sent on 28 Maggio 2015 Pros: Non Cons: Weigt, slow af, sharpnes, tripod socked not smooth. Opinion: the one i had was a bad monday morning product, it need to be adjust a lot on the af fine tuning. After that it was stil not sharp. Sigma Benelux left me with it they sey it was within there specs. Bad aftersale by sigma, at the end i swap the lens for one used nikon 300 mm 2.8. I have lost 500 euro because the shop did not want to give back the money. Make sure you get a sharp one, Sigma stil has bad ones between the the beter ones, they all perform different. So to me all Sigma can stay with Sigma !!!
sent on 05 Ottobre 2014 Pros: Very sharp, even at f 2.8, albeit at 5,6 it becomes more than excellent. Built as a tank! Unique versatility. AF very fast. Very handy and sturdy tripod socket. Cons: The weight: it is a very fat boy! Handholding it for a long period may be a problem...You'll need quickly a monopod...or a tripod! But it is...a zoom, unique in its category, so..."what did you expect"? The hood in reverse position does not lock well. Opinion: I like it! I use it mainly for wildlife photography (mammals and birds). I have tested it with both Canon teleconverters (III generation): with the 1,4 TC, the loss of sharpness is not noticeable; attached with the X2 TC, the results are yet good (if not very good) and the lack of sharpness is not that big! My opinion is that it is a very good telelens!
sent on 02 Agosto 2013 Pros: Build quality, sharpness, versatility, and with extenders you get an excellent 420f/4 and a good 600f/5.6, if you stop down to 7.1 or 8.0 it gets very good Cons: Weight, you have to be very strong to handhold it all day, a monopod is required! Opinion: I bought this lens a few weeks ago, and i have done a little testing. The bare lens is excellent, a little soft on 2.8 but nothing to worry about. I have tested the lens with Canon 2xext.III, and i think it is very promising. I also bought the USB DOCK, and it works fine, but you CANNOT microadjust with canon extenders on the lens, you will have to do it in camera, i have adjustet to -10 with the 2xext.III, and it looks good. I have a small test gallery under my profile.
| sent on 19 Ottobre 2024 Pros: Very bright and sharp in harsh conditions Cons: Obviously the weight! Opinion: I took the lens to use it for indoor sports (gyms are often very dark) and in the theater (light even worse!) and I must say that, used with R6 I found myself, weight aside but that was known, very well. I can't compare it with the Canon 2.8 fixed, but I'm really happy with it. To be used exclusively, for a common mortal, with a solid monopod. | sent on 26 Agosto 2019 Pros: Price to be a 300 2.8 with even the lower focal points, all-metal egregious construction, set with wide freedom via USB dock, all in all balanced Cons: Image quality far from fixed 300 2.8, AF incomparable to fixed 300 2.8, scary focus breathing, unusable filters (there is no drawer for filters near the bayonet ) Opinion: We assume that as usual reviews are done with your feet. The lens has no "great sharpness" either in the center, let alone at the edges of F2.8. It's not shoddy for charity, but far from a 300 2.8 (Nikon or Canon doesn't matter). The guy who can't mount the lampshade should read the instructions. It is perhaps one of the best Sigma, being yes all metal, but having a double hooking system: first you have to "snap" spring, and then you have to tighten a screw (classic supertele screw ). Of course, if you just screw the screw, fall. Macchinoso all for charity, however in the end makes the lampshade on the lens and without unwanted reflections (to put it mildly the various 500 f4 Nikon of the past and the like had a gap between body and lampshade, this does not ). It should be noted that the optical scheme is the same as the old non-Sport version, so the problem of focus breathing remained (at 300mm at the minimum distance of MF is kind of a 150mm, well). The AF is absurdly MINUS VELOCE of 150-600 sports. Both docked on speed priority, the zoommone is faster. This has a little bit of a fuss, I have to confess that I expected more. Of course, you must not forget that you have in your hands a 300 2.8 with the possibility of "getting away" up to 120mm, at a price practically low compared to the counterpart. In fact, a good 300 2.8 of the Nikon-Canon home will cost us at least twice as much. In the used something can be found at the same price, but always overused and with the possibility that it will leave us at any moment. I recommend it to anyone who makes indoor sports photography or absolutely needs to stretch the focal point compared to a classic 70-200, as long as it has an easel. Freehand I doubt you can photograph with this beast for more than 30 minutes (despite the excellent stabilizer). In money, taken used on the 2000-2500 has its because, new to 4000 frankly loses sense, and I would prefer it a 300 2.8 used. Not recommended on Sony, used on the A9 has a very slow hook, in my opinion not exploitable in work contexts. Once hooked it does not lose fire, but you have to hook... |
