Pros: Sharp, light lens, has f2.8 on 17-20mm (good for astro photography). Zoom and focus rings has excellent smooth. Great coatings and weather sealing :) Has 77mm filter thread.

Cons: Missing numerical scale, previous model of this lens has it, so i dont know why Tamron wont added o this one. Not internal zoom what mean bit of front lens is extending on zoom few mm. On autofocus mode, focus ring zooms and spins itself wile focusing, so be aware where you hold your hand. Significant vinieting on f2.8 but can be fixed in post or reduced in camera. Lens cap is horrible, always falling off :(

Opinion: I got it 2 month after getting on market. Love it. Great my old Tokina 11-16mm replacement on FF. Love it and try to use it as much i can. Got it for landscape and astro photography sort of 2in1 lens. Haven't tried on astro yet, but i will try for sure soon. Highly recommend on FF body as 16-35mm cheaper option (stuffed with great specs) great price and quality balance.

Pros: Light, solid, sharp, filterable, versatile and bright enough too

Cons: Likely need for autofocus micro-adjustment

Opinion: I've been using it for several months now and when I want absolute quality I bring this wide and the 70-300L, nothing else apart from the fifty in between. The pros describe well all the qualities of this lens, which made the score fly up to 10. The only defect (probable, however, not inevitable, and in any case obviously solvable with the AF calibration procedure) is the possible need to make the fine micro-adjustment of the AF on the wide side (17mm) and / or on the telephoto side (35mm) due to the fact that it is a third-party lens. This therefore makes it not recommended to be used on machines not equipped with this feature (AF micro-adjustment).

Pros: All do, light to be a zoom. Excellent sharpness but never as a fixed. Exceptional value for money.

Cons: Mah maybe the sharpness but against a fixed.

Opinion: Spectacular lens a very light zoom for landscape and street. Vignette slightly at full opening as they have already said but nothing serious. I had several zoom and fixed wide angles. I must say it loses a bit 'with the latest generation fixed (Sigma art- Nikon G) but with the zoom does not lose anything indeed sometimes even better. I also had the 15-30 2.8 1' I did not see all this difference except for the weight. Even with 14-24 Nikon indeed perhaps the latter even a little worse. So for me a well-deserved 9.5! Brava tamron!

Pros: Very light, excellent sharpness, contained flare, minimal distortion.

Cons: It is not a superlative lens with exceptional sharpness.

Opinion: I tried it in different light conditions and I must say that it defends itself very well. It manages very well the backlight, contained flares (but still present), good sharpness in the shadowed areas and, in any case, more than acceptable results in situations of strong contrast. Vignette very few0, its 17mm are interesting and give satisfaction; the sharpness at full aperture is not bad, from f4 onwards it improves considerably. Ideal diaphragm, in my opinion, f 6.3. The comparison I made with my Sigma Art 24 1.4 (I know it is not a fair comparison, moreover it is a fixed, but I only have this to compare the lenses): if you buy the Tamron to make landscapes or as an all-rounder for excursions, we say that it is a great choice because, if you know how to use, you will take home photos in almost all circumstances. If you are looking for excellence from every point of view, there is little to say in front of Sigma. Its 24mm are clean, zero distortion, gives a sharpness already at full aperture unthinkable for other mid-high range lenses. Where the Tamron touched the limit, with Sigma I obtained not only greater precision for the most distant details and rather neutral colors, but a tone was perceived, a background character that transpired from the photos giving something that other lenses do not do. If you find it used under 500 € do not miss it, otherwise you can find better.

Pros: Light, Very sharp, Small, 2.8 up to 20mm, tropicalized.

Cons: Motor AF a slow wire

Opinion: This is an extraordinary objective. Sharp from edge to edge, resolving, very light and compact. The only flaw, but venial being a UWA, is the AF engine a bit slow. It maintains an excellent balance even if used with adapter, it works really well, it does not regret the Canon L which, however, require a double outlay, and clutter and weigh much more. That 2.8 aperture on the wide-angle focal length makes it also suitable for photos of the Milky Way. It is also tropicalized. What else could you want?

