase price, lightness Cons: plastic construction, flare Opinion: Since yesterday I stressed out a nice little bit this beautiful lens, therefore, the first impressions are as follows: The objective as I reported in against is entirely plastic, fortunately the graft is made of metal, the same comes with the hood "Circular "good quality," diameter 46 "; the focus and rapid "in codizioni optimal light" and silent body of Olympus "pen epl-7". At the time I did not notice chromatic aberrations, as far as the bokeh "to my taste" is pleasant, I found a per good sharpness at f / 1.7, a slight increase of the same is visible between f / 2.8 and f / 4 with a slight drop in light in the borders; the colors are well saturated and uniforms. The only problem I found in the lens is not very well manages the reflexes. In the final, I would recommend buying .. |
