sent on April 29, 2019 Pros: Ergonomics, compactness, aesthetics, JPEG quality, automatic white balance, fast and precise single AF, ease of use, operating speed, quality/general price Cons: In my specimen the rear rubber for the thumb was low after a few weeks resolved with intervention home. Few customizable keys (2) Opinion: Thanks to this machine I rediscovered the pleasure of photographing, size and weight very content allow me to carry almost always with me, used with fixed 1.8 Zuiko returns sharp images and with natural colors thanks to the excellent white balance that does not Practically never misses. Despite the small size I was amazed by its ergonomics, good grip (and my hands are not small) and exceptional the metal ring nuts perfectly positioned by the excellent feeling and the right resistance: pleasant to use guarantee a quick own operating machine of higher class. Only the AEL/AFL button (which is customizable) is in a very comfortable position. I am more than satisfied by the general rendering of the sensor, setting Lightroom properly (the melody settings are a good starting point) and with the right precautions in the shooting phase (ETTR) I got raw well machinable even in light conditions not good and with high ISO (a My notice can be used quietly up to 6400) |
sent on October 25, 2018 Pros: Agile and handy camera, with the compact 14/42 lens is really portentous in terms of clutter, good features in manual, nice file rendition, fast autofocus. Good the viewfinder Cons: The screen is touch but not for everything, manual braketing absent, electronic shutter only in silent mode, battery life Opinion: It's a beautiful vintage-style camera. Especially coming from a Canon 650d. Sharp and fast, ergonomic despite its reduced size. So many automatic features that could make the happiness of newbies. Personally I disappoint the Olympus policy in switching from Mark 2 to mark 3 as far as manual functionality could keep what was present in the previous model. The braketing has been practically reduced and is automatic with no options, as well as the electronic shutter can not be used in PASM mode. You have to know that Olympus has decided to make it easier for beginners not only modifying menus but eliminating features that were present in the previous model (Sappiatelo!!). That said you find yourself in your hand a nice model of entry level machine but with a really good image quality. You can take it forgetting you have it. The viewfinder definitely quality compared to the same segment. |
sent on September 10, 2018 Pros: Stabilizer, construction, aesthetics, jpg Exceptional, is not an entry level Cons: Customizing the keys virtually nothing, no AFC/tracking Opinion: I've had this camera for 6 months and I can't do anything but talk about it. I have never owned a professional camera but in these months of use I really enjoyed it!. It's a pleasure to shoot in a manual with this little beast. The JPEG is just great and the stabilizer allows ridiculous times. At 12 mm I was able to shoot even at 1 ' ' freehand without a shake. The construction and aesthetics then are the top. The real sore point concerns the continuous autofocus or the tracking. I have practically never managed to use it or to make shots with a precise focus, but this is definitely depended on my lack of experience. Only two keys are editable on the machine, but the rest of the settings is still well organized (so it is not a true cons). Live composite and live time really useful and there are also the bracketing of exposure and focus so I would not categrate it as an entry level... As far as I'm concerned this camera has everything that a photo amateur and a non-professional needs. Absolutely recommended. |
sent on August 25, 2018 Pros: Light, very good dynamic range, the fomidable jpg Cons: I don't think he has Opinion: There is little to say, who the test does not come back to me, I had the Nikon D700, great machine, but when I tried this gem the next day I changed everything, also because the Nikon was beginning to be a bit too heavy when I was mounting the 80/200 f 2.8 The Everything weighed 2kilos and a half, with this instead I can stay all day without problems, my personal opinion: recommended Strasuper |
sent on May 27, 2018 Pros: Aesthetics, quality of jpg, superb optical stabilization, viewfinder Cons: Missing Jack, non-tipping monitor. Opinion: This is my first Olympus and I have to say that I was positively amazed. I have tried in the past the Panasonic GX8 and GH4 as well as a Canon m100. Now I have a Panasonic G80 test, but the feeling with this little Olympus is really unique. Despite being very compact and light it is really easy to hold in your hand and at the photographic level it is amazing. The stabilization in the videos is amazing, only a pity for the lack of the microphone jack and for the screen not articulated and even tipper. I made a video review of this Olympus EM10 mark III that you can find at this link if you want: https://youtu.be/dTS9rFkFIOk |
sent on May 21, 2018 Pros: Small, light, very good resolution, beautiful aesthetically, not entry level Cons: At the moment I do not find Opinion: Bought for its portability a few days ago with kit lenses, starts to give me great satisfaction, the high ISO yield is really good, next to a Nikon d7200, excellent machine but sometimes too cumbersome. The 14-42 pancake is invisible and you can always take it with you. I have not yet tried to make videos, but on the photographic side it looks great already with kit lenses, I can't imagine what can be pulled out with a 1.7 or other more performing lenses than those kits. I feel fully satisfied now I have to squeeze a little. |
