sent on 01 Febbraio 2026 Pros: value for money Cons: Nothing Opinion: This Tamron 28-75 f2.8 was a pleasant surprise, light, bright, cheap and with a very good image quality. In combination with the Batis 18mm f 2.8 it represents a very light mini mountain kit and allows me to cover almost all needs. (at the limit adding the 70-200 f2.8 II with the two teleconverters when the need arises.) Ultimately I am satisfied with this lens and recommend its purchase. rating 9.5
sent on 22 Gennaio 2026 Pros: Weight, size, magnification, optical quality and autofocus, price Cons: Nothing Opinion: Used on a recent trip to India, I appreciated its weight and small size (considering the type of optics) and its good versatility. Ok also the autofocus and the rendering of the images at all focal lengths. Against nothing, but you have to keep in mind that 28mm are very different from 24, especially in video where there can be camera crops. In conclusion, excellent zoom for photography/shooting of subjects and for portability.
sent on 04 Settembre 2025 Pros: Manufacturing, materials, AF, sharpness, tropicalization. Cons: Non-internal zoom, lens hood mount. Opinion: I have listed the pros. The con is however irrelevant to the result. After years of (quality) prime lenses I bought this bright zoom and was surprised. Very sharp and very usable at TA, with a very good image quality at least up to f/9 (beyond that I practically never close). I use it on Nikon Z5II and mainly for studio portraiture, the eye attachment in AF is always lightning fast and precise. Rings, in my sample, fluid the right point. Now I don't take it off anymore except when I need more brightness. Very annoying to attach the lens hood, especially in the rest position. Also highly recommended for the excellent price/performance ratio.
sent on 06 Luglio 2025 Pros: Light focal range Cons: Not worth the money Opinion: I hope it is an isolated case only on mine but chromatic abbreviations that compromise the quality of the files tested both on 1dx II and Sony a7iii the files seen at the first are beautiful, then just crop the photo very little and You see the poor quality, sigma 24 105 art f4 not from these, problems a little disappointed, The only positive thing is the 2.8 aperture too pushed colors, just photograph a no entry sign at 10 meters and you will not be able to see the diamonds that compose it which with Sigma can be seen well even cropping, perhaps it was my specimen
sent on 21 Maggio 2025 Pros: Excellent sharpness, fast AF, quality of materials, unbeatable price for a high-performance and bright 28-75mm zoom Cons: Against?! ... it is a very high-performance 28-75mm f/2.8 zoom; you can buy it for less than 650 euros... I really don't know, not even trying. Opinion: I won't make it long - I'm not an expert - it seems to me a truly exceptional lens: very sharp at all focal lengths, already at F/2.8; "snappy" AF; blurred good; good flare seal; If anyone had doubts about the materials, the perceived quality - for robustness and finishes - seems excellent to me. The price? ... I find that, for the performance offered by this zoom, it is almost a gift. Super recommended. Grade 10 and praise! If I ever had to change it, for my way of photographing, I could only consider - if and when it comes out - the next 28-200 mm tamron f/2.8-5.6, only for the advantage on the focal range (the current version of the 28-200 dreams of the sharpness of this one).
sent on 09 Marzo 2025 Pros: Image quality, lightness, quality of materials Cons: slightly large Opinion: Quality lens with amazing sharpness, I use it on Sony a7III. Despite the "low" price compared to other more famous lenses, it keeps up with performance above the range in which it is positioned. Slightly large, true, but the lightness and quality of the materials make it really pleasant to use. Promoted!
sent on 18 Dicembre 2024 Pros: Sharpness, weight, focal aperture, AF speed, price Cons: No video stabilization Opinion: If I think about the photographic use of the lens, I must say that it really amazed me. It is an all-rounder lens, super bright (f2.8 aperture) and therefore suitable for both light and night shots. The lens is very sharp, the blur is very nice to look at, the focus is very fast. Using it for videos is anything but perfect, the only thing .. stabilization is completely missing.
