sent on 24 Febbraio 2025 Pros: Lightweight, small, now old-style sensor also in terms of overall performance Cons: High ISO noise, rather delicate LCD monitor Opinion: I tried my first sony taking an A7R with 120,000 shots on my shoulders; I wanted to put the old Nikon manual lenses back into operation with a light and properly built body. I did not find any flaw on the point of build quality except that the LCD monitor tends to become opaque over time. As far as the photographic performance is concerned, the 36 Mpx sensor (which should be very similar to that of the Nikon D800) I find that it works well with these lenses, except for a presence of noise that can be felt practically immediately (I would say from 400 ISO upwards) but not excessively invasive. the most important thing for me is that the camera body (like the other A7 first series) is really small and light and (at my age) I think it is a "unicum" wanting to carry three lenses (e.g. 20/35/105 AIS) with a total weight under 1.5kg ...; in short, an experience that I recommend to those who do not use AF and are looking for simplicity and lightness combined with a respectable quality (see some shots in my latest galleries) ...
sent on 17 Ottobre 2021 Pros: Detail, versatility, minimum footprint, perfect files with zero light Cons: Very delicate machine, electronic system still in its in its inscesay Opinion: It was my first Sony. A bomb . I took pictures with zero light in basements and really difficult situations: it never disappointed me. Perfect files, an incredible yield. I left it because unfortunately it was very delicate and the electronic system was extremely unstable. In any case I put it under pressure in situations complex climates and temperatures. I still miss it .
sent on 05 Aprile 2021 Pros: Extraordinary sensor, used price, dynamic range Cons: Now dated system, autofocus, iso seal, battery life Opinion: What to say, I owned it for about a year and it always rapped me great shots, unfortunately but over time I found it more against than pro. Let's start from the fact that it is one of the first mirrorless, therefore a system still "unripe" in some respects especially with regard to the really poor autofocus and the iso seal also poor. The battery doesn't last long, but it's a problem sony has only chosen to address in recent years. Ergonomics is not the best, in my hands the grip is a little small.... The nice thing is that today it is also located at 600 euros or so which is definitely a great price for a 36mp fullframe The sensor is really a lot of stuff, I think it is the same as the D810, it has an excellent dynamic range, in my opinion the top for landscape photography If you can also combine third-party optics via adapters (without demanding anything from autofocus) Super recommended for those who want a great sensor or need croppare or print images while maintaining excellent quality........
sent on 18 Febbraio 2020 Pros: Excellent image quality, price of used, decent body quality. Cons: Delicate paint, battery ergonomics snap noise, buffer, AF, tethering without preview (with C1), important shutter vibrations Opinion: Used in a photo architecture and interior session. So given the cost, I would say that currently with about 500-600 euros you take home a camera with a good 36 mp FF sensor, with all the limitations of the time, but I would say that for static/landscape photo and generic use on easel is really great. The quality of the native colors does not excite me, especially the rendering of reds, but the files are very workable and with little effort, it is to find a right lut for our case. The noise of the shot is really impressive and embarrassing, the viewfinder is dated , the camera is slow throughout AF buffer that to save a raw file with pose of 30 sec it takes even over 20 sec , which say everything surmountable, given the potential of a 36 Mp sensor that returns abundant details to make even large prints. The sony optics are expensive, the good ones, better in my opinion go on third-party optics, obviously from case to case, not being Sony user however I feel to recommend it for those who have to do special work, I used the camera for about 3 hours in a row.
sent on 03 Dicembre 2018 Pros: Makes you understand what mirrorless means Cons: System still immature, innovative for the time but today immature Opinion: If the lens is to have a FF bigpixel spending little, and using it only for landscapes or still life, without therefore the need for an AF sniper, is still fine, indeed, for the quotation of the used, I would say it is almost a musthave. But if you need some AF (portraiture or vaguely some sport in motion), the machine looks blind. To be used well aware of its limitations in this field. If you intend to use it with vintage lenses, beware of surrender, the 36mpx do not forgive! Improved grip in the second series, needed improvement!