sent on 21 Settembre 2018 Pros: Great sharpness (including edges) also at f/2.8, colors and contrast superb, precise autofocus and very fast at all focal, fluid ring nuts, generous transport handle (useful and convenient for hand transport). Incredible stabilizer (with selector), possibility to limit the range of MF, possibility to update the firmware of the Xon lens the dock (to adjust MF etc). Cons: Weight (at the limit of use freehand if you are not "Palestrati") and... especially the hood (at rest comes off or easily engages the lens body, not to mention the fastening wheel that you take in anywhere), mounted in operation, just a shot and you Detach (especially taking him to the side in the mountains...), sometimes it is difficult to find the joint to fix it...!! Moreover it is metal, as if the weight of the body is not enough! Does anyone know if there are any third party lens hoods? Filters from 105 (costs a bang the only "neutral") Opinion: A lens that produces extraordinary photos, of great realism for sharpness/contrast/colours at all the focal lengths and at all apertures even already from F/2.8 (I use it at most up to F/8). Great brightness. Incredibly stimulation and useful stabilizer, with selector 0/1/2. The MF is absolutely fast and precise, silent, even with little light (with D750). Possibility to limit the range of MF to speed up further (especially if the light is low). I used it with Sigma Sigma APO 1.4 x EX DG with amazing results. Negative element is undoubtedly the weight of about 3kg that makes it difficult to transport in trekking (backpack or flank) and use freehand! Perhaps it is more an excellent and irreplaceable lens from African safari with car, shed or otherwise mounted on support. Another negative element is the hallucinating lens hood, of which I wrote among the "cons"
sent on 19 Luglio 2016 Pros: Sharpness, internal zoom, tripod bracket, built-in quality, rendered with dedicated multipliers Cons: Weight Opinion: The zoom I've tried all of them (Nikkor 200-500 5,6VR, Sigma 150-500 and 150-600 Sport, Tamron 150-600 and for a short time even the Canon EF 100-400 mkII) or almost (I do not never tried the Nikkor 200-400 f4VR 1 and 2 because at that price and more, I just loved the 120-300 Sport), it always came out winner despite the weight. Well-balanced, with fluid rings and in easy to reach position, selectors function as sliding and precise, the tripod bracket comfortable to grab for transport, tropicalized, in short, the construction is excellent, from true PRO. The yield with the latest generation TC-1401 and TC-2001 multipliers is striking. Currently, the vote of 8.5 in my opinion is ingenious and vigorous.
sent on 05 Maggio 2014 Pros: Sharpness wide open fast and accurate AF. Cons: Weight Opinion: Having owned both the Canon 100-400 Sigma 150-500 that I have to say that this is' a whole new planet that is smooth multiplied. The files are out ready but what amazed me and 'sharpness really spectacular even with the doubler 2x sigma. The only negative thing and 'weight for those who do' stalking can 'be a problem.
sent on 06 Febbraio 2014 Pros: Sharpness, AF very fast, great price Cons: Weight, duplicate 2x AF begins to be uncertain Opinion: I use it for a few months, really good and sharp at 5.6. The AF does his duty without ever being uncertain, it loses a bit 'performance with his Sigma 2x. Great stabilizer. That is all it costs € considering they are half the weight of an equivalent Nikon.rnPer frankly I'm used to, it is certainly not a feather.
sent on 08 Novembre 2013 Pros: Sharpness already at full aperture, AF speed, stabilizer, optimum efficiency even with duplicator. Cons: weight and hood Opinion: I went to this objective having previously had the great canon 100/400 and I have to say I was immediately impressed by the great sharpness already at full aperture, even with ATZ 1.4 the yield is good, since f 5.6 in on becomes optimal. Convenient to transport the large tripod socket which makes it seem lighter. The lens hood as well as being very heavy releases easily from the lens. The AF is fast, slows mounted with the duplicator but still remains more than good. rnObiettivo that I would recommend, the only flaw is the weight, which for someone like me who makes use in the mountains is felt.
