Pros: Sharpness, focal range, 4-stop stabilization

Cons: I would have preferred was F4 constant

Opinion: When I took this lens, I came up with APS-C from Standard 18-55. Another planet, especially for those three mm from the wide side that I absolutely sought. This allowed me in time to use it as a handyman in many situations, especially the holidays. On the tele side instead allows shots that otherwise would have forced the change of optics, in many cases impossible. I do not regret the 2.8 because in that case the optics would become huge or with less focal excursion. In fact I tried a 17-55 2.8, but used to this it was tight on both sides. I finally switched to FF and I'm sorry to sell it. Compared to 24-105, the only difference is the constant diaphragm. Not known substantive qualitative differences. As someone pointed out this lens could be an L EFS but Canon has decided not to brand it like that (better for the price).

Pros: sharpness, Focal range, Stabilization

Cons: Barrel drift, APSC Only

Opinion: After years at my service now that I sold it I can say that it is a nice lens for apsc, my switch to FF decided our separation otherwise I would have kept a few more years. The only faults I have found is the drift of the barrel and perhaps the weight, for the fact that it is not very bright I do not consider it a defect for the price range where it is placed, I hope not to regret it in the Future.

Pros: Lightweight, focal range, stabilized, lightning-fast AF, colors and sharpness, lightweight

Cons: Zoom Drift

Opinion: I have this lens for several years and I know it well enough, it comes in many situations, great to take on the road. The Af is really fast the chromatic rendering very high and the stabilizer does very well his work in short a quality lens; Sure it's not f 2.8 but if it had been it would be much heavier. Of cons can suffer from the drift of the zoom that in certain circumstances can be annoying, chromatic aberrations contained that are easily eliminated in post production and does not suffer particularly the flare. For APSC recommended.

Pros: Focal ranges, autofocus, construction, stabilization

Cons: Weight. Sharpness good, not excellent

Opinion: I used it on 550d and 7d. My specimen had good sharpness, but nothing exceptional. On the other hand I liked the build quality, with particular reference to the smoothness of the zoom ring, but especially the speed of autofocus. Excellent stabilization, which I also used effectively for some videos. The focal range is what I need for travel, in particular on Canon I have evaluated very positively the 15mm compared to 18 of the standard superzoom. For a while I had the opportunity to use this lens and a Sigma 18-200 Contemporary at the same time. The Canon is significantly heavier, of another category for fast focusing, but my two samples were not very different for clarity. Surely they were both better, and much, compared to the Canon 18-200, which I also used in the past, especially in the area tele. It seemed to me that the Sigma was a bit warmer, but I never made a scientific comparison.

Pros: AF Fast, Sharpness, Weight, Minimum Dimensions

Cons: It's not a f / 2.8

Opinion: I had the Canon 15-85 for 3 years, before 40D and after 60D. Sold with great regret only for switching to FF. It's one of the best optics ever built by Canon for aps-c format, awesome sharpness at TA and all focuses, lightning strike and price tag used make it a goal that should not be missed in the aps-c kit. Only flaw is not f / 2.8 but this is not a problem

Pros: Focal excursion, silent, focus speed, sharpness at all openings, not very cumbersome

Cons: Fixed f4 would be ideal, non-tropicalized, drift zoom, annoying optical decentralisation

Opinion: Personally if it works well I find it a great all to do. . Versatile and quiet. Unfortunately there is no button to block the movement of the barrel and it is not weather sealed. It's a bit dark but the stabilizer works very well. Sometimes between the focal lengths 15 and 35 appears a nuisance optical decentralisation. The problem has not been solved even when the lenses are delayed. It doesn't always do it so for me it's still a mystery how to avoid this thing.

Pros: Robustness, sharpness even at extreme focal points and T.A., excellent color rendering, FAST and silent AF (it's ultrasonic!), characteristics comparable to the objectives of the L series, in short.

Cons: Weight (it is felt after an hour of use), lampshade to buy separately, brightness (maybe f. 2.8-4.0 or a fixed f. 4.0 would have been ideal, but then the price would have been higher) and the price of the new that is certainly not affordable for everyone.

