The autofocus works very well and with the 3D tracking hooked the subject does not let go, very performing and precise. The weight in the long run is felt so the use of a monopod is necessary especially for me who have problems with my hands, but overall it is a lens with an excellent performance both for the IQ and for its sharpness. I'll have to test it more thoroughly but at the moment I'm very happy with it. I add a small update and I must say that after several shooting sessions both for sportsmen who practice windsurfing -Kitesurfing - hydrofoil I got excellent results both on the autofocus side I did not miss a shot, all in focus with a more or less fast burst, with an image quality definition and cleanliness in terms of iso that really amazed me.

Freehand is really agile and pleasant to use and if you keep it at 499 mm, you can keep the F 6.3, when you go to 500 mm shoots at F6.7. I use it on a7R3 and I can photograph without problems the fauna and also birds of prey in flight, such as the kite, the buzzard, the golden eagle.
