sent on 25 Dicembre 2024 Pros: One of a kind, TA quality, AF speed. Cons: Bulk, weight. Opinion: Bought at 320€ used in perfect condition and I consider myself very lucky. It's a one-of-a-kind lens, great for someone like me who loves wide angles and wide apertures and would have had a hard time choosing between a 24, 28 or 35mm. Even if it is not a 1.8 it does not change much. I use it with the Canon R6 and K&F adapter and it works very well in terms of speed and autofocus accuracy. It has the strengths and weaknesses of all sigma art, that is, it has excellent image quality, beautiful colors and sharp already at TA and important weight, but it is very robust and resistant, it fell from about 1 meter high and only got a small scratch in the body, but not the lens. It is not stabilized but with the stabilized sensor and the weight that assists me to stay still it takes perfectly sharp photos even at 1/10 of a second (maybe I could push myself even more). I recommend that you take the sigma dock and upgrade it to avoid communication problems between the lens and the sensor stabilization. Highly recommended, even if unfortunately you can't find many of them around (at least used).
sent on 26 Giugno 2024 Pros: All. Cons: It's addictive: after trying it, everything else is looked at with different eyes. Don't have it. Opinion: Lens that is talked about very well, so I found a used specimen at a not impossible price I decided to buy it. I think it was by far the best decision of my entire forgettable career as an amateur photographer. Extreme sharpness, fearsome contrast and colors, relentless AF, general fixed photo quality and even more, so much so that I find it better even than the 50 Art and not by a little. Maybe I should try the 40, always Art, but for only 5 mm difference compared to the maximum focal length of the 24-35 I don't know if it's worth it. It weighs and bulks a lot, but what does it matter if the results you get with its use are so out of the ordinary? In a time frame of 0 he simply nailed himself to the camera body, from which he is immovable from then on. Someone complains about the absence of the stabilizer: in reality, with an aperture of f 2.0, moreover fully usable, it would be of very little use, apart from the fact that it is a compromise device, suitable more than anything else for dark lenses and usable only in a limited range of situations. Needless to mention the sturdiness and finish of the body, the rings and their fluidity, especially compared to certain Nikons of over 1000 euros that look toyy-like. Such a contrast leads some cars to suffer, where the differences between areas of peak summer light, therefore very strong, and areas of shadow are particularly pronounced. Looking at the files taken in similar conditions, at first one is perplexed, except to realize not only that the possibilities of recovery are enormous, even with a DX like the Nikon D 7200, and then to think that these possibilities are given not only by the sensor, as we usually read, but also and above all by the qualities of the lens used. In fact, it has never happened to me to be able to make such recoveries on shots taken with other lenses. Now, actually since the end of 2022, I am finally able to evaluate the potential of my machine's sensor, which is really very high. Of course, the zoom range is not particularly wide, but the 24-35 should be observed for what it is: a lens that offers the classic focal lengths of 24, 28 and 35 in a single body and with exceptional quality, plus all those intermediate between the three mentioned. I just wonder who sold it to me with what they could replace it with. For me, he's still regretting it. It's so sharp, even with moving subjects, that it makes you reconsider the actual need to use mirrorless cameras, with all the contraindications they bring with them, starting with the electronic viewfinder. Rated 11.
sent on 27 Marzo 2024 Pros: Crisp everywhere, solid, fast, bright, and more Cons: The ones we already know before: big, heavy, without stabilization and with a limited focal range Opinion: A crazy goal. Do we want to start with the flaws? He has them, but if he didn't, it would be science fiction. Did we mention it's big and heavy? But it is solid and balanced on an important body; Is it "only" F2 and not stabilized? But it's already razor-sharp like this and there is plenty of light; vignette to TA? Yes, true, but nothing that can't be solved in post; Does it have a limited focal range? Very true but it has the performance of a 24, a 28 and a 35 pro in a single element; Is it too dedicated to events and weddings? It is, but it's also amazing for landscapes, portraits, astrophotography, reportage... In addition, it focuses very closely, has no chromatic aberrations, limited distortions and manages to have a nice bokeh despite the wide focal lengths. I forgot: you can plant the sun in the middle of the glass and it only gives you a more beautiful photo. It's clearly a particular lens that you "have to use", of course, but when you need it, it does its job in an incredible way.