Opinion: Great lens that defining "all-rounder" is a bit reductive. The A is a great focal excursion, precise and fast. F., silent and reliable stabilizer. The optical performance in terms of sharpness, contrast and chromatic rendering is excellent, absent the vignette. I often use it as a reportage lens even if it is not the top in terms of lightness, but quality demands this small sacrifice. The price of the new is a bit high, which is why I would recommend buying it used by people or trusted retailers.

Pros: Good construction, AF rendered chromatic sharpness

Cons: A little dark, there is no objective lock button. Missing the hood but you know Canon home is open

Opinion: I've been using it for three years and I could not help it. rn. 15 very distorted. Unfortunately all the draw is dark for this avoid being pulled to the maximum. The colors are beautiful, the stabilizer does his job perfectly. The AF does not mistake a shot. I accompany him with the 100 USM IS macro or 50 f 1.8. In my opinion he is a great companion, he is no longer taken away from the car. I advise

Pros: zoom range, sharpness, construction, AF, stabilizer

Cons: hood part, derives barrel, 3.5-5.6

Opinion: Sold when they are passed to the full-size, and bought back when I added a new aps as irreplaceable for the convenience of focal lengths, virtually no ultrasonic più.AF the detachment fast and very accurate, color returns ottimi.Lo stabilizer is very effective, 3 stops, not four as stated for me.L only flaw is that the hood you have to buy separately, and saw the price, I do not think sforassero the budget if it is 2.8 includevano.Non hard, but I was so necessary, distorts a bit to 15mm as all lower-wide angle zoom, just that this part 15 and not by the excellent 18.Costruzione classics, and significant weight make this lens a handyman who does everything and so much respect bene.Costa to others, but it is the only one that can range from wide angle to telephoto without sacrificing quality.

Pros: zoom range, sharp enough

Cons: price

Opinion: Good evening everyone, I have a Canon 700d with 18-55 kit (not stab.) For about two years, given the reviews I decided to finally take a better lens and I tried a 15-85 used, when I reviewed the photos (magnified on the monitor), compared with 18-55 and with my very old canon 75-300 (to use a phrase of the forum), has all wrong, I took a picture of the same subject at different focal lengths and diaphragms with my goals and then immediately repeated with the same parameters after mounting the 15-85. Most probably this specimen had trouble focusing, as well as being less sharp of my 18-55. So I contacted a famous Roman shop that sold a guaranteed used this lente.rnHo remade the same test. rnrisultato: same quality and sharpness of my 18-55, best rather than the 75-300 (would see). I'm not an expert, maybe I'm too picky or I guessed a super lens kit or maybe he's right writer you have to be lucky to buy a good esemplare.rnUn saluto.rnAntonio.

Pros: A barrel ok, really beautiful colors, the pictures on the outside sharpness and brightness. absence of vignetting,

Cons: Indoors with flash, AF does not focus

Opinion: I alternated to test the 15-85 to 18-55 on the same photos on equal terms, it has all wrong. I had read of the time already sull'AF defect ago but isolated cases, then it was 2014 and I thought then can the correction of the defect by Canon, my optimism and appreciation for the Canon product is rivedere.A the CANON cost does not It must set an abnormal product, but the most unbearable thing is the silence of the same.

Pros: It produces very sharp images, a very versatile focal range, right weight, provides images with beautiful colors.

Cons: Dim.

Opinion: I switched from a 18-135 IS kit with my EOS 60D to this and I joined another way, good focus, good color, a solid goal that is worth what it costs. A Mr. handyman who does not make me regret the range of difference. Since I bought it I keep it almost always installed on my machine, it is now some years that the use has never given me no only problem precisely that if it was a bit brighter than it would have been perfect. I recommend buying.

Pros: focal range, stabilizer, robust, compact and lightweight, very crisp.

Cons: Focus at times uncertain, lens hood is not provided.

Opinion: I want to clarify that one I returned to serious trouble focusing. Leaving aside the problem, the second is a marvel. Mr. An all-purpose! RnIl focal range is really a boon, especially when you can not star them change obiettivo.rnLo stabilizer does its job well. Let's say that from a constructive point of view not doing bad at all. It looks very solid, but this will be seen with tempo.rnQualcuno noticed the drift of the barrel in the intermediate focal, luckily my does not have this problem. You see that the Canon has corrected in the latest products, or because it's new ball. Vignetting, distortion and aberrations are well controlled. In good lighting conditions the focus is very valid. Precise and fast. With low light, sometimes a little effort 'but everything is normal.

