Pros: Perceived quality, size, overall performance.

Cons: I agree with other reviewers: at that price, nothing.

Opinion: For age reasons, I come from that "prehistoric" era in which the maximum of the reflex kit was represented by the mythical fixed triad 28-50-135 (and even before 35-50-75 with rangefinder). So I remember very well the period in which the first daring amateur photographers began to venture deeper into the wide-angle world, daring to buy a 24 or even a 21 accepting all its defects, such as heavy vignetting and glaring distortions. Times have changed and now it seems that anyone can produce a 14 (and even less...) effortlessly and with excellent results. Yet the first word that came to my mind when I opened the box was "Crazy"... Yes, because at first contact this Viltrox is really crazy: very small, very light and with good finishes. The construction is not poor, on the contrary: the bayonet is metallic and precise, the focus ring slides loosely and the overall appearance of the barrel is of a good solidity... all at a truly incredible price. This should not be too surprising: as happened to other brands that arrived years ago from the Far East, the perceived quality is a fundamental element (together with the goodness of the images, of course) to allow a new brand to make itself known and conquer a slice of the market (... and we all know how difficult and extremely competitive photography is). Oh well, it's not a 2.8 but it's also true that it weighs only 170 grams and can fit easily in any bag or pocket. And then, reading the various MTF tests, you discover that the best apertures are 4, 5, 6 and 8 which on such a short throw means having everything in focus, from one meter to infinity. The minimum focusing distance is also interesting: 13cm, with the subject two fingers from the front lens. In the Sony world I think that the perfect match is with the A6700 or the A7C-II: in this way the handling and elegance of the camera bodies is kept intact without distorting it with lenses that are certainly of excellent quality but often corpulent and unbalanced forward. In the field I can say that the first contact was positive: the images are sharp and well defined, the vignetting is non-invasive and the aberrations are well contained. One thing is certain: when you use optically "extreme" lenses (the same goes for super-telephoto lenses) you have to learn how to use them to make the most of their many advantages and minimize their inevitable defects.

Pros: Sharpness, featherweight, incredible quality/price ratio, absence of significant distortions and / or aberrations.

Cons: At this price I would say nothing.

Opinion: I bought this new lens for 160 euros, mostly out of curiosity: I hardly feel the need to use such short focal lengths, but since Viltrox launched this little gem and I started reading the first reviews, a monkey landed on my shoulder and never left. What can I say: I was blown away by the overall quality! The construction is very solid, it is all plastic (except for the bayonet, which is metal) but holding it in your hand you don't have the impression of handling a cheap lens; In addition, the choice of this material and the f/4 maximum aperture has made it possible to contain a lot of weight and size, it is really compact and very light. Coupled with the Z5 it works very well: sharp enough not to make you regret the purchase, I have used it so far mainly at night urban and it has fully satisfied me. Very few aberrations and easily corrected in post, ditto with regard to distortion and vignetting; it is not stabilized but the Z5 is, so also by virtue of the short focal length I easily shot at 1/4 of a second (but I did a test also at 1/2 of a second) handheld without problems, fantastic for moving around the city in the evening without a tripod! In conclusion, it is not a lens without defects and is not very bright, so perhaps it is not suitable for those who make a professional use of this focal length; However, for those who are used to "thinking" from 24 mm upwards and want to have an ultra-wide to experiment with new creative perspectives, I would say that for the price it costs it is absolutely a must have. Well done Viltrox!

Pros: Weight, price, quality

Cons: Autofocus not always great

Opinion: I got this lens for 110 euros on aliexpress I use it on nikon z6II and z8, it had to become a lens to keep in your bag to take some photos of interiors and some outdoor landscapes. Instead it was a nice discovery, I practically immediately did two paid jobs to do interiors, and shooting after f5.6 it is excellent sharp from edge to edge, on a tripod it behaved very well. I used it outdoors and honestly also to go landscaping is really interesting, especially given the weight and the star that forms with the lights. As for the speech that vignette I thought it was a problem, but they already have the profile on photoshop and nothing disappears immediately, as for the autofocus excellent with good light, sometimes instead with little light fatigue.

Pros: Weight, price, quality

Cons: nothing to say

Opinion: I took it x have a wide angle to keep in the backpack that involves little weight x walks in the mountains, excellent build quality according to the almost negligible cost and I must say that I was surprised by the excellent yield, vignette a little but with photoshop it is eliminated in an instant, backlit framing the sun produces an excellent star already at f8

Pros: Amazing overall quality

Cons: Knowing what you are buying, I would say nothing

Opinion: Taken out of curiosity to have a super wide angle that was as portable and light as possible. A miracle medium, light, well built, possibility of filtering it without bulky and expensive plate superstructures, very good performance, minimal sharpness decay at the edges, noteworthy the ability of autofocus, fast and effective. Minimal presence of vignetting, lens that holds transverse lights well generating few flares recoverable in pp easily, taken on Amazon for 220 euros. Miraculous compromise between quality/price/lightness. For me promoted

Pros: Very advantageous price for a Full-Frame lens, negligible weight very comfortable to carry.

Cons: At this price I can't find any

Opinion: Taken from the Viltrox website at a discounted price (less than €190). I use it with a Nikon Z6 III, it has proven to be very comfortable and the results are more than positive. It feels like walking around with just the camera body. In previous cameras I had the Samyang lens with the same aperture which weighed a lot and is very bulky! With the same results, this lens is much better, which is a little gem!

Pros: Very affordable price. Compact. All in all light.

Cons: Not very bright for a fixed one.

Opinion: You can't have everything. If you want a compact, lightweight and cheap lens, you have to accept that it is 'only' f4 maximum aperture. I have it for the Nikon Zf, so Nikon Z mount. It is more than fine as a wide-angle all-rounder. Much less expensive and much lighter than the Nikkor 24-30 f4 zoom. An f4 zoom is normally accepted without problems, a fixed f4 makes you turn up your nose a bit, however given price, weight and size, it is certainly a valid lens (considering and evaluating the inevitable limits).

Pros: All

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I'm aiming for lightness, put with the Sony A 7 lll you don't realize you have it and photographing is fun. I'm happy, of course I speak for my way of photographing, then you know at best there is no limit. Recommended for those who see photography not only technique and perfection but know how to tell stories. The Sony A 7 lll has turned into a compact but quality From the first photos vote 10