sent on 11 Dicembre 2023 Pros: Sharpness, colors, robustness, beautiful bokeh, last but not least the autofocus!! Ps. update after many more photos... Cons: Not having had it before two days ago... Maybe it's the fact that the zoom ring rotates in the opposite direction for us canonists..., but it's a trifle!! Opinion: A truly superb, wonderful lens! Really three fixed lenses in one! Sharpness really at the highest level and not annoying! It's sturdy and solid! It has a really creamy blur and makes every photo a 3D! Excellent auto focus that is enhanced with mirrorless cameras and makes it stand out!! There are those who say that it weighs too much, in my opinion it is the physical proof of how excellent this 24-35 is and how much substance there is!! It strengthened my thinking... Mirrorless lenses cost proportionally a heresy!! I think they can hardly reach this quality, with a much higher cost! If you are undecided, do one thing, buy it used on Amazon and at worst send it back, but I warn you, it will be a lot of love at first sight and at first shot!! Ps. update after many more photos... Apparently the focal range is little... Actually, there really is a world from 24 to 35mm!! It's an amazing lens that the more I use it, the more it excites me!!
sent on 25 Luglio 2022 Pros: Sharpness, overall quality equal to fixed optics Cons: F2 vignetting, slight distortion, Opinion: Evident vignetting at TA correctable in post production, slight distortion at 24mm, already at 25mm disappears. Obviously you have to do the calibration. For the rest it is a wonderful optics. Perfect for wedding photography or various events. It is at its best from F/2.5 to F/11. The weight I do not see a problem the quality in this kind of lenses weighs but not so much. Many see the 35 as a limit in reality it is not. Because getting to 35 with this quality repays you in all respects I consider it much better than the various 24-70 on the market as regards sharpness not to mention the general quality of this lens between focal lengths 28 and 35 is Equal to fixed lenses or even better!
sent on 29 Marzo 2022 Pros: Excellent construction, 3 fixed focal lengths of greater wide-angle use in 1, microcontrast, excellent yield on the entire frame, excellent bokeh, impeccable AF (on 1Dx mark II Canon), attractive quality / price ratio. Cons: Heavy and coarse, filter diameter 82, is a compromise. Opinion: I bought this lens because I was looking for a lens that would integrate the classic 3 focal lengths of greater wide-angle use such as the 24, 28 and 35mm. As soon as you take it out of the package and taken in hand you immediately realize that the optics are of great quality, you can see it in the choice of materials used, from the fluidity and softness of the rings and the quality of the details, a convenient case is supplied to store it really well made. You mount it in the car and shoot: wow!!! It's amazing the quality of the image it returns! At 24mm it is monstrous at 28 gorgeous while at 35 perhaps it loses a thread of sharpness while remaining exceptional and we are talking about the whole aperture, just close at f2.8 and at every focal length, it becomes a blade in the true sense of the word, very sharp at the borders of reality. The microcontrast is really excellent, as well as the bokeh, f2 and 35mm gives a beautiful blur ideal for example for portraits set both indoors and outdoors. The autofocus, infamous in the Sigma Art 50 and 35mm f1.4 here is just a memory, I use it on CANON 1Dx markII and it is impeccable! Out of 100 shots, at least 95 are in focus, practically never wrong, I do not know maybe they have improved the algorithm or I have a good pairing camera body in any case the error is almost nil. Now let's talk about the focal length, it is certainly a compromise the zoom range is minimal and you go on the fly from 24 to 35mm so it is not suitable as a handyman but you have to see it as a fixed that if necessary can provide a wider or narrower image depending on the needs. I find it excellent as a lens for a photographer of events such as ceremonies as it allows you to have a good versatility giving the need for excellent bokeh thanks to the f2 aperture. The fact remains that it is large and heavy and I do not see it suitable for genres such as street for example because for this type of photography I see more indicated a fixed 35mm for example as could be the Canon 35mm f2 IS. In my opinion another masterpiece signed Sigma in its Art series, if the primary intention is to have the quality of 3 fixed in 1 buy it with your eyes closed and you will not regret it absolutely, as long as you accept its "defects" or weight and bulk but in the end, in a bag how much weigh and clutter 3 fixed lights? Grade 10 laude, great Sigma.