Pros: Sharpness, Af-Fast, stabilizer, proper weight, great focal range for a APS-C

Cons: Little Light

Opinion: I own it for about a year when I approached my canon 70d, it's a great goal by handyman always wear while traveling. I personally use it often to small towns and festivals reportage is very versatile. It has a good yield in terms of photographic sharpness and detail to detail. Ultimately one of the best lenses for APS-C, the price is more than fair; coupled to one or more fixed light kit is best for those who do not feel ready to make the step to the full frame.

Pros: image detail - Focal Range (versatility) - Construction - Af fast and accurate

Cons: Fixed f would be unbeatable. Coupled with fixed light = TOP

Opinion: It is "obvious" that is dark over the competitor 17-55 2.8 (I have thought long and hard before deciding between the two) but is more versatile and, for me, the image quality that is fantastic being a handyman zoom .Costruzione massive and solid, it seems to go in well armato.Ho war decided for this because I matched to a 24 2.8 50 1.8 .stm and that as quality / price is very good for me since the beginning and having an entry level SLR. Pros: Well-built, high definition and excellent focal range

Cons: to be picky slight drift of the barrel, but only in the intermediate focal

Opinion: I love this zoom, able to give something extra to a aps-c compared optics kits. For the excellent zoom range I consider it the best all-rounder available for aps-c (also considering the 17-55 f / 2.8, best in the strict sense, but more limited as focal and possibly too bulky) .rnPassato in full frame I long hesitated before selling my 100d because of "guilt" her ...

Pros: versatile, effective stabilizer, little deformation angle, very crisp, very good definition to the focal length, solid

Cons: brightness "standard"

Opinion: after the 17-55 f / 2.8 IS USM is the best lens on APS-C, ideal for traveling light without repentance! I bought it for my father and when I had the 60D I took it home for the holidays, leaving the 17-55 (I carry around just another fixed light, lately the 28 f / 1.8) rnInizialmente not regard this lens because I thought it cost too not being af / fixed, being similar to the 17-85 I had before, etc. etc. but I changed my mind, is fantastic.

Pros: Sharpness, focal range, stabilizer very effective, RELIABLE ALWAYS !!

Cons: A little 'dark, not weather sealed.

Opinion: A lens for amazing clarity and reliability. The use of 7d for about a year and each time I am surprised of the quality of files that can churn out. A real blade. I think that is higher than the 24-105 f4 L mounted on 6d. Do not shout to the scandal ... my main machine body is just the 6d with 24-105 L, (so I speak from experience and not hearsay), and it is not up to the younger brother. The images of 15-85 are more defined, have the most accurate colors, and are much less "soft" of the L series is a pity that it can not be used on full frame ... otherwise it would be my only standard zoom the focal. Vignetting acceptable and resolved without damage. A solid construction and free of annoying games of the rings, make this lens a must among the goals for aps-c. I have read many reviews, and from what I understand someone perhaps was less fortunate and suffered a copy than perfect and perhaps the same thing happened to me with the 24-105 ...

Pros: Sharpness, compactness, af fast, is very valuable

Cons: Darkness in the long range, extended barrel little solid

Opinion: I own it now for about a year, I find it a really comfortable lens as a handyman and often when I travel more this port only a superluminoso (30 1.4 or 85 1.8). The stabilization is very effective, compensates for the closure focal length and focal court allows handheld shooting at times absurdly high. Sharpest, always astounds me how I can restore detail, particularly the pictures taken with this lens appear much appreciate the unsharp mask, after a past become ultra sharp. The autofocus is a splinter, does not hesitate almost never. The flaws for me are the variable aperture, the blurred a bit 'put the barrel extended dances a bit' and wanting the zoom ring that you can not block and sometimes moves. Overall, for the price I find it invaluable as a handyman APSC, especially when coupled with one or more were bright.

Pros: Sharpness and color at all focal lengths, stabilization effective range of focal

Cons: Rather dark, lack of lock button zoom

Opinion: Purchased used by a user of the forum recently, I must say it works really well. It 'a really good all-rounder, the focal range is very good, the stabilization is very powerful and can really take to 1/8 "to 85mm. Suffers little flare. Pros: Eclectic. Very good quality / price ratio.

Cons: Dimensions and weight given the low light.

