Pros: Image quality, excellent blur

Cons: Blurry frames every now and then, weight

Opinion: I returned it 8 months ago because out of 10/20 shots one or two are blurred. Which bothers me enormously. And I'm talking about the pairing on Sony A 7 IV. Only this lens does it. The Viltrox 85 mm, for example, doesn't miss a beat. The same goes for the Sony 24 105. The Tambron 28 75, likewise, never a blurry frame. So I think it's just this lens with this flaw. Moreover, the previous version I also did so.

Pros: Construction, robustness, excellent quality

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: One word: exceptional! Fast and precise focusing in every situation, buttons and switches at will, excellent sharpness. An all-rounder that sooner or later is essential to have in your kit. I use it almost daily for any situation, both photos and videos and I always get excellent results. Of course the weight is felt but it is absolutely worth it.

Pros: Build, sharpness, price

Cons: No one as far as I'm concerned

Opinion: Well built optics, massive but well balanced, fairly small dimensions. Lightning-fast AF, super sharpness, minimum focusing distance useful for close-up and detail. At this price it is really difficult to find better. As much as I prefer fixed lenses, this one as a quality all-rounder will accompany me for quite a while.

Pros: Focus speed, sharpness, compactness, design.

Cons: Nothing to note that can be said against it.

Opinion: I admit that I am not a good commentator on photography despite the fact that I have always practiced it, so I limit myself to describing a few things. Given that in the past I have had several 24-70 all-rounder lenses that then after a year at most I resold because I was never fully satisfied, I wanted to take this lens because I had some events in view where an all-rounder lens was needed. I recently tested it in a wedding shoot for 12 hours without ever changing it, what can I say, it was fantastic at every focal length, it never missed a shot, it always responded well in an infallible way. The best thing in my opinion is when you have something in your hand that gives you security in your work. This is priceless. Of course, holding a lens like this Sigma mounted on a sony 7lll in your hand after so many hours is felt on your wrist, it is not a light lens but I do not consider weight a defect, I have learned that weight is very often synonymous with quality .. Quality has a price but then in the end it is what gives so much satisfaction. This Sigma in addition to being well built also has a beautiful design, I find it an elegant and refined lens and it is a pleasure to hold it in my hand. The eye also wants its part. I would buy it again and I think I will always keep this lens with me. Advised

Pros: Phenomenal construction, attention to every detail almost maniacal. Very robust. Top optical quality on all focal lengths. Interesting minimum focusing distance. Super competitive price.

Cons: Even if it has benefited from a slimming cure, it is still an impressive perspective.

Opinion: The Sigma 24-70 2.8 DG DN II is impressive when you think about what it costs. For me it is one of the best all-rounder lenses at this price. Compared to its predecessor, it's sharper throughout the frame and range, enjoys faster focusing, and features more controls including a de-clickable aperture ring, all wrapped up in a tropicalized body that's 10 per cent lighter than before. It is complete with everything you can imagine, a programmable button, the aperture ring with the lock button, the lock that is released simply by rotating the zoom ring (very convenient), the possibility of using the aperture ring without clicking, lens hood with lock button, in short, there is everything. Added to this is excellent quality at all focal lengths and, icing on the cake, it also has a very close focus so you can make beautiful close-ups in the environment. At the widest focal lengths, it has a very slight vignetting that can be easily resolved in post. The edges at all focal lengths are excellent and, very interesting, very usable even at full aperture. I had to sacrifice the spectacular Leica 24-90, for me, the all-rounder zoom par excellence. I sacrificed it because despite the superlative quality and a stamp of its own that if used well provides shots of great satisfaction, it is too heavy and for some time I have been working to rationalize the photographic equipment also to have more compact lenses even if perhaps of slightly lower quality.

Pros: Solid construction, tropicalized, aperture ring, weight, versatility, minimum focusing distance, very responsive and precise AF, sharpness to spare, reasonable price for the lens category.

Cons: personally I don't see any!

Opinion: In my opinion, and for the years of experience I have gained as an amateur photographer let's say "evolved", I can safely say that this fantastic Sigma lens has nothing to fear when compared with other zooms of the same category, and not only that, I am also sure that it can give a hard time even to several fixed lenses of the most famous brands for its excellent performance. Already at f/2.8 and for almost the entire image, not just in the center, it has a class-leading sharpness! But the thing that leaves you pleasantly surprised is that the sharpness remains constant throughout the focal range. The edges, at full aperture, are slightly behind the image center "as it should be for the category of lens, especially for bright zooms like this". Having said that and just to be clear, we are talking about an all-round professional lens, you can also appreciate the excellent bokeh, never nervous and above all very fine and creamy, the points of light are perfectly circular and very pleasant to the eye. I must confess.... I have never been a lover of third-party lenses, whether zoom or fixed, but I must also admit that this lens convinced me 100%, not only for the optical qualities but also for how it is made, in fact, the materials can be seen and felt to the touch that are premium, made to last! even the lens hood, which often leaves a bit of time in many lenses, is built really well. Still in terms of construction, the rings, all of them, are fluid at the right point, even that of the diaphragms has the right step in the transition from one diaphragm to another, moreover, there is no play between the moving parts. The zoom barrel when it is at maximum extension, has absolutely no play sign this, that the construction is very fine and accurate. Another important aspect to point out, although it is not a lens designed for macro photography, in part it is as if it were, in fact the minimum distance is only 0.17m at 24mm and 0.34 at 70mm, thus allowing you to get very close to the subject and make a close-up of an insect, flower or anything else really rich in detail..... so much stuff!. The AF is fantastic, of course, the camera body also plays its part, I currently use a Sony A7rV, but I can safely say that it is very responsive and extremely precise, for sure it will not disappoint even the most demanding "like me". As for the mental fears that many people have about chromatic aberrations or flare, which I personally give little weight to "unless they are too evident", well I can tell you that even these aspects are almost non-existent or so minimal that you don't even notice the presence if there was any, especially in terms of aberrations.... As we all know, the perfect lens has not yet been invented. Ultimately; I am super satisfied with the performance of this superb all-rounder, and without any reservations or indecision, I highly recommend it!