sent on 03 Dicembre 2024 Pros: Light, bright, AF speed, price. Cons: It's very sharp but I thought better... Opinion: Purchased after reading dozens of reviews and various comparisons. I photographed several concerts with nikon z6 and 24 70 f/4 thanks also to the excellent high ISO resistance of the camera. I decided to take a 2.8 to be able to better manage the times. Discarding a priori the 24-70 f/2 8 z series S for cost reasons, I found myself having to decide between the nikon z 28-75 and this Tamron which have more or less the same price. I found it an excellent optic, light, with lightning-fast autofocus and if possible with colors, in my opinion, slightly more saturated than nikon z. What I didn't expect was the (albeit not striking) difference in sharpness. I took 10 photos in auto mode with Tamron 28-75 f/2 8 Di III VXD G2 and 10 identical with Nikon z 24-70 f/4 S..... Well, the photos compared and enlarged on different details are sharper with the Nikon.... at least at TA. However, the fact remains that, in my opinion, Tamron's G2 is a truly high-level lens.
sent on 04 Novembre 2024 Pros: Lightweight, sharp and compact Cons: I would have liked it to be even more compact Opinion: Taken for Nikon Z on amazon to recover a return, it was almost a bet, I had its predecessor G1 in a Nikon-branded version, but it did not convince me at full aperture and strangely the color rendering with low light was not satisfying, so I made it. The Tamron G2 version was something else, always sharp already at full aperture, AF without hesitation, compact and light, it almost became a faithful companion in night street outings. The Nikon 24-70 Z 2.8 is superior but I reserve it for other occasions. But this Tamron, also used for portrait and fashion photos, has all its reason, with a vividness of colors very close to the Nikon Z. And I don't need post-production. Fast and accurate AF, tested on both Z8 and Z6 III really gives the maximum and has never disappointed me, could be the surprise for a bright and compact lens. 10 laude
sent on 02 Luglio 2024 Pros: Lightweight, well built, very responsive and precise AF, tropicalized, excellent color rendering, minimum focusing distance, very sharp already at f2.8. Cons: Honestly I don't see any, especially for its price but above all for the performance it offers! Opinion: I've never been a fan of third-party lenses, zoom or fixed, I've always preferred to spend a few euros more but buy native lenses for my cameras. I bought this zoom mostly out of curiosity but above all because in many reviews on the web, it is almost praised for its optical qualities, moreover at a cost accessible to many. As soon as it was installed on my Sony A7 Mark V 61 mpx I immediately thought "he doesn't have it, he will never be able to hold all these mpx!" ...... surprise! I was really stunned and I even exclaimed in a colorful way so the images are beautiful and sharp already at f2.8, incredible! Beyond the really remarkable detail not to mention the very fine and creamy Bokeh, even the colors that this lens returns are fantastic, warm and with that look very similar to the photographic films of the past, so much so that already the Raw files often do not even need interventions, they are already beautiful like this! "Obviously, you still have to get off to a good start with the settings in the car." Then, it has a really surprising focus at the minimum distance, especially at 28mm, where you almost touch the front lens so close you can get to the subject, this also allows excellent macros "see photos on my profile". The lens itself is well built, the materials are not "Premium" but not poor either, the feeling of solidity is perceived and there are no games whatsoever between the moving parts. The dials rotate smoothly, perhaps a little too soft that of the manual focus. The AF is very responsive and extremely accurate, I have never encountered any particular difficulties. Bought new on Amazon for just over €780.00, I have nothing to complain about and I'm fully satisfied. I highly recommend it!
sent on 15 Maggio 2024 Pros: Image Quality, Construction, Macro Ratio, Low Extension, Ergonomics Cons: Nobody! Opinion: Sold for manifest stupidity and then bought back. I use it for sports photos on APS-C and it has a perfect rendering that there. Comfortable, perfect at any length and aperture, yet beautiful to look at. I just can't find fault with it. It also has a programmable button and a USB-C socket to be able to customize some functions via app. I've never tried a GM, but how much better it can be, I don't know.