Opinion: Great all-rounder, perfectly balanced on my 60D, it's probably a bit 'too massive to match a X00D. Despite a construction compeltamente plastic is another level to the objectives set. It distorts a bit 'after the 70mm to 15mm and has a soft fur, but otherwise it can be very rewarding. Autofocus fast, quiet and accurate. Every time I remount the reflex seems to me to go home. Definitely the lens more comfortable than my kit. Maybe not the most "artistic" but that's what pissed when I want to be sure to take home the shot.

Pros: Wide range of focal AF-fast and precise, sharp.

Cons: It 'a little dark, if it was a 2.8 ... For what it costs the hood MUST be standard.

Opinion: It 'a great quality to do everything, and fortunately I was able to prove it for a week and you can decide to change my Sigma 17-70mm f / 2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Canon with this, I have to say that I've got thought well, because even the sigma is a great lens. The canon 15-85 actually is not very bright, but the focus is very fast, has a good sharpness, 15mm distorts little, the stabilizer is the AF are silent, has the AF Full Time, but I never use it because the AF not miss a shot is very accurate. A f 5.6 starts to work very well. Sure, maybe the price is a bit exaggerated, if I had this opportunity I would not have spent so much on this lens, because it is not tropical conditions, it does not open at 2.8 and is an EF-S and if you spent a full frame I would be forced to sell it. For me it is a great lens, but my THE COUNCIL AND: look for a bargain second hand found, buy new 650 euro about not worth it. One points outtion with the lens hood attached (even if the original canon) focal 15-18 depending dell'illuminazzione photos may show a slight vignetting in the high parts, nothing that can not be Correct in post.

Cons: brightness, it is not weather sealed, missing bag.

Opinion: Optics do everything better than the 17-85 I had. Okay for various types of photos, bokeh not up to the drives. I use it for more than a year and I am satisfied. Fast autofocus, good picture quality, very good sharpness of the lens is at the center than at the edges. Opinion: dovendolo quickly define a lens is very convinient to take pictures without much hesitation and with the results decidedly rewarding, especially if you do not have the ability (or desire) to change often deliberately obiettivo.rnpreso in a kit with the 7D (despite an obvious premium compared to other lenses), for two years has been my main lens with only 50 fixed. just buying a tele I discovered how objectively as comfortable focal range, allowing you to work without other objectives without special waivers. rni 15mm scale basis put him a step ahead of all the objectives do everything for aps-c and above with a minimum post-production shots to 15 are very valid. RNLA optical performance is good, not by particular problems and is the perfect compromise between focal length and quality. rnunica sore point is the construction that is unfortunately typical of the "colleagues" efs, great use of plastic (even if it gets worse) and overall poor durability when subjected to heavy duty applications (in terms ofmechanical, not optical). specifically my copy zooms when tilted and the front lens that rotates partially.

Pros: I entered the pro-and against detailed in my place (June 24, 2014) on the Juzaforum: rnhttp :/ / www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=en&t=612828

Cons: gray thread tape, lack hood, side tele focal

Opinion: optical purchased in a kit with the 7D and I use 70-80% of the photos I do. It has a stabilizer that rivals the many L-series: shake-free shooting even at 1/3s free hand, focus lightning and very quiet. The wide side is fantastic for APS-C bodies. That cartoon paintings but slightly corrects fine in PP. The focal range is so broad that it can be considered THE handyman who never moved away from the camera body, except for special usage. I bought it to replace the 18-55mm kit supplied with my old 350D ... the comparison is not feasible, we are on two completely different bands! Cons: Dearth: for the price should have been standard lens hood and pouch ... rnVignettatura ...

Opinion: As others have pointed out, is definitely the best kit lens supplied with APSC.la strength is remarkable and excellent sharpness, especially compared to the 17/85 they were before, as standard, than I do and I can say I own 2 copies which are not comparable ... the only flaw is a showy and a little vignetting 'geometric distortion too, (but that only 10 years ago would have been considered excellent in that focal "24mm"). vignetting is possible defects to find on the perspective of this category, the easiest (today) to be corrected, and this makes it acceptable, the construction is sturdy and while not weather sealed for now it seems to me, (I own it since 2011) behaves well with the input dust ... Water has taken (certainly not rain) often, but it does not seem to be affected (clearly I've always dried as soon as possible ...) in the end, while feeling the lack of a lens of this type, in "L" version , and I do not see why not being projettate for the APSC?!?! 15/85 is a great goal, which gave me great satisfaction, even in the pro field.