sent on 05 Novembre 2013 Pros: Brightness, tripod socket, stabilizer, sharpness, made with Sigma 1.4x doubler Cons: Weight, lens hood. Opinion: I bought this lens earlier this summer and I was immediately struck by the sharpness and quality generale.rnAlla maximum aperture is already very good and further improves turning a hair, and yield even with the Sigma 1.4x multiplier is good, personally I keep it pretty much always comfortable montato.rnMolto the bracket to position the lens on the tripod, I use it as a carrying handle and shoulder strap to attach it to the backpack while riding in the mountains (and I do a little walking street .. ..) rnCome "flaws" presents the weight 3 kg in transfers that when it is in the backpack are felt, but transporting it in these ways they feel much less, and the lens hood, which sometimes comes off as soon as you touch it, and a "toy" from 3000 euro is not the final massimo.rnIn, I recommend the purchase of this goal, especially if you seek a bright, high-performance zoom.
sent on 03 Agosto 2013 Pros: Price, costs less than half the equivalent Canon.rn Cons: AF speed very slow, Vignette from f/2.8 to f/5.6 and Sharpness visible at all zoom eccezionale.rnGhiera very hard and block distances AF 'interpretare'rnParaluce of hard graft and very pesante.rnAnello tripod that does not allow smooth rotation from horizontal and vertical positions, almost always hangs at the point where you remove it. Opinion: I bought this lens convinced by the many positive reviews and the price much lower dell'accoppiata 70-200 f/2.8 and 300 f/2.8 Canon but it is truly intractable! RnScomodo and difficult to handle ... almost scivoloso.rnUn hood that can be used as a weapon from what has pesante.rnrnUn autofocus system really slow ... slow ... and luckily they called'' sport'' rnrnMagari me that I was not able to use it ... since it is the first (and last) lens is not original that I take.
sent on 23 Luglio 2013 Pros: good sharpness considerably already at 2.8, closing F4 to F13 remains outstanding, then tends to return to values ??still high, the good contrast, in situations of backlight does not suffer from too much light in the room while still very sott ocontrollo abberazione and vignetting Cons: the collar of the foot down and makes it not very happy with monopod mounted using the bezel focus then I think for quick foot is changed, the weight should not be underestimated with its 3,390 are in fact 800 gr more than the old version and think in more than 490 300 F 2.8 G ED VR AFS Nikon 490 and less always the AFS 500 F4 G ED Nikon always Opinion: I've got to be able to test one of the first in Italy for about three days thanks to M-Trading, paid for a workshop that I held May 5 at the Oasis Angitola the Regional Natural Park of the Serre, I would say that I was really pleased , as always, the Sigma can tell her without fear of comparison with the more famous brands, on my website you can find the full review and download the PDF here is the link rnrnhttp :/ / www.michelangeloserra.com/relazione120300.pdf
sent on 17 Giugno 2013 Pros: Sharpness, even at full aperture f2 / 8 albeit slightly soft, excellent stabilizer 4stop effective!, Fast and quiet AF Cons: Weight, cost Opinion: From the few tests that I could do these days I have to say that sigma is doing a great job with the new lenses, this telephoto zoom lens is truly the perfect companion for those who practice sports photography and naturalistica.A f2 / 8 over the entire focal range the images magnified to 100% are a bit 'soft but overall are very good just slightly close the diaphragm and here it materializes everything perfectly, the maximum sharpness is reached and f5 / 6 Needless to say, multiplied with the Canon 2x III and 1.4x III sharpness is still great, the ultrasonic motor is very fast and nearly silent while I would say excellent image stabilization that can bring down the shutter speed to 1/30 s at freehand! (having a hand firm enough) calculated that the weight of this little gem is about three pounds, here is the weak point the weight! to solve this problem just use a good foot in the world so as not to tire too the arm or a good tripod to finish the price which is a bit 'high and not very close at all but with a optical cos ig &rave, rare and unique worth every penny!
