sent on 21 Novembre 2020 Pros: tropicalization, double ring, pentaprisma, essentiality, ergonomics, sensor, photographic astro use Cons: autofocus that can be improved Opinion: We are at the end of 2020 and I decided to review this product after years of use. I'm one of the lucky ones who didn't encounter the magnet problem. This reflex also fits perfectly for astro photographic use as it uses a sensor with good efficiency and low noise. I am in love with his ergonomics and the pentaprisma used. I prefer it to other products and I will return to buy a Pentax in the future.
sent on 29 Dicembre 2019 Pros: Excellent ergonomics, effective tropicalization, good quality materials, double ring, quality pentaprism, ISO management up to 6400, battery life Cons: Some models suffer from a magnet problem. Nothing impossible to fix Opinion: A great machine that I continue to use with great satisfaction. He accompanied me (and will continue to do so for some time) in many situations really on the edge for a reflex (for example during the high water, which I remember is salty, in Venice while it dilutes). The perceived and real quality is high. It doesn't even look like an entry-level machine. The materials are very good and carefully assembled. The battery life is very good. Excellent double dial that allows you to have on one finger the times and on the other the diaphragms (often using the TAv mode I find it very comfortable). Up to 800 ISO files are extremely manageable. Over 800 and up to 6400 with a little accuracy you can get good quality files for prints of discrete size (printing 30x45 to 3200 ISO is not too much of a problem, indeed). the cons are basically zero or almost zero. Some models (few from what I know) have suffered from a problem the magnets that leads to take dark photos. On ebay the magnets are located at about 10 degrees and are in a fairly accessible position to replace them.
sent on 21 Marzo 2019 Pros: Good quality general species if compared to the price of competition-possibility of correction of front/back focus on objectives-tropicalization Cons: Autofocus deficient although improved compared to older models-the problem of "dark photos" Opinion: I had for ten years a Pentax APSC outfit, before the K10 then, when this was beginning to be "old lady" I added the K50. Generally Satisfied with the quality of the machine and the zoom kit, not bad even the high ISO yield, at least in relation to the class of the machine and the date of the exit. The AF, however improved compared to that of the K10 (it needed little), in the most critical situations is slow and inaccurate. Very useful calibration for individual AF lenses to eliminate front back focus problems. Unfortunately after about two and a half years there was the notorious problem of "dark photos": The magnet that controls the diaphragm crashes and the machine always snaps to the minimum closure. Problem that occurred first sporadically, then with a total block. Brought to repair it worked for a few months then the defect reintroduced, repaired a second time, put away and sold any kit. Too bad.
sent on 24 Dicembre 2017 Pros: double ring nut, tropicalised body, pentaprism viewfinder, AF fine adjustment, sensor stabilization Cons: autofocus system does not live up to its competitors Opinion: Purchased a year ago as a first non-automatic camera. Despite the competitors pariprezzo have some options that make them more attractive to a beginner (wi-fi, touch-screen, swivel screen, GPS) this is less equipped with frills but has all the features of a semi professional machine (double ring, a true pentaprism, magnesium body with a good 81 gaskets). Pentax does not produce SLR specifically for the entry level sector but proposes old bodies of a couple of generations at supermarket prices, those who look more at the substance than at the contour accessories will appreciate this philosophy. The only weak point is the autofocus system that is not really a lightning.rnPagata as a Canon 1300d, a year later I can not be satisfied. For now, there are no signs of problems with magnets.
sent on 17 Ottobre 2017 Pros: The typical compactness of Pentax machines, construction accuracy despite being an entry level, with well-assembled controls and the right response, numerous options offered, more than acceptable the autonomy guaranteed by the battery, AF reasonably fast and very accurate even with designed designed by the machine, flow rate and power of the pop up flash, price, general feeling of solidity strengthened even by the weight not small , tropicalized, good color rendering and high ISOs. Cons: Fixed display, which I particularly dislike, few external commands and need to switch to the info screen or enter the menu to vary certain shooting parameters, HDR and digital filters on camera are not saved in RAW and therefore it is necessary to switch to JPEG, white balance not always up to scratch. Opinion: It is a gift and "a caval donato does not look in the mouth", however, all in all, considering how much it has been paid (bought in kits with 18-55 and 50-200) gives a lot and has an excellent price /quality ratio, as in general is pentax tradition; the sensor gives on average good self-proof and, in conditions not at the limit, returns excellent colors, a good dynamic range (in my humble opinion not quite equal to the "big sisters" K1 and K70 but can stay there) and a good high ISO response, although better not to go beyond 6400; the mpx are only 16, normally more than enough even if today's digitals have now accustomed us to much more and some difference, to the greater magnifications, logically you can see ... it must be said that so far I have tried it only with the optics in the kit, it will be interesting to make the comparison with more performing optics. The AF, cross and delight of pentaxians: as mentioned, so far I have only used it with the objectives in kits, controlled by the engine of the car but I must say that I feared worse: for my needs, the speed of the AF is abundantly sufficient even if I wanted to test it: I carried out a few bursts on rather fast cyclists approaching and moving away and I must say that the percentage of the photos in focus was comforting, with the only limits given by the solution of optics and sensor. In live view, nothing special to report except that, understandably, does not excel in low light; under normal conditions, nothing to complain about The optics in the kit: they are not the same as those sold separately: although I can not make comparisons, I know for a fact that non-kit optics have metal attachment and these plastic ones but... they have a rubberized flange around the graft and so they are WR; even for optics you can make the speech made for the machine: reasonably well assembled, with no games between the rings that offer the right resistance (even that of the MAF) even if, logically, plastic is the master; the yield is quite surprising, given the evident economy of the whole, with definition and colors of respect and a MAF, as mentioned, precise, without front/back focus phenomena. In essence, a more than dignified entry level, or, optionally, a valid "forklift" able to face even non-optimal climatic conditions, a machine that, logically while, will give its best in light conditions not at the limit and not to require a lightning and infallible MAF but that, used for what it is able to give and perhaps with more performing optics, can give unexpected satisfactions. EDIT: a few years later, I noticed a curious phenomenon: the K50 (at least my specimen) is somewhat "picky" as far as SD is concerned: I practically always used it with the same SD (it is said that it is better to use SDs always on the same machine) a few days ago I put another one and, after giving me "card error" the machine literally "nailed" ! He didn't answer the controls anymore and I couldn't even turn it off! After removing the battery, it started normally except then, always with the same board, present the same problem, even if I could turn it off without removing the battery. Put back the card I've always used, it's back to normal.