sent on 10 Gennaio 2020 Pros: crisp, bright, precise and fluid, Art series construction, lightning-fast and precise focus, colors Cons: Weight Opinion: I have this lens for a long time and it is rare for me to write a review about it. But I feel like I have to leave a comment to one of the lenses that is accompanying me in my small and short career as a photographer. I have tried many lenses, no one else has ever given me unlike this such a feeling of solidity precision and reliability. The photos it returns are gorgeous. You can work on f2 already but give the best of yourself to f4. The f2 vignette is light and often personal-flavored can also please. The distortion is really minimal and can be easily corrected in ps. Having also had the 24-70 2.8 canon and the 35mm sigma art 1.4, I can compare them and say that with the former it shares the reliability, speed and precision of focus with the second colors, weight and goodness of the image. I recommend it to those who report of any kind and who have no problem carrying such a weight. The fashion of mirrorless is justified but when we talk about glasses guys or they use good or we might not have them and we know that if the glasses are good to force they have to weigh a little more.
sent on 21 Novembre 2019 Pros: It seems to use a fixed, and this for a zoom I think is the nicest compliment Cons: Painful caps at the Zeiss level, but just change them... Opinion: With this Art sigma's japs have really surpassed themselves, they have pulled out an incredible zoom (the brightest ever) that allows you to work on the classic focal 24, 28 and 35 as if you had a fixed. Yes, because the quality in each of these focal points is equal to or higher than that of the best, take a ride on the test of the 24-35 Nikon attack on Optical Limits (formerly Photozone) and then we talk about it. Embarrassing clarity, three-dimensionality and versatility (although it's just a 2x), unimpeachable assembly and excellent materials combined at an extremely advantageous price make it an essential optics for any lover of grandangles. What? Weighs? Well, it's an Art, and those like me who love this series don't really ask the problem. On my 850 it is perfectly balanced, very ergonomic and deadly, on yours you just have to try it... I recommend it, and as always I add "if you have the patience and expertise to perform the fine calibration of the maf with the appropriate Sigma dock". Otherwise forget it, don't waste time and settle for the Nikons, the Art is not for you. Why do I push myself to say that? I'll explain: several users have the courage to write "maf perfect, mine is not to be calibrated" but then when you go to see many photos on these reviews you realize that these gentlemen are blind, or do not know the meaning of focus , of the two o's. The Art are measuring tools and for their characteristics and their speed the fine calibration of the maf is mandatory, period. Then don't say I didn't warn you.
sent on 03 Settembre 2019 Pros: landscape versatility, uniform sharpness and egregious medium openings, uniqueness, construction superior to normal ARs but still not granite Cons: weight (unusable for street), focal excursion perhaps too small, actual utility Opinion: An optics that I really appreciated in Trentino, where trekking I could photograph everything from flowers to mountains (the opening and the slightest distance of MF help ). The strength of this lens is definitely the fact that it can be considered a "fixed", but it has the peculiarity of being able to vary the focal length. The quality of the shots is in fact well above a classic 16-35. The negative note is that the focal excursion is very small, so I would consider it more a 28mm than a croppa. We add how the weight is challenging, and on mirrorless it's really unbalanced (although it works well on Sony at communication and AF level). I see it well as an alternative to the classic 16-35 for a professional who wants to give a different "touch" to his photographs, but I do not consider it a must-buy lens that should inevitably be part of an amateur's kit. Given the size and price I would definitely prefer the 28mm 1.4 Art, cropping if necessary, or taking a few steps back. The 82mm filters were another "rip", not having that big ones, it prevented me from using the classic 77mm filters that more or less we all own. To praise the construction that echoes the philosophy of the SPORT series, that is, with the ghieres much more robust than a classic 35-50-85 ART. I do not know at the engineering level what exactly changes (if there is a higher amount of metal ), fact is that the robustness and feeling is definitely better than the tires of the aforementioned early ART.