Pros: autofocus splinter, weight, incombro, handling, stabilized and held to very good flare, contrast, sharpness

Cons: lunminosità, equipment, tropicalization

Opinion: I am using a few months ago and honestly, given that everything is perfect, there are very few defects, eg a fixed brightness. f4 would surely everyone is happy. It 'really a good traveling companion recommend it .... rnpurtroppo is not sealed and the cost canon could do something more. Another quibble aside from a bit of vignetting at the edges in max hiking, among other things easy to correct in post, is subject to dust must be careful when it's windy. 9 votes

Pros: - Quality construction of high-livello.rn Sharpest (at least my copy) rn-lens compact and lightweight. rn-ring USM AF motor with full time MAF. rn-Use an aspherical lens typical L-series

Cons: - The Chiera for MAF manual is small and located scomoda.rn-hood non-compreso.rn not tropicalizzatorn dim f-3.5-5.6rn

Opinion: I took this lens kit with 7D.rnSecondo me doing a compromise between cost, quality and equipment is the mile-rounder for canon APSC. RnrnLa clarity is remarkable, is not comparable to other kit lenses, we say that is placed in a mid-range between the L and standard lenses. RNLA zoom ring is smooth and precise. Remains stable when framing down, and is not subject to 'extension due to force gravità.rnrnL' fly in the ointment is the diaphragm to 3.5 .... a 2.8 with quality and features should be snapped between the APSC!

Pros: Good construction, excellent range of focal length (wide angle for me utilizzatissimo), stabilizer, USM peciso and silenzoso, light output.

Cons: Lack hood

Opinion: It 'was my first view, when I started to get interested in our hobby over a year ago. Despite having purchased other more specialized optics can not deprive me of this, is a great all-rounder for APS-C, has a good performance, a good wide angle! Really efficient motor USM! RnrnBene or bad I do not think I will never dala 15-85 except switching to FF!

Pros: Sharpness, contrast, stabilizer, color. The best all-rounder for APS-C

Cons: Equipment: is offered without bag and without a hood. For a lens that costs 650 Euro ... rnVignettatura (corrected in post with a click). RnDistorsione accentuated 15mm

Opinion: The lens "definitive" to report on APS-C. I published a book containing photos of Paris that I have won several competitions: nitidizza, contrast, edges made exceptional! Never disappoints, the stabilizer allows you to shoot handheld up to one fifth of a second with a minimum of experience (and a steady hand). RnUn little pesantuccio, this is, but mounted on a 7d is well balanced. Very solid construction, although not tropicalized. Had been fixed f4 would be a must ... rnPer me, the best standard zoom on APS-C on the market today.

Pros: because of the focal length is very handy to use when you want to go around with only one approach, good sharpness, excellent stability, good construction.

Cons: gives a bit 'at longer focal lengths, the lens hood is missing, given the price, it should have been included.

Opinion: I took at least a two thousand photos with this perspective that I use with the D7 when inevitably are forced to use only one body and one lens (or at most two, in which case the next 70/200 f: 4 ), then, is for me a very good all-rounder but obviously can not hold a candle to my other lenses (which are fixed). In my opinion, the best performance is around the diaphragm f: 5.6 (on short focal). At longer focal lengths seems excessively soft and anyway lower than the 70/200 referred to above. In any case it is a perspective that takes advantage of using very raw and then checking with the converter distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberration.

Pros: Sharpness, color, contrast (image quality always excellent), AF and stabilizer.

Cons: Brightness, a little vignette in 85mm, lens hood sold separately, always too much PDC.

