Pros: Sharp, light lens, has f2.8 on 17-20mm (good for astro photography). Zoom and focus rings has excellent smooth. Great coatings and weather sealing :) Has 77mm filter thread.

Cons: Missing numerical scale, previous model of this lens has it, so i dont know why Tamron wont added o this one. Not internal zoom what mean bit of front lens is extending on zoom few mm. On autofocus mode, focus ring zooms and spins itself wile focusing, so be aware where you hold your hand. Significant vinieting on f2.8 but can be fixed in post or reduced in camera. Lens cap is horrible, always falling off :(

Got it for landscape and astro photography sort of 2in1 lens. Haven't tried on astro yet, but i will try for sure soon. Highly recommend on FF body as 16-35mm cheaper option (stuffed with great specs) great price and quality balance.

Its 24mm are clean, zero distortion, gives a sharpness already at full aperture unthinkable for other mid-high range lenses. Where the Tamron touched the limit, with Sigma I obtained not only greater precision for the most distant details and rather neutral colors, but a tone was perceived, a background character that transpired from the photos giving something that other lenses do not do. The only drawback is the af of old conception, there is no "full-time manual focus" (or MF override), as is now possible on almost all modern lenses, so between MF / AF there is just a physical trigger ring-engine, therefore you must NOT focus manually if in AF mode. The focusing speed is good but not excellent, typical of non-ultrasonic motors. Optically, however, it is a jewel: very sharp already at TA (it is an F2.8 up to and including 20mm and an F4 beyond), especially in the center of the frame, but the edges are still excellent; the color rendering is faithful and the contrast very good; excellent resistance to flare; good distortion control and above all the possibility of correction in post-production (while distorting, especially in the 17-20 range, it does not have "wild" distortions); the minimum focus distance of only 28 cm allows creative use (with a very pleasant bokeh), maintains excellent quality at the upper end of the focal length (I compared it to 35mm F4 with my 35 Z and holds up well).