sent on 01 Aprile 2019 Pros: Crisp and usable at all openings and focal lengths, excellent color rendition Cons: Overweight Opinion: I have this lens for a couple of months and I confirm what has already been written, very sharp at F2 great for night photography, if you want to appreciate the fine details of a better portrait close to f 2.5 or better yet f 2.8. I define a "generic" lens for my personal use, too short for portrait or too long when I need a large angle of field, certainly the best choice for those who do portraits set/ceremonies; Anyway you do not mistake a shot and take you home files from the quality and excellent color rendition. The vignetting is there at F2 and even over but just a click in camera raw (profile correction..) that pretty much disappears. If you really want to find a cons I say the overweight, 970 GR are made to feel on the species when you are traveling and by force of things you have to keep the equipment with you for several hours, for this reason I will change it for lenses more specific to my kind , having to make a choice in terms of weight, but always of this wonderful series. Sometimes I happened that the external lens is tarnishes and there is no way to dry it in the presence of moisture in my opinion due to the metal material used.
sent on 04 Febbraio 2019 Pros: 3 fixed in one lens single, build quality, sharpness, AF Cons: Heavy, not weather sealed, the tires of the ring nuts are ruined by the rain Opinion: I'm in love with this lens. It's like having a 24 a 28 and a 35, fixed at the same time. The little focal excursion for me is a merit. You'll allow yourself to not lose the philosophy of the focal you're using. In Ceremony It is very convenient to have a 35 that becomes 24 or 28. Sure F2 is certainly not 1.4, but it is the price to pay. I use it on 6d which makes torque at 5d III which mounts either the 50mm or the 85mm. He's on the 6d I never unplugged it. Never calibrated
sent on 24 Agosto 2018 Pros: Excellent image quality, excellent construction, nice to see. Cons: Weight from zoom 70-200 2.8 Opinion: Sci-fi quality at all diaphragms and focal lengths. I use the above optics on Nikon DF and D810, and it is stratospheric in resolution and colors, always balanced. However, if I came back I would not make a similar purchase, I'm considering to take lenses dated type the fixed AfD 24,28,35, very compact and light, the same quality, today I do not understand why we tend to lighten the cameras and weigh the optics, Mahhhh, Mystery of sales.
sent on 18 Maggio 2018 Pros: F/2, sharpness, color rendering, construction, accepts filters (82 mm) Cons: The gasket is missing on the graft to prevent dust/moisture. 24 mm visible distortion. Vignetting at f/2. Opinion: Good lens. Better to consider it as a fixed 28 which if necessary opens to 24mm or closes at 35 mm because if you take it thinking about 24-70 obviously you will be disappointed by the limited focal length excursion. Sharp lens on the whole frame; It is a blade at almost all openings, it gives the best under f/8. It is like having in the bag 24mm 28 mm 35 mm all f/2; It does not replace a wide-angle pushed from 20 mm down (use alternatively the 20 Nikon 1.8 which is still less sharp at the edges, at least my specimen). Anyone accustomed to the 16-35 or similar will obviously lose a lot of coverage on the wide-angle side, but will gain F/2 on all focal lengths. Very full chromatic rendering, at all openings, similar to the performance Nikkor with treatment N. Only flaw distorts a bit at 24 mm but nothing that can not be fixed in PP (LR7 incorporates the correction profile). Excellent value for money for a lens that can be updated as well as calibrated at will via additional USB dock. I would say rated 10 according to my tastes, my needs and my finances (lacks the praise only for the distortion to 24mm). Update: Vignetting at f/2 is present but I find the correction profile in LR7 too aggressive.