Opinion: Perspective of a high standard, very determined, very real and contrasting colors. The ultrasonic AF is fast, accurate and silent. The IS, also silent, is by far the best I've ever tried, can always earn 3 stops, often four, sometimes even 4 1/2 (depending on the hand) I took many photos without a shake-85mm 1 / 6s (maybe leaning his back against a wall ... ;-)) This beautiful IS allows shooting at all focal lengths (also 85mm), indoors with minimal artificial light without a flash (static subjects clearly and ISO 1600). Very well built with plastic quality, the zoom ring is very progressive and has no annoying games it points more soft or hard, that the MF is precise and well geared down (type Full Time). Even if it is not weather sealed it happened to me at times to photograph under a bit of rain but never had any problems whatsoever. Adequate size to focal weight evenly distributed. . The range of focal lengths & egrave; amazing, especially in "low" 15mm back often useful and, for the portraits in the foreground and close up the 85mm is very convenient (although here f5, 6 penalizes the very blurred background). A great traveling companion that does not require compromise on image quality. Only real drawback is the great difficulty in obtaining beautiful backgrounds blurred if not a lot closer to the subject or taking distant backgrounds which, unfortunately, is often not feasible thing ... :-( On the other hand the optics need to get down to some compromise if it was an f2.8, with this range of focal lengths, it would be huge, heavy almeeeeno 1 kg and certainly cost twice as much (at least looking like his brother indicator 17 -55 f2.8) ;-) In my opinion equivalent to using the Canon 24-105 on FF with a range of focal lengths greater PDC but with a significantly worse.

Pros: Focal length, quality 'optical stabilization

Cons: Brightness ', price a bit' high, equipment (hood and pouch absent)

Opinion: Giving voting 8 to this glass I lowered a bit ', the mean of Juza. Not that you are not satisfied, indeed, this Canon as already 'said more' times is the "solution" is ideal to all the problems of portability 'and versatility' of users APS-C. Use 360 ??degrees often feel the lack of brightness 'especially "going" with the focal length, the stabilizer anyway and' powerful and allows us to shoot at times absurd (with a minimum of a steady hand shots to take home 1 / 10). Sharpness and contrast at a high level, building very good not to be a L series, the first time I took it out of the box I was amazed of its compact size, despite the large diameter of the lens and filters' "short" and not particularly heavy. The 15 mm below have been one of the reasons that convinced me to choose it as my normal zoom, since I do not have a wide angle. Ps. the difference between 15 and 18 mm and more 'of what is often thought, seeing is believing. I have read that several elements have drift problems of zooming, my fortunately it has not yet, and 'something that could not stand.

Pros: Objective handyman, good quality even at full aperture, excellent stabilizer, good build quality, fast autofocus and responsive

Cons: It is not sealed, it is not very bright.

Opinion: I use this lens now for a good year and I can say that it is fully satisfied. Its versatility is "embarrassing" is not the lever of the car! Fast autofocus, image quality (sharpness, contrast, color rendition, distortion) good. In particular, I have noticed, doing some comparisons with the 17-55 is 2.8 and with the 24-105 4 L is, that the sharpness of the lens is very good both at the center than at the edges, on the contrary of the two objectives of comparison which have excellent sharpness to the image center (greater than that of the 15-85) but a drop of the same closer to the edges. The problem is most pronounced in the 17-55, and can be corrected only by stopping down at least one stop. I also find that the yield is rather constant even with varying different focal lengths. Of course, going beyond 70mm is a certain drop in sharpness. The lens has, in my opinion, a color rendering very pleasant and balanced, basically - like all Canon lenses for the most part - the tone is a bit 'tendency to "cold", but overall pleasant. Also good color saturation, never excessive. Chromatic aberrations are noticed, especially at the edges of the image and in bright light, but I must say that they are not exaggerated, though slightly higher than, for example, than they are on the 24-105 L. I often critical comments on its price, certainly not "cheap", but I think that actually reflect the quality of the lens, much more than in many other cases. A lens definitely recommend to all owners of APS C.

Pros: Lightweight, Compact, resistance to flare, sharpness, contrast and color. Effective stabilizer, Focus USM, general construction. Corresponds to a 24-136 on FF (such as 24/105 on FF with a plus on long)

Cons: Vignetting at 15mm and even a little 'to 85mm, aperture 3.5 to 5.6 (would have been desirable f4 constant), not' sealed, lens hood is not supplied, expensive and hard to find ', expensive.