Pros: Sharpness, yield, bokeh, brightness, price, weight, upgradeable, 77mm filters

Cons: AF, lack distance scale

Opinion: Excellent lens that fully reflects the excellent standards achieved by the new Tamron lines. Beautiful aesthetic "business style" (except for the matte paint too prone to scratches), very good build quality in relation to the low weight: it does not give me at all a sense of fragility, the movements of the helicoid are fluid and precise and the optics are well balanced. It mounts the widespread 77 mm filters. The only drawback is the af of old conception, there is no "full-time manual focus" (or MF override), as is now possible on almost all modern lenses, so between MF / AF there is just a physical trigger ring-engine, therefore you must NOT focus manually if in AF mode. The focusing speed is good but not excellent, typical of non-ultrasonic motors. Optically, however, it is a jewel: very sharp already at TA (it is an F2.8 up to and including 20mm and an F4 beyond), especially in the center of the frame, but the edges are still excellent; the color rendering is faithful and the contrast very good; excellent resistance to flare; good distortion control and above all the possibility of correction in post-production (while distorting, especially in the 17-20 range, it does not have "wild" distortions); the minimum focus distance of only 28 cm allows creative use (with a very pleasant bokeh), maintains excellent quality at the upper end of the focal length (I compared it to 35mm F4 with my 35 Z and holds up well). Coma very well controlled, which, combined with the 2.8 of the first 3mm, also make it an excellent candidate for astrophotography. In addition, it is compatible with the console tap-in and can be updated and adjusted. I use it with the latest firmware of its (2) on my Z6, and it works perfectly, with the advantage of the IBIS. Nikonists just have to be careful about incompatibilities with older bodies: it has the electromagnetic diaphragm for which the same limitations apply as the Nikkor "E" lenses. Knowing both the Nikon AF-S 18-35 and the Canon 17-40, I'm sure I can say that this is superior to both. Finally, excellent price, especially if import. Rating 10-.

Pros: Embarrassing lightness and sharpness for a lens that looks like a toy.

Cons: nothing.

Opinion: Excellent yield and the variable diaphragm from F 2.8 down does not create problems if you leave a slight margin of ISO automation. Very light from embarrassment, you forget to keep it hooked to the SLR and is always ready in any shooting and atmospheric condition. Never a disappointment. Highly recommended for street and sporting events where you need wide shots. Compared with Canon EF 17-40 and EF 16-35, I noticed substantial differences for the better for this small tammy. -update June 2021- I'm using it with R adapter on the R5. Excellent results. The Ibis of the R5 works great and the lens churns out details and beautiful colors. Maybe it will take a long time before you think about the excellent RF 15-35 f2.8

Pros: lightness, sharpness, footprint

Cons: external af, lack of distance scale, vignetting at 17 mm

Opinion: Finally a wide zoom with which you can do everything or almost everything. I don't understand what nikon is waiting for to do with it. Very sharp all over the frame, very light, compact. The only mole that vignettes well at 17 mm and on the nocturnal is irrecoverable on the sides. If it had been a starting 15 mm it would have been an unsurpassed and definitive wide angle in my view.

Pros: Light, compact and nested.

Cons: Lack of distance scale

Opinion: Finally the wide wide zoom I was looking for. Light, compact, good build quality, in spite of the weight from a sense of solidity, tropicalized, sharp all over the frame already from the maximum opening, vignette and distortion imperceptible, and at a very acceptable price, what more to ask for? I use it on Nikon Df and even the autofocus seems to me fast and accurate. A zoom that allows you to make street, landscapes, reportage, set portraits and close-up photos given the minimum distance of MAF, in short it will always be present in my backpack.

Pros: Lightness, excellent sharpness, focal length excursion, 2:8 up to 20 mm then it becomes 4, excellent manual focus. ..

Cons: Lack numerical scale scale, but a large number of new lenses are not found.

Opinion: Bought with a bit of fear, but I'm really satisfied, I use it on Nikon D 810, and I must say that it makes fantastic shots, full of details, fantastic sharpness, almost absent distortion, sharp to the edges already with aperture of 4, Monto good sharpness even at 2.8 , possibility to assemble screw and 100 mm sheet filters, which I use a lot. Be a lens to have, the cost at the end is as good as surrender. I recommend it.

Pros: Excellent quality of the shots, light and Versatile.

Cons: The manual focus scale is Missing. Switch from MF to AF Noisy.

Opinion: The lens I was waiting for, with the range I needed at the Bottom. Not being able to turn with 3 Fixed. Tried just bought in iceland, I think it works really well. Very quiet and precise focus. Some distortions to 17 and 20 that do not disturb in the Landscapes. Excellent treatment on the front lens. The Arrivatami lens does not suffer from Front/back focus.