sent on 03 Maggio 2018 Pros: Sharpness, fast and accurate af, f2, hardly any distortion, price Cons: no weather sealing, heavy, no stabilizer Opinion: In spite of the technical characteristics is not a zoom. The zoom range between 24 and 35 mm is really a small thing: you miss it the first time you turn the focus ring. Start from 24 mm and ends shortly thereafter. I would consider it a fixed from 24 mm which closes a bit. The limit is a 35 mm that opens a few degrees. Optically behaves like a fixed remaining constant at all focal lengths. Really very good sharpness already at room temperature. If you think about it for a moment with a 24 mm f/1.4 and a good sensor that allows some crop do more while saving nearly 300 Gr. But with only 500/600 euros a 24/35 used practically new is impossible to beat its great value/weight unless you buy, Canon at home, a 24 f 28 f 1.8 and 2.8 is a 35 f2 is that though, all together used, over 900 euros spent three separate objectives and with all the inconvenience. Highly recommended for landscape and architecture in 35 mm many consider it good for street. With the aps-h 1.3 multiplication factor becomes almost a normal really interesting. Is a strange perspective must really like that focal range otherwise better think of a 16-35 or anything like that.
sent on 15 Aprile 2018 Pros: Sharpness from f 2.5, range from street Cons: A little pensatino but not over the top Opinion: Let me start by saying that I don't mean of wide angles. I got this lens as all do for the holidays. The zoom range is one that interests me as over 35 mm still wouldn't use a zoom but I would attack the good 50 art. The doubt that I done in my head is what can be better, if it is, this lens optically than a 24-70 g2? I didn't like the first 50 50 art but wow is the beginning of tele, second is one of the most crisp goals ever. I could however make a comparison with the 28 1.8 g that I had and that I had some raw saved. I would say that this is in line with the first zoom lens nikon 1.8 G. Just one note, who says that calibrated in half an hour, sorry but I don't believe it, in half an hour you can calibrate a 50 art, but to make all the adjustments made 16 well of this 24-35 a few hours in focus takes quietly
sent on 13 Febbraio 2018 Pros: Sharpness from fixed optics on all focal lengths, including edges. Vignetting and distortion equal to fixed focal lengths Cons: Weight. Limited focal excursion. Opinion: The optical quality of this zoom is not discussed. Excellent for weekly outings. At diaphragm f2 the images are a bit soft. From f 2.8 up to f.11 inclusive is spectacular. I've never taken a f16, so on this opening I can not judge. Coupled with the Canon 5 dsr allows unimaginable crop. On trips I would like to take it with me, but considering the weight and the limited focal length, it will stay home, replaced by the excellent Sigma Art 24-105 which gives f 5.6 up gives the same sharpness, except at the extreme edges where the 24 -105 can not keep up with 24-35, but much more flexible for greater focal length. Finally the colors that returns 24-35 I had never encountered them with any objective.
sent on 14 Gennaio 2018 Pros: Sharpness, constructive quality, blurred, versatility! Cons: I do not know. Opinion: Given that I have the brothers fixed 35, 50 and 85 art that I took and keep me tight for quality and quantity, I owned as a handyman a tamron 24 70 for which the spark has never taken (but it is a formidable lens). Since I am more of a portraitist and still wanting to keep a handyman, I took this goal. The spark is triggered! The sharpness is typical of the art series and its revolutionary opening, makes you think that even having fixed lenses from 24 to 35 is completely useless and I have a 35 art! Versatile, you can go on vacation and travel with such an eye and accurately capture the light and colors of your places ... then if you want, turn the dial to 35, open everything and you will make a beautiful portrait to those who are with you . Satisfied.
sent on 02 Ottobre 2017 Pros: Sharpness, Colors, Brightness, Contrast, Possibility to Fit Filters Cons: Lack of tropicalization Opinion: Lens from 82mm diameter, with focal length 24 to 35, aperture 2.0, major optical construction with primordial lenses (LD, Super, etc ...). Great, recommended. It has incredible sharpness and superlative brightness. Closing to f4 has an even greater clarity but in low light settings it does not regret the 24th 1.4.rnNot painful note, which is felt most due to the length of the lens. My exemplary has no back / front focus problems, which is used without problems on 6d and 1dx. Almost every shot. A clear step forward for Sigma. Perfectly controllable distortion. Tridimensionality of the shot given by the excellent color rendering and contrast. In the backlight a few flare like other optics (but the situation was extreme, strong light source in a corner).