Opinion: And 'the ideal lens for those who have a aps-c and have no need' to do portraits with bokeh exaggerated, where they 'and' the best 17/55 f2, 8 or even better a nice pair of drives. If you want to go traveling light and carefree concentrating on the photos, this lens and 'ideal. Equipped with a Sigma 8/16, a good 50mm light (maybe Zeiss) and a telephoto (70/300, 100/400 or 70/200 that is) say that you can go to the ends of the world and expect any kind of situation without being unprepared. Highly recommended although a bit 'expensive, but I consider the level, if not better, its appears FF 24/105 (except for the construction, where the latter and' a bit 'better also because of tropicalization)

Pros: excellent range, excellent image quality in all aspects, very effective stabilizer, construction and materials, excellent autofocus

Cons: brightness and price, amenities

Opinion: this is one of the best all-rounder zoom on the market, and as a good all-rounder zoom starts with a focal length of 24mm, while the 85mm is sufficient to limit, where we see a slight decrease in image quality. the stabilizer is effective and silent ultrasonic autofocus works perfectly, resulting in accurate and very quiet. is built with quality materials, justified a price not exactly cheap. unfortunately is not very bright, but the large excursions are payable in brightness. is perhaps the perfect lens for travel where you want to do both expansive landscapes and city views, and zoom in on a particular suddenly. missing hood and housing.

Pros: High resolution, color, contrast, extreme versatility

Cons: Vignetting and distortion to 15 mm, for pesantuccio handyman from ASPC

Opinion: From the 5d2 I "ran" for a few days in a 7d with 15 85. What can I say .... this view is beyond all my expectations, both in high resolution for color rendition and contrast of high level (maybe just a tad too abrupt tonal passages). There is some vignetting and distortion, but nothing to do with that which produces a 24 105 on a 5d2. Even holding the flare is far better than that of the L-series The construction is good (but in this case the 24 105 is a notch abundant above). The couple 7d + 15 85 is too little less heavy torque 5d2 + 24 105, size APSC I always expect great benefits for my back .......... In my opinion, promoted with a 9.

Pros: Fast AF, build quality, stabilizer, all-in-one.

Cons: Cost, diameter filters, brightness is not record-breaking, I'll sell it when I pass in full size.

Opinion: I bought this lens kit with the Canon 550D and use "family vacation" is an all-in-one. A 15mm, which are then 24, is great for indoor photos and landscapes while at 85mm, which are then 136, is a medium / canvas that allows you to take pictures appreciable children running and amateur sporting events. The stabilizer allows you to shoot safely at night inside a house without using the flash (but is always handy) and the AF is just perfect. The 15-85 focheggia without hesitation in a few seconds and compared to many lenses of the same category (even non-Canon) looks like a series L. The notes have a negative depth of field always a little too wide for portraits (and in fact soon buy a Canon 85mm 1.8 fixed) and the diameter of the filters (72mm!!) Forces us to spend a lot of pennies for a polarizer or ND or close-up of quality (also the famous "welder's glass" is too small). If this "muzzle" Canon was able to make a fixed f4 lens would be a 10 on APS-C.

Pros: 24-136 equivalent size and weight reasonable, af fast and quiet, good image quality, still has no real competitors, building effective

Cons: Brightness, price, vignetting

Opinion: It 's my handyman. Not excellent brightness makes up for with the excellent stabilizer, but obviously can not offer exceptional blurred. Sticker to 15 and large openings but it is a problem easily solved in PP. It allows you to make any general photographic output with a single goal, almost certain that you have enough, especially from the side angle. In fact, his 24 equivalents are a beautiful thing especially for those who love the landscape, will not be disturbed by the tendency to vignettare using small apertures. The building is obviously not "L" but is quite good overall. Unfortunately, the price is a little higher end, looking at how you can even come close to 600. A great lnte I can not help but recommend. To stay in canon its natural competitor is the 17-55, but it costs almost twice as much, if you do not require large apertures the 15-85 has a good reason to be bought.

Pros: Excellent stabilizer with recovery of up to 4 stops, good lighting, quiet and fast autofocus, excellent color rendering, high flexibility.

Cons: Born for the APS-C sensor, it is not usable by machines Full Frame, expensive for its category, not weather sealed.

Opinion: I bought this lens as a kit with the Canon Eos 7D, so it is a lens of most recent design and construction, I would say even in innovative coating material. Equivalent in 35mm format to a 24-136 zoom, I think this is the ideal for those who love to photograph without posing the problem of having to follow other optics, optical absolutely "All in One". This lens can capture very large portions of the scene, adding a greater sense of space and perspective to your photos. Rating 9
