Pros: Well built and robust, excellent if you find the right specimen

Cons: In my poor edge performance

Opinion: Apparently there are 3 versions of the ml model, an 8 lenses 7 groups with a median doublet in the optical group, a 7/7 version and a 5/5 recognizable by the 49mm filter holder ring The 8-lens version weighs 250grams, the one in my possession despite mounting filters diameter 52 weighs 228g, just the weight of one lens less, So when I want a 28 properly I use the Nikkor AIS 8 lenses or the Rikenon 28mm

Pros: Sharpness, compactness, aperture, focus, low distortion

Cons: Slight chromatic aberration

Opinion: I use this lens on Canon 6D. Chosen for the small size and the solid construction typical of ML (reminiscent of Zeiss Contax), I found myself in my hands a sharp, well-corrected and reliable optics, with very workable raws. Excellent with aperture between f4 and f8, but also gives beautiful shots at full aperture (especially with human subjects). At the edges it suffers from chromatic aberration and a slight softness; and sometimes I noticed a slight indecision in the exposure of the shadowed areas (on 6D). While the focus ring is a pleasure for the hands and for the eye, with well-calibrated and precise stroke (with a little practice you can focus well even from a reflex viewfinder). Too bad for the rising prices in the last period, but if you can find a good opportunity is a more than recommended goal.

Pros: Great sharpness, null weight, great colors

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: To be a vintage and very dated objective, you can not complain. It exceeds all expectations, at a very low price. It's a totally manual but totally versatile, with a fixed focus but an incredible 2.8 aperture. I was amazed at all in all aspects, especially on Aps-c. Spectacular raw machining, the colors are really a wonder in my opinion. For the price he has and for what he can get, it's worth the price

Pros: excellent sharpness, excellent correction of distortion, cotruttiva quality, PRICE

Cons: with M / F at infinity, in tail light locks the mirror of the Canon 5D camera

Opinion: I purchased this light, for a few euros, usual market. Luckily I had an adapter ring for Canon EF and I put on my 5D. I just downloaded the first images on the PC, I noticed the excellent features of this light especially to the intermediate diaphragms: Excellent sharpness, picture depth, almost total absence of vignetting and excellent correction of distortion. The lens has a good size (I like it) but sufficiently lightweight, ergonomic and with a ring of M / F fluid and with the right size; reminds me a lot, even for this, the optical Zeiss for C / Y. The major problem I found with the Canon 5D (but I guess with later versions) was the mirror of the camera block when the M / F is set to infinity is intercepted, while shooting, by the tail light. After a quick reasoning, I have solved this problem by moving the M / F on a slightly smaller distance (say 10 m) and, then, removing thelight assembly from the mirror just enough. In this way, using a slightly aperture, I was able to easily get the right depth of field as well, taking the M / F at infinity. The rest of the occasions on which I need a blurry background, are those in which the subject is with a M / F set to short distances. However, I repeat that this is really good perspective that has encouraged me, even more, to orient to the fixed lenses that I have always preferred to zoom right from 70. The comparison with my Canon EF zoom 28-135 (which I judge, however, a good all-rounder), used the same focal length, it is absolutely impossible, and, of course, in favor of the Yashica.

Pros: Weight, size, optical quality, color, three-dimensional.

Cons: Use full manual

ALWAYS preferred to the various 35 f2 that I had on hand ... rnrnQua below you will find a picture of me with THE 1ds on the old bridge, and you'll understand what I mean by .. MAGNIFICENT!

Pros: Lightweight but solid construction, light, beautiful color rendering, bokeh interesting.

Cons: Not razor sharp on modern machines. Lack of AF and automation of any kind.

Opinion: Lens like old style and approach as management shooting. I used it again on Yashica 35mm film and gave me the photos I'm most fond of. Mounted on D7100 it loses some 'amplitude, becoming a 42 mm which is not a miracle, although it can be used without problems as a regular. If you manage to set the parameters of non-CPU lens on the machine you can also work in aperture priority. Not razor sharp, especially at RT. The manual focus presents some minimal difficulty especially in large diaphragms. It remains quite soft in general, in my opinion, but PP can recover. Unfortunately since I 35 f / 1.8 DX Nikon, unemployed and this is almost the end is his real yardstick. Objective that is used on the 50 euro and I think that is also something more. I'd be curious to try it on FF.

Pros: Price, construction, focus, color, image quality.

Cons: Lack autofocus, exposure changes with aperture, a bit 'soft to 2.8

Opinion: Excellent optics in all the colors, contained aberrations, blur pleasant, excellent construction (all metal), good sharpness intermediate diaphragms. Used for what it costs (40 € in excellent condition) is worth the effort if you want to take a 28mm quality and you do not need autofocus. With the 40D I have encountered problems in relation to exposure: a 2.8 in Av the camera exposes correctly, but stopping down the lens tends to overexpose more and more, reaching almost two stops of overexposure to f11-16 (the error changes to changing light conditions). At 02.08 am missing a little 'detail, but the quality is still acceptable (provided you focus in the right place!). I would strongly recommend to buy an adapter with chip for focus confirmation.

Pros: Optical low-cost, compact and lightweight construction is as good as they once did, distortion and contained ca.

Cons: Tendency to yellow, probably dates from the anti-reflective coating, shadows a little closed and high contrast.

Opinion: Perhaps the best of the series Yashica ML, used many years with slides on fx3 & 106.Adesso the use of adapter (uncomfortable because it becomes very long) on ??NEX5, with very satisfactory results in terms of sharpness Aperture best (on aps-c ). 2.8 RNA do not expect great wonders, even if it is ulitizzabile.rnOttica manual focus of course, but for me it is not a problem.
