Pros: Price, lightweight, compact, sharp, fast AF, VR, weather sealed, build quality, extra 10mm of zoom :D

Cons: Maybe missing that tripod mount, but i use L bracket on my Nikon d750 so it doesn't matter for me, actually less stuff in my bag :D Also using VR i hear very quite sound, i guess cuz of VR on...

Opinion: I got this lens for landscape photography or more for shooting mountain scenes. Its great lens, i used it first time in Nepal and damn i loved it every single time. Snappy, great zoom, sharp, VR works well, focus and so on. I got this lens instead of 70-200mm f2.8 cuz of lightweight, price and f4, cuz for my style i shoot mostly f8-f22, so why overpay and overloud your shoulders :D I think its great landscape photography lens and i highly recommend. Tamron really did it well with this baby ;) Also this lens in Japan won kind of innovation award, cuz this lens is if full of specs. Really!

Pros: Price, weight, construction, front zoom ring

Cons: Optical quality

Opinion: I've had this zoom for about 7 months enough to get an idea. As written in the pros, the price certainly overshadows everything that is negative in this lens. At full aperture the quality is acceptable, it slightly lacks sharpness and contrast, but from f 6.3 improved markedly. I recommend it anyway if you are looking for a battle zoom, versatile and light with an excellent value for money.

Pros: Build quality, sharpness, stabilization, weight

Cons: Easy to go up with ISO, does not work with mirrorless without FW update, awkward zoom ring, autofocus that depends a lot on the machine

Opinion: I took it to start using lenses more pushed beyond 85mm and I must say that as a first impact it is definitely positive. Very good build quality, sharpness and I'm happy to say that F4 or F2.8 at these focal lengths in terms of blur changes relatively little. You feel a bit the difference up to 100mm, plus it does not change significantly. The real difference is that unless you shoot on sunny days (or with spotlights/flash), it is really rare to shoot at less than 1600 ISO. Needless to say, therefore, that the average yield of the photos is a little more "poor" than brighter lenses, especially if we take into account the fixed ones. The comparison with the 85mm 1.8 is often merciless. Stabilization helps a bit but doesn't work miracles. However, the discreet yield and low weight make it an excellent choice to carry around without too much banging, especially for photographs of events. The real advantage is the really competitive price, which added to the weight, in the end makes you turn a blind eye, especially if you have a car with a good sensor that "puts the piece on it" and lets you take home great photos anyway. The autofocus must be said, however, that it depends a lot on the machine. I have a D750 and a Z6. With the Z6 it is very responsive and easily usable even in conditions of fairly fast autofocus. The D750 struggles much longer and is at the limit of usability. I was hoping that with the update of the FW of the lens the thing would improve but unfortunately this was not the case. On the Z6 I would recommend it in 98% of uses, on the D750 make sure that you do not need it for things with a minimum of "action" otherwise it is not feasible. Perhaps the biggest flaw is that if you don't update the FW, there's no way to make it work with mirrorless cameras. It will give you error and will in fact be unusable. And the tamron tap-in console are another 50-70€ to spend. Luckily I already owned it and the problem did not arise, but if you have an ML it is a cost to be taken into account (or to find someone to lend it to you / update the FW). Last thing that can be improved is the zoom ring. Being covered by the hood when "placed" on the lens, in fact we are obliged either to remove the hood or put it to the lens. Otherwise we will not be able to zoom. Here too nothing serious, but it would have been enough to reverse the zoom ring with that of the focus to avoid running into the problem. Basically a great lens and looking a bit 'in the used you can take it at really ridiculous figures compared to the many 70-200 F / 2.8 that there are around.

Pros: Sharpness, weight, price, blurry, color rendering

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Opinion: Bought for street and motocross races, what to say, it excels. I tested it on 5d iv and on eos R, the AF is fast and hardly loses the subject. The blurry and very pleasant, the same applies to the sharpness that is excellent in the center, obviously at the edges we have a little loss, but nothing dramatic, it is still excellent. The construction quality I find average, more than good but nothing exciting. Good also the tropicalization that I have put to the test several times. It is around 400 euros new with official tamron guarantee, at this price if you are looking for a 70-200 f4 this is the right choice.

Pros: Sharpness, blurry, colors (whatever you say), build quality, price.

Cons: MAF speed not suitable for very fast subjects. A little heavy.

