sent on November 02, 2020 Pros: Sharpness, color rendering, distortion control, flare resistance, lightness, small footprint, well-exploitable focal excursion on FF, excellent zoom ring rotation, second-hand price, good construction. Cons: Bulky light, slightly less sharp than a fixed, but it is logical that this is the case, and then the differences are minimal. Opinion: Purchased used on Rebuy, I use it on the D610, and I am satisfied. I used a couple of fixes, but I don't regret that; it is the first time that a zoom satisfies me like a fixed, taking into account the comfort and versatility of the former against the optical superiority of the second. Avoiding replacing the lens is a great advantage. |
sent on July 29, 2020 Pros: Definitely the weight, good sharpness, compactness and price Cons: the fluidity of zoom motion Opinion: After many years spent searching for a definitive zoom.. Light... (light attention as light and compact with the necessary compromises) in fact I also have the tamron 24-70 G2, and used several 24-120Vr , I arrived at this compact 24-85 Vr by chance, purchased used, in conjunction with the purchase of the D780. Surprise!! Sharp ..., at 70 and 85 significantly higher than 24-120Vr, surprising the absence of the flare in the backlight. But at 24mm I was positively impressed in the face of other reviews, crisp almost to the edges, a reduced distortion compared to the older brother 24-120vr, and a higher resolution in the center. At 50 mm it hardly makes you regret having a fixed, but what a nice comparison... maybe I was lucky. And then light lightweight, a perfect superlight pairing with the 70-300 AF-P for fx format is worth as much. The plastic lampshed, although seey, personally does not bother me that much. Really to recommend |
user111807 ![]() ![]() | sent on March 01, 2019 Pros: Compact price and good sharpness Cons: Zoom ring A little hard at least in my specimen. Opinion: Got used intoned coming from kit d610 and paid really little. I mainly use fixed optics and I lacked a compact zoom to keep mounted on the body that I always have with me. I have to say it's not bad I thought worse I use it mostly at F 8 is sharp at all focal also the distortion and vignetting are well corrected. I prefer it to 24-120 F4 as performance is equivalent but the 24-85 is much lighter ex compact the 120 mm I do not need. The construction is a little plasticose but I think it's sturdy enough. |
sent on February 28, 2016 Pros: Cost, compactness, versatility. Distance focusing. I think that makes the most beautiful skies. Filters "Standard" from 72. Paid € 200 from optical kit, immediately resold. Cons: AF precise but not a lightning war, hood bulky and fragile-looking. Opinion: Having had two versions of the 24-120 and cousin 24-85 / 2.8 to 4, that I have all sold for use only zoom kit that is 18-35 as a normal optical, I regained that focus in AF version S 3.5-4.5 to have at least one lens for all occasions in which to change the optics (in the rain, hovering over a cliff, in dusty places) it was a risk. Compared to all the other had and resold, it seems to me that returns the sky a little 'more beautiful than it is, as the 14 Sammy doing incredible skies. Also it is less distorted than the 24-120 at 24 and keeps sharpness even after the 70 / 80mm on the contrary that the other loses quickly after the 70mm diaphragm already +1 than the full aperture. A diaphragm 8, as almost all the goals from the best. The focus is almost perfectly and keeps the focus and sharpness. The lens hood attaches not well, maybe it's a bit 'too leggerino but is vistosissimo, not as that of the 18-35 but still remarkable. backlightfull fewer discs and colored flashes of brighter 24-85. In low light it is dark as all zoom and then pull out of the pocket of the backpack 50cc or the 135DC. But you can not have light and compact together, so it is not a defect. 7+ rating |
sent on January 12, 2016 Pros: Weight, backlight, price, VR Cons: sharpness, color saturation. Opinion: I have this goal by a year and is very comfortable to carry it around because of the low weight, it provides a good backlight and suffers little flare or refractions different, the price is good. The sharpness here is a sore point since the middle image is sharp from f / 6.3, while being fairly clear from corner to corner must diaphragm to f / 8. She begins to fall in refractive already at f / 11. All in all not a bad goal, I took it as a kit with the D610 to begin with and proved to be a good all-purpose focal range covering the most affected by my shots. The Vr in some situations can take up to 1/10, but tends to heat a part of the image in high ISO and or long exposures. The distortion there and it shows especially 24 mm. Not a career goal is clear but until 15/16 mp offers a good quality. For the price offered is recommended. 8 vote for the price not high. |
sent on October 21, 2015 Pros: The right heavy, compact, fairly clear, af normal. Cons: Price of the new focal length. Opinion: Honest performance, does not disappoint in the use amateur. If used on modern SLR at high ISO, it is not affected much of the reduced opening. You get files optimally sharp and contrasted and thanks to vr you can afford to take time with 1/20. By contrast, the low focal length, forcing frequent changes in objective and this can be a nuisance. Sold to make style opens the 24-120 f4 only for the reasons mentioned above. In comparison with the latter it does not lose at all ... but that's another story. |
sent on August 25, 2015 Pros: Compact and lightweight, value for money Cons: vignetting, distortion at 24mm Opinion: This was my first optic body fx, I decided to start from this point especially for the price, but after taking more than a year, I can only say that his modest work he does very well, that is all money spent. Put in good light conditions is quite nitido.rnil VR works quite well, and the autofocus on d600 is being veloce.rnBisogna say that very cartoon, and that the minimum focal suffers from perspective distortion, all solvable in Camera Raw |