sent on 24 Gennaio 2023 Pros: excellent sharpness even at full aperture - fast and precise autofocus - excellent construction in relation to the price Cons: for 850 euros I did not find any Opinion: Before buying this Tamron 28-75 second version I used for a long time the 24-105 f4 Sony, amazing lens and very versatile thanks to stabilization. Unfortunately the f/4 aperture indoors was sometimes not optimal and, hoping for a good quality at full aperture, I opted to buy this lens. On a constructive level it seems well made and the rings are fluid and silent. It has a button and a slider with two programmable modes (via software as it has a USBC socket directly on the body) that allow various configurations. At an optical level it turned out to be beyond the most optimistic expectations as at full aperture at f2.8 it is sharper (even if slightly) than my Sony 24-105 at f4, surprising edges with a very slight drop to f2.8 but sharp almost as in the center at f4, always higher than Sony. Fast autofocus and without uncertainties. As for the 24mm focal length, which sometimes proves to be very useful, I bought a 24 f1.8 AF Samyang (another surprising lens that I will review shortly) and, for the part concerning the focal length greater than 75mm, the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 iii VXD, another very performing lens and of which I was very satisfied. In my opinion Tamron has worked very well on these lenses, I just have to use them for some time to verify their reliability. For now I can only recommend them.
sent on 23 Giugno 2022 Pros: EXCEPTIONAL SHARPNESS - HIGH-PERFORMANCE AUTOFOCUS - FLARE RESISTANCE Cons: ZOOM GIERA MAKES SOME FRICTION NOISE Opinion: I tried before buying this lens, its rival par excellence, or the sigma contemporaney 28-70 f2.8, given immediately back after a few days since the lens with a not exceptional definition, and at 70mm it has a REALLY important collapse. Just arrived the Tamron G2 28-75 the first thing you notice is a little more weight and size, but we are on another planet, the comparison does not hold, clearly superior, slightly warmer colors than the sigma, but really a sharpness almost from fixed optics, if it beats it on equal terms with the sigma 24-70 Art. Very satisfied with this goal, taken at about 800 euros new, with 5 years warranty, what more could you want??? It also has a proprietary software with usb c socket where you can set many parameters, as well as a button also programmable If you are index between this and 28-70 sigma, do not think twice and buy this tamron G2 .. you will not regret it.
sent on 23 Marzo 2022 Pros: Build quality, tropicalization, programmable key, minimum AF distance, image quality Cons: Barrel extension decidedly noisy and not very reassuring, price, "ring" diaphragms Opinion: I bought this Tamron 28-75 G2 after trying the first version, looking for better build quality, decent hand feedback and some optical improvements (which never hurts). Construction side is definitely better, looks more solid and the barrel with different shapes improves the feedback and does not look like a Chinese Pringles tube. Too bad instead for the extension of the barrel during the zoom, which makes a tremendous noise of friction and reduced tolerances. It is hard to shoot, noisy in the video field and from a wrong impression on 900 euros of optics. His is the same as a barrel with grains of sand inside, but already from new. Moreover, if it already has such reduced tolerances when new, the time you get stuck a few grains of dust what will happen? The programmable button also, among the various functions, offers one that seemed phenomenal to me: the focus ring can be transformed into a diaphragm ring! Too bad that then it is not so functional, since it does not change value in a regular way and without clicks it does not return feedback. On the optical quality nothing to say, so much stuff. Sharp, lightning fast AF always, pleasant blur, focus even closer than before. Much faster, more reliable and more accurate than the first version You really do everything. I am not convinced that it is worth spending 900 euros for this instead of 500 for the first version used guaranteed, considering that it still has some diffettuccio .. EDIT: About the last sentence, in the end I returned it in favor of the first version at half price. A few more sacrifices, but nothing dramatic compared to the economic difference.