Opinion: Portraits (despite only f/4) and landscapes are his bread. Excellent even in close ups (closed by at least one stop), given the magnification of almost 1:3 at the minimum focus distance. What to say, I was very tempted by the Canon 70-200 f/4 L IS II, but coming back from other recent purchases, I didn't want to spend too much and I was still discovered canvas side having switched to FF. Documenting myself on this Tamron, hearing about it only well and overcoming the distrust towards the brand, also given by the bad experience with the 70-300 "WC", I decided to "try my luck" (I only own original optics). What about, for my photographic genres, never money was better spent. The 70-210 is always sharp (sometimes too much), at every focal and opening and from angle to corner. Only at the maximum focal point is there a very slight drop that, especially in portraiture, I consider more a value than a defect. Another great value for me is the quality of the blurry and the detachment of the floors that he manages to give to my shots. I highly recommend it to those who do not have lightning autofocus needs, do not want to spend too much, but at the same time do not want to give up quality. For optical performance I consider it fully superimposed on the canon f/4 IS counterpart before version that I had the opportunity to try several times. Fully satisfied. Vote 9.5.

Pros: price, sharpness, excursion, MFD, versatility, bokeh, VC

Cons: VC configurations, collar failure, 210mm performance and minimum MFD, lack of AF limiter

Opinion: I've had it for two weeks and I tested it almost daily on the Z6 + FTZ. Before the switch to ML, I had my brother 2.8 G2, which I was very happy about. Now, I decided to have a light 70-200 (pardon, 210), sacrificing a stop of brightness. The construction, although plastic, is very good. Unlike its older brother, the barrel is not metallic, but opaque black polycarbonate (aesthetically beautiful, but easily subject to scratches and marks), the zoom ring is always in an "external" position, so more uncomfortable than the Nikon/Canon version. The two rings (MAF and ZOOM) are precise and fluid. The "tropicalization" is lighter than the older brother, according to tamron specifications, but there are gaskets at all critical points. The collar is not included and the original one costs madness. The AF is not bad at all, especially when the light and/or subject "help" it, but the lack of the limiter is felt, all the more so in more difficult conditions in which it is "forced" to make the complete rounds. Tried on a friend's D500, however, it has improved considerably, of course the camera's AF also matters a lot. The 10 mm more can be noticed, but you can feel even more the excellent minimum distance of MAF (MFD), reaching a magnification ratio far higher than the G2, remarkable I would say. The problem is that at 210mm and at the slightest distance of MAF it is a bit soft, but closing at F8 the situation improves a lot. Outside of these "extreme" uses, it is very sharp already at TA, and has a pleasant bokeh especially at short distances, so it is also suitable for portraits in the absence of a bright fixture. Otherwise, the bokeh is still pleasant, albeit a little nervous with certain backgrounds, but in line with the other 70-200 I had (2.8 included). The overall yield is excellent, except for the flare resistance which is not the maximum (as on almost all canvas zooms). The VC is good, but it is not very customizable: it does not have a pan function and the viewfinder/shot priority must be assigned via console tap-in. By prioritizing the viewfinder, you notice a noticeable improvement precisely in the "viewfinder", but according to Tamron it is less efficient for the actual shooting. Personally, I did not notice this drop in "efficiency", but I still decided to leave it on "standard". For fast-moving subjects, at least in my modest "tests", it is better to turn it off. It is clearly a stabilizer not optimized for a "sport mode", and it can also be seen from the actual lack of a panning mode. All in all, given the price and the characteristics, I consider it a very valid alternative to the 70-200 F4 of the parent companies, another lens that honors the new Tamron line. Grade 9+. (I'll update the review if necessary).

Pros: Price, construction, excursion, sharpness, autofocus

Cons: weight slightly higher than canon

Opinion: Taken at 400 euros new, less than the canon is used. Well it's an amazing lens for its price, I had the canon 70-200 not stabilized and the tamron 2.8 the old one with the old type autofocus, one you couldn't use in the evening and the other was big and heavy and unusable for moving subjects. I think this is the best trade-off between portability/price and quality. The stabilization works well and is very sharp. The only thing compared to the canon are the 100 grams more but at a price halved and with 10mm more that hurt do not, also focuses at a really low distance that is a plus not a little! I think it's one of the best goals ever made by tamron, for now the only upgrade that would make me throat would be to the canon rf 2.8 that weighs a little more is small but costs 6 times as much

Pros: Price, sharpness,MAF,tropicalized.

Cons: Lack of bracket.