sent on 17 Agosto 2017 Pros: Impressive sharpness, fantastic colors, ART construction, a real masterpiece. Cons: The weight, but with a lens so inevitable. In addition to this, for me no one. Opinion: Great lens, aesthetically perfect, with quality tires and solid construction, zoom and fluid focus; Sharp at every focal point of a fixed and perhaps even better (see photo life review) with vibrant colors, giving the landscapes something idyllic. Since I've rarely removed the body from the body. In my model I did not have front back focus problems. Obviously this is a targeted choice given the short focal length, but if you are interested in extreme sharpness and chromatic rendering this lens is a real battle horse. Since it is not stabilized you have to be careful at guard times to avoid moving and holding hands, but it is not a problem if you like to shoot landscapes and photos that are not too dynamic. In my case it was love at first shot and I consider it the best lens I ever possessed.
sent on 28 Gennaio 2017 Pros: wonderful sharpness, beautiful colors, qualities that reflect the ART Sigma series Cons: It 'a middle way not easy to accept, since it is very limited from 24 to 35. A bit of distortion to 24mm. Opinion: I upgrade my opinion after 1 month of utilizzo.rnQuesta lens is impressive ... the quality is wonderful. For F2, great, but to really see the wonders, close to f2.8, and you'll end color pictures, sharpness, really extraordinary impact. It 'a quality identical to the fixed Article 50 and 85. The only cons is not obviously have to stop more to F1.4. It is still undecided whether to keep it or directly use Article 35 F1.4. Only that happen, especially in the ceremonial, the need to fly a shorter focal, and have the opportunity to go down to 24 mm without changing lens is a great convenience.
sent on 10 Novembre 2016 Pros: Sharpness at all focal even at full aperture, brightness, building Cons: tropicalization (who needs it), weight (but remember that replaces three fixed lenses) and stabilization (but at what price?) Opinion: fantastic lens, open the first images I could not believe, at f2.8 with a focal 24, 28 and 35 also have razor sharp edges, very sharp f2 in the center with corners sharper still my ex Tamron 24-70 VR. beautiful colors, soft and pleasing blur, very good in the backlight. Vignetting present only to f2 and f2.8 slightly but very useable software (Lightroom use) unlike the Sigma 24-105 f4 Art I replaced, but other excellent lens produced in certain shots a vignette that I could not recover fully. AC almost non-existent and easily eliminated, ditto with distorsione.rnCostruzione solid and excellent aesthetics, hood well done, dial to the focus very wide and smooth manual. It 'a pleasure to hold it in mano.rnDifetti? RnBeh definitely not the cost because I was able to take on Amazon NEW just over 720 Euros and I am from 3 fixed f2 of excellent quality. Stabilization? NI ... too good but it certainly would have made more compromises without counting the price increase. rnTropicalizzazione? YES ... for those who bisogno, but for my use, I never happened to shooting under a rain torrenziale.rnNel my case no front / back focus so I do not have to buy the USB dock for a 40na the euro eliminates any possible defect problema.rnSi ... there would be, if you do not have other optical hike is the focal coverage is very narrow, it is not conclusive ... in my case, having a 14, 50, 85 and 105 fixed, it seems to me made.
sent on 07 Gennaio 2016 Pros: Yield Optics, Constructive Quality, Price Cons: Weight, not Tropicalised, Filter 82mm Opinion: I purchased the lens a month ago, I can only speak well, divinely built, metal body, rubber rings with both excursion very soft. Optically speaking Whereas zoom is excellent, replaces (almost) quietly a fixed 24,28,35. TA also the results are really good. Not to tropical requires some forethought in more bad weather (if you can safely use drizzling). As far as the weight is a fine brick, but being all metal that could not be so.