sent on December 03, 2014 Pros: homogeneity of yield, price Cons: sprained minimum focal maximum aperture Opinion: Objective underestimated? I think so, as I am about to explain. Placed in the category of seminfamante "zoomini kit", Nikon offers it in conjunction with some full-frame digital SLR, fate it shares with the most expensive 24 120 f4 aperture constant. Compared to the latter, I have no hesitation: subject to greater build quality and greater openness in maximum configuration canvas, 24 85 has the rare advantage - that can not boast even emblazoned 24 70 f2.8 - not to accuse cali yield at maximum focal length, where the 24 120 gives miserably, resulting usable little closer to 100mm. If we opt for the non-stabilized version, the value for money is even more interesting. Renouncing constitutionally plasticity of a lens from the focal generous opening, the landscape you will benefit of pleasant surprises around f8. Defects? The distortion at 24mm: Photozone has measured a value of 3.78%. Nevertheless, competitors are not much better in this respect. |
sent on November 27, 2014 Pros: Light, very defined in the central area, affordable cost Cons: is not an optical pro Opinion: Who buys this lens already know that does not belong to the pro line and the price is confirmed. Personally I use it with a D7100 and I had no particular problems with neither the speed nor autofocus with VR, only caveat is to use shutter speeds a little more rapid than those canons, for this density sensor and D7100 for the lack of the optical low pass filter. I have not had a chance to compare it with the 24-120, but the evidence read on the internet does not seem to have anything to envy the big brother. Without considering buying a kit, but buying as a single optical judge this view better from the standpoint of quality and price compared to 24-120. Beyond the appearance plasticky in practical optics is well made and without any particular problems of operation. |
sent on November 21, 2014 Pros: Fairly compact, lightweight. Cons: vignetting at 24mm, VR maximum Opinion: Using this objective it is not satisfied with any dissatisfied ... I mean that is a lens rather modest, the actual price is a bit high compared to the benefits that it offers, but it is a good all-rounder with a range of focal lengths is not very large but in any case suitable for amateur photographers who travel a lot and that they are not going to carry around so many pounds of stuff to each excursion. Among other things, it is also compact enough: the machine (type D610) and objective fit perfectly in a medium-size bag without carrying knapsacks and backpacks. The performances do not disappoint the amateur photographer but do not meet the professional, since the objective is quite clear but has a significant vignetting at 24mm and the VR is really weak. I'm rather impressed by the good blurred that you can not get, of course nothing to do with the objectives pro, but not bad considering the type of product. Another thing I did not like are the materials seem to have a toy in his hands, does not give me a sense of strength, it seems that if you doaccidentally topples to the ground will shatter into a thousand pieces, Nikon should pay more attention to the materials. Even the rings I seemed on top. In conclusion I can say that this objective after all has a good quality of 'image, but nothing to do with the pro Nikon lenses. |
sent on November 22, 2013 Pros: accurate, convenient, practical, tip resistant, compact, multifunctional Cons: slight vignetting, I have not found another. Opinion: I use it in a kit with the Nikon D610, I must say that I find really good, it is a very compact and functional lens, autofocus a bit 'noisy compared to my Canon 24-105 L series, but even that is enough troppo.rntrovo light and what I like is how the 24.3 uses the pixel format that FF uso.rnNon regret at all my Aps-c.rnPrezzo enough content, excellent kit lens, although I have purchased separately from the body machine thus saving the beauty of 170 eurini ... |
sent on April 04, 2013 Pros: Value for money, ease of use Cons: pronounced vignetting Opinion: is my first lens, I'm using it to master the secrets of the trade and neophyte I can not be dissatisfied, even if the vignetting is very pronounced, as already pointed out widely. A great handyman, if the quarry in all situations. On my last trip to Istanbul was a constant companion ... with time and new goals in my arsenal might not satisfy me more like now, but for now I can safely say that he is not doing bad at all! |
sent on January 06, 2013 Pros: Lightweight, range Cons: Pronounced vignetting, VR rather ineffective Opinion: Tried kit d600, left me quite perplesso.rnrnLa quality is what you would expect from a lens of this range, average good with some sacrifice allows you to take sharp working diaphragms intermedi.rnIl VR has been a sore point, in all honesty, a new lens so I expected better, among all Nikkor VR and I've tried, this is the one whose stabilization has convinced me meno.rnrnLa color rendition is good, the fuzzy dignitoso.rnE 'a lens from kits, practical to carry around all the time but, on the contrary of the latest releases nikon, not marked by a light output professionale.rnrnInsomma,'s extremely practical ... and that's it. |
sent on September 24, 2012 Pros: sharpness, price, resistance to flare, versatility Cons: Vignetting at 24mm wide open (if they can be considered a counter) Opinion: Since I switched to Nikon was my first lens. I chose waiting to buy something more professional, but the quality I was immediately amazed! Just bought it I went on a trip to Budapest and I've really test it the quality and potential of this lens. Very versatile in all conditions, it is a zoom generous and stabilizzaotore does its job very well and allows you to take even 1/20 .. 1/10. Very slow to turn and shoot. Even at full aperture the sharpness is high (the edges lose some ', but less than I thought, just close the aperture a bit' and you're done). I think it's the best lens quality / price nikon propose. The council, an amateur photography. Maybe for professionals may have some flaws, but I have not found. |
sent on August 13, 2012 Pros: Quality / price, lightness, sharpness, resistance to flare. Cons: Very pronounced vignetting at 24mm Opinion: Before writing this review, I tested this lens in the most varied situations of use, from landscape to reportage, portraits with a single lens wedding. Well, I've never been disappointed! I compared the image quality and sharpness with the 24-120mm f4 ... I can safely say that if it was a fixed f4 would be the perfect lens. It has nothing to envy to the 24-120 is even better in detail and in focus. I highly recommend it to those looking for an excellent standard zoom lens that combines a good excursion to image quality quite good. The only drawback: the rather obvious vignetting at 24mm, but with a slight post intervention in the problem can be easily removed. |