sent on April 28, 2018 Pros: Amazing resolution of jpg, lightness, size, multifunctional too many, in my opinion a professional entry level Cons: Unimportant things, like lack of instruction booklet (which I fixed) I have to try harder to find something negative Opinion: Olympus system occhiavo a long time, something that take me back to the legendary years 70 with OM1 and 2 but the system 4/3 I created doubts especially for the rendering of files. Well this morning I went to Florence to take OLY om 10 MKIII with only 25 f 1.8 to try it out, and with the intention to confirm my doubts. Nothing more wrong, after taking a photo 30 I got home to try a bit of PP of my jpg. To my surprise the photos over to have a decent dynamic range enlarging with the surfer to PS to visually check the tightness, showed a perfect tolerance which I didn't think why wont my system Fuji. I must say that your PC screen fare at par and it put me in an uproar. I think September will be attracted to the new OLYMPUS after Photochina ... and then .... |
user141118 ![]() ![]() | sent on December 10, 2017 Pros: Weight and dimensions, construction, unbelievable quality-price ratio, comatic rendering and file detail, ISO, 5-axis stabilization, possibility of mounting other houses' objectives without the need for adapters, highly customizable both as a camera body and settings in shooting phase, burst of almost 9 frames per second and built-in flash. Cons: Not all software open the raw that generates, battery on 350-380 shots but just have a couple more 'and travel quiet from dawn to dusk, perhaps the recovery of shadows for those coming from fullframes, contrasting autofocus that does not It is the best for photographic hunting where readiness is everything, not tropicalized. Opinion: I started photographing from an early age with an Olympus, obviously a film and my father. In the last years I have been using SLR cameras, first Nikon (d80-d300-d7000), and then moving to Canon (50d-6d). Now the return to Olympus for about a month ... Switching from the fullframe sensor of 6d to the micro4 / 3 of the Oly gave me a little fear, but in the end I was convinced. Now I find myself a small body and I mount the Panasonic 12-35 2.8 is all mounted in the pocket of the jacket and I can walk indiscreet without too much eye. I still can not believe that I turned x years with the backpack and several kilos of equipment on my shoulders. After this premise, the machine in my opinion is an entrylevel only in the price. With 600euro you have a body of impeccable construction and very solid to the touch, the sensor has nothing to envy to my old 6d, the colors are always perfect without any dominant, the files it generates are very detailed and very workable in postproduction. A 5-speed stabilizer on the sensor is also included in the price (shots at 1/20 amanus free without any problem of blur), 121 points of focus (with the possibility 'to change point while you look in the eyepiece simply dragging the thumb on the screen), made the high ISO to envy the far more expensive fullframes (compared to my ex 6d we are up to 3000iso, over 6d and 'slightly better). What has left me thrilled are the settings of the menu during shooting (you have full control over the shadows, the midtones and highlights even before shooting) so making mistakes is now almost impossible. Burst of about 9 frames per second, built-in flash, HDR in the room, live composite and the photo is generated on the screen in real time and in front of our eyes, 4K video at 30fps Fullfd at 60fps and HD at 120fps. The tropicalization is missing, the battery churns out about 350-380 shots but just get a couple of spare and you 'all day safe. Perhaps the only flaw is the contrast autofous that is not as lightning as the ultrasound one, but the difference can only be seen on shots ofphotographic hunting or birdlife with particularly elusive subjects. What else to say ... happy with my purchase? Of course yes. Amazed? Yes a lot !! This micro4 / 3 really bewitched me. |
sent on October 24, 2017 Pros: QUALITY PRICE REPORT, Not a considerably "entry level", improved and intuitive menu, lightweight, handy, aesthetics in general, key function menu key, 5-axis stabilization, build quality, even yield up to 6400, color rendering, Autofocus from 121pt. Cons: Ineffective stabilization in free-time evening shots with shutter speeds of less than 1/15, a bit noisy in these latest conditions, battery a bit short but easily solvable with backup batteries. Opinion: I preferred m10 mkIII instead of Em-5 mkII after an initial indecision. I believe that apart from some features of the em5 (high-res, Tropicalization) that I do not care much about, the m10 mkIII despite being inserted in the "entry-level" band does not act at all as such, also because in the actual the sensor is the same, but slightly larger for the m10 (m10 13x17,4 vs em5 13x17,3), 5-axis stabilization is identical, as well as megapixels, even here slightly in favor of m10 16.1 vs 16. La rendering of colors is exceptional as well as sharpness. Excellent photo mode (AP) features. Unfortunately for now I was able to test the m10 only with the kit lenses 14-42 IIR f3.5-5.6 and 40-150 R f4-5.6, which are not bad with good lighting but practically unusable in free hand in light conditions poor and in the evening, but this one already knows well before buying, although I expected something more. THEStabilization with 5 axes per shot (not in all situations) and video is incredible, certainly not "entry level". Highly recommended. |