sent on 20 Marzo 2017 Pros: Lightness, the possibility of using all the "vintage" goals, good sensor, wide dynamic range Cons: the black paint of the car goes away easily, battery life Opinion: rnHo bought this car and I'm chuffed, use this body with my camera Canon FD kit that with the advent of digital technology and the Canon decision not to use the mythical objectives canon fd, I had put everything in cascione and continued to photograph with a Panasonic Bridge, but now that I bought the sony A7r mounted on the canon FD lenses is a pure fun. The machine is used in manual or aperture priority and will not be mistaken clicks. Except for the focus, of course, it remains manual and a short-sighted like me sometimes a cane shot him ;-))
sent on 16 Settembre 2016 Pros: Lightness, usability, quality of photos. Cons: Personally I have not found nothing wrong. Opinion: Sony was the first to have produced a usable sensor in digital history with the 0.3 megapixel Sony Mavica, (other times) produces sensors of almost any Nikon, the quality with these premises there is all. And 'a light machine, but at the same time has a good feeling of strength I use with so-called objectives "vintage" rnche unfortunately with my Nikon D750 I could not use properly for different focal draft. An excellent "Beast." Ps: ISO range of 50 to 25600
sent on 16 Marzo 2016 Pros: High resolution viewfinder, image quality, video quality, ability mf optical use. Cons: Number and dedicated objectives cost, battery life, delicacy, high ISO, noise ergonomics. Opinion: This car really offers an amazing resolution that is especially noticeable in enlargements of the PC or prints 50x70 up. In your hand feels like a toy even though it is a concentrate of high technology, personally I prefer a body that is heard in hand robust and stable, I found the touch, also a little delicate and you have to be careful not to slam anywhere because black coating is away at once and you see the silver metal that lies beneath. The viewfinder is really a phenomenal thing, comfortable and bright, also owns the peaking focus allowing Perfect focus even if it is not always 100% accurate especially of large apertures. The image quality is generally good although the noise is already known by ISO 2000; even videos (avchd with H.264) encoding are really good. Unfortunately I was pushed to change this body because of the optics because there are so very few dedicated than other brands and also being very expensive (I find unacceptable spAKING 2300 Euros for a 24-70) that in the end, despite being zeiss, solve the vast number of MPs less than other nikon or canon that cost half or even less if you buy used. The really poor battery life, 300 shots to the limit and even videos just over half an hour continuously. Convenient (and also perhaps mild) the orientation features. I find it almost unnecessary to buy this machine in order to have a light body if you are interested in shooting with af dedicated objectives in their weight as those for SLR apart from 3 or 4 pieces if using vintage lenses instead makes sense because between the body and two goals, maybe 28 and 35 mm, do not even get to 1kg and footprint is minimal.
sent on 29 Dicembre 2014 Pros: image quality, compact and lightweight Cons: autofocus system is evolved as the high-end SLR Opinion: After a year of use, I am fully satisfied: the choice I would do (I divested SLR 6d and 5d2 and its kit canon). RNLA use (along the a7) with objectives and leica r mm, tse canon, sony 55 fe zeiss and more. Fully satisfy me, and above all it is a pleasure to go out with 35 and 75 Summilux with a single shoulder strap type Blackrapid, without the weight of two cameras and without sacrificing anything in terms of quality (indeed) .rnScattare over 100mm becomes challenging if you want use the magnification for focusing freehand and with moving subjects is preferable a serious SLR with a lens with autofocus performance: however, on my way to photograph, that's fine too.
sent on 04 Luglio 2014 Pros: Size, quality, stratospheric sensor dynamic range to scream, noise content (but not exciting). Cons: AF limit of sufficiency, poor equipment (user manual, lack of external charger), battery life poor Opinion: I went back to the mythical 36MP Sony sensor, having owned the D800E years ago and after selling the kit Fuji mirrorless. rnL'impressione is upsetting based on use with Zeiss 35mm f/2.8. I made comparisons with Canon lenses in my possession (currently use a 5DMK3) and 24-70 @ 35mm f/2.8 II it is losing out, this is to give an idea of ??the value of this oggetto.rnHo then performed a test with the Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 lens with Metabones adapter III and the results speak for themselves: the same lens used on 5DMK3 does not give the same results. I believe that there is a wide-angle lens on the market just as spectacular, then on A7r really gives the best of sé.rnLa richness of detail and image in general is a pure enjoyment. I found out, and I provide this information for the benefit of the friends of Juza, the RAW processor I've always used (Capture One Pro 7), does not read RAW files at the same level as the SW supplied by Sony. This SW is a nail in terms of performance (even on the MacBook PRO performance chand usually use), but I think the end results will give ragione.rnE 'a surprise, but invite you to do the tests. ACR in my opinion is still low focal peggiore.rnA I have not encountered problems due to vibration down meccanica.rnLa battery life make it obligatory to have (at least) a spare.rnrn
sent on 07 Marzo 2014 Pros: Dimensions, construction, sensor, color user interface. Cons: Battery life, auto focus (?). Opinion: Amazing camera. The detail returned by the sensor is nothing less than impressive and I come from an already excellent Canon 5DII. I did not think possible to get a more detailed file and nice to work with Canon, but instead what it is. It is also very compact! It is neither larger nor heavier than a Nikon FM. Needless to say I was expecting for some time and did not disappoint aspettative.rnGli only drawbacks that I have found are a battery life much lower than expected and the noise of shooting ... and a dry mechanical "clack" that partially cancels you can take the advantage of passing inosservati.rnPurtroppo use only manual lenses so I do not pronounce on the focus speed.