Opinion: About a month ago I bought for only 399 euros this new lens from online store, the first experience with a third-party lens and I have to say that it behaves very well, sharp already at full opening and if you settle for a diaphragm F4 you will not find any defects ,good construction and fluid dialing, the built-in lampshade helps to protect the lens, sincerely the maf occasionally in low light conditions tends to lose the moment (which with the 55-250 stm did not happen to me) but I do not consider it a problem, also the VC is surprising as well as the distance of focus. In conclusion if you don't need the 2.8 this is a great compromise saving nice bucks but having a full-range lens still with F4 on display!

Pros: light, compact, very sharp, well done

Cons: lack of tripod collar

Opinion: I bought this used lens but the perfect conditions after reading opinions about it. Trying it calmly I was pleasantly surprised mainly by the sharpness but also by the ergonomics and practicality of use. precise and fluid motion. the VC is great. With a 36mm extension tudo, the minimum distance is reduced and becomes practically a macro. Great...

Pros: Stabilizer, F4 fixed, barrel length does not change by zooming

Cons: Tripod mount Ring not supplied and the official one costs 150 euros!

Opinion: It is my first telephoto lens, and I think it will remain for many years. It's really well built, and from a sense of security in handling it, the quality of the photos is great (but I'm not a Pixelpipparo). The real strong points of this optics are the size, the weight and the aperture F4 for all focal lengths, is already very sharp at full aperture, from its maximum closed one stop. Good playback ratio to start making some photos "macro" the stabilizer is something incredible, left me speechless. I think that especially for those who have Nikon is a great choice, to have quality at a price not excessive. I mount this lens on the dated d3100, and the weight is slightly unbalanced even if not so much as I feared. I would have liked to take the ring for the tripod but I think that 150 euros are insane, in the end even without the ring the camera remains stable on the tripod. In the end I paid 615 euros sold and shipped from Amazon, to find it at that price I made the mail for a few months. I think at that price is really a great purchase, especially for those looking for a tele to be able to carry around without the weight of a f 2.8 but with more quality than the 70-300 F4-5.6 or similar.

Pros: Sharpness, light, compact (does not lengthen when in the zoom), tropicalized, minimum focus, cost of new

Cons: Not supplied tripod mount.

Opinion: Goal bought yesterday in the store. I was amazed by the size and lightness. Still to be tested properly, therefore, I will write further on my views on image quality and blurred in the various light conditions and situations. Pros and cons are hot opinions. I use this lens on Nikon D7200. I found "maybe" a defect in the focus, or a very light ct, difficult to hear but gives to think. Obviously on my specimen. Except that I'm not having autofocus or front or back focus issues. The focus is accurate and fast enough. I would like to ask by private message, and Nikon owners, if they also perceived when they focus, not in manual of course, that very light TAC. Thank you. Update 24/09/2018-VC, compatible with duplicators, hard enough nuts and fluid, excellent in backlight, chromatic aberration to TA absent, many distortions acceptable because they are minimal almost nil, AF fast QB in all situations even in the photos Night, handling, weight, no problem front or back focus (my specimen), AF not suitable for sports hunting, the TAC that I felt is physiological of the lens seems, in fact, that now no longer feel. The blurry at all apermi is very soft almost creamy, so suitable for portraits (for those who do them of course). AF compatible with extension tubes for more pushed macros (I only make close-up simple almost artistic, so I do not do text) but to those who can interested, good to know. The image quality is excellent up to the edges (on APS-C).

Pros: Incisiveness, sharpness, compact light, beautiful blur, focus distance,

Cons: It has no tripod ring supplied, only flaw.

Opinion: I would say excellent work by Tamron, has created a really good lens, very light, tropicalised, with a high level of incisiveness and Nitidetta. I use it on Nikon D 810 and I have to say that as far as detailing the colors, the focus is of the highest level, even its minimum focusing distance is a point in favor, I don't say either macro but we almost miss it. At f 4 has a beautiful blurry, and already at that aperture is very clear. What to say I am really satisfied, and would recommend it.

Pros: Optical quality, minimum distance MAF, blurry, weight, does not change size with zoomed and MAF, price

Cons: Tripod stand is not supplied. If you settle for F4 as maximum aperture, none.

Opinion: After a fair number of shots I can say that this lens (in my case mounted on FF) does not disappoint. Full aperture is clear at all focal lengths, F5, 6, reaches maximum performance. The blurry is very pleasing, merit of the circular diaphragm with 9 lamellas. At the minimum distance of MAF provides good images "macro". The automatic MAF is fast and silent, just a few hesitations in limit situations. Good the response of the stabilizer. Essentially a classic 70-210 zoom that combines portability and optical quality with the compromise of a maximum aperture at F4 constant over the entire focal ecursione. The value for money is absolute good.