sent on 02 Ottobre 2017 Pros: Ergonomics, simple yet elegant design, tropicalized, quality materials, ease of use, double ring (timing / diaphragms), efficient up to 12400 ISO, not least! Cons: nobody Opinion: Professional category machine. I replaced an Olimpus OM D EM 5, for me the K50 is another category. I am a landscapist and a naturalist, just in manual mode, the Pentax really did a masterpiece with this mid-level machine, which in my humble opinion competes with top-class machines. In two years I've been superstructured .... I have bought the Pentax K 3 mark II, a great car, but when I miss my K 50! It's a shame I'm out of production K 50- Anyway, I would recommend anyone who wants to take photographs seriously with affordable costs to the most. Brava Pentax!
sent on 18 Marzo 2017 Pros: Tropicalised, double ring, pentaprism viewfinder, excellent ergonomics (for me), possibility to use batteries in an emergency, built-in level. Cons: display fixed Opinion: purchase satisfied, buy back, it gave me a lot of satisfaction. The only drawback rupture of the diaphragm mechanism (known problem for k-30 and k-50) resolved in warranty Fowa, since then zero problems. It happened to get wet but being Tropicalized has not created any problem. I like jpeg churning, always balanced colors and blacks decisi.rnHa 11 focus points, they may seem few, in my free hand is more than enough, using a tripod you can use the grill in Live View and the points become 100.rnPunti strengths are the double ring, the pentaprism and the level incorporata.rnMi like the convenience of the switch for selecting the type of focus, for a moment you switch from manual all'autofocus.rnIl display is fixed and this it becomes a problem if you want to do macro photo flowers at ground level (must lie on the ground) for this reason not recommend to anyone who wants to practice this type of fotografia.rnrn
sent on 14 Febbraio 2017 Pros: Pentaprism viewfinder, weather sealing, double rings, simple and intuitive menu, excellent construction Cons: Autofocus system indoors with white light normale.bilanciamento not always satisfactory Opinion: My first reflex held for more than two years, about 7000 shots, always impeccable and without any great consigliatissima problem, only weak point is the autofocus does not always efficient. I read lamemtele ABOUT fact that it breaks the system handling diaphragms, frankly my car has never given this problem. If I had to advise him I would do without problems.
sent on 23 Settembre 2016 Pros: Colors, double ring for speed and aperture, beautiful and look at, comfortable in hand, good resistance to high ISO and tropical conditions and also cheap ... Cons: Maybe the battery that the cold does not hold much ... Too bad it lacks the mirror up function Opinion: I already had a KS1, and I also bought the K50 for the double ring and weather sealing. I have not found flaws in a year and a half of use rather intense and every time, even under heavy snowfall. Beautiful colors, fine details, double ring and simple menu. many direct commands and more the "info" menu of fast settings. HDR Room, the focus motor in the Room, stabilization on the sensor and double ring, also, are somewhat rare commodity in this price range. Great sensor, I think it is the same as the K5 ... which is saying something! IO I can not fault ... noisy Shutter? That maybe so, but for the kind of photos that I do not matter! Missing only the mirror up function ... finally, I find it convenient direct switch to select afs-afc-mf (often just af-mf, and to switch-afs afc, access the menu) rn
sent on 22 Marzo 2016 Pros: up to 2200 excellent shots in all respects. I use it for astronomy Cons: at 2230 it went into tilt, photos all dark, a defect on the diaphragm lever that characterizes both the k30 and the k50.... and in pentax they know it.cost repair block diaphragms 200 euros Opinion: I keep it because in the manual I feel good about astronomy, otherwise I do not recommend it..... see on the forums various of the pentaxiani.il problem is that having all pentax (goals and various accessories) forces me to buy another pentax for everyday use and right now the most 'cheap' is the pentax KS1....... Update.... I repaired it by following a tutorial found on you tube and now it's great !!!
sent on 26 Settembre 2015 Pros: Stabilization in the camera body, tropicalization, viewfinder with 100% coverage with magnification 0,92x, double adjustment ring, solidity, flexibility of using AA batteries with a special adapter, countless color combinations. Cons: Display adjustable, however if you do not use the excellent viewfinder / pentaprism. Opinion: I am a neophyte in the fascinating world of photography. This is my first SLR, given to me as entry level to try my hand at this fine art. I had the opportunity earlier to know Pentax, even if only with a compact. I was genuinely impressed and very satisfied by this small but great camera. As with all new tools with which it comes in contact, it may take a few days to be able to orientate well between commands. Understood the key points of the screen the user is really simple: the display and the software helps a lot to handle white balance, depth of field, exposure time, aperture, etc. etc. The sensor produces Sony RAW files really nice, with a really interesting range of colors and with the now well-known blacks Pentax. The shades of gray that can be obtained are very interesting, despite the Mp are many available but not at the top (remember that is an entry level sensor aps-c). The handle is solid, even with medium-large hand, despitethe K50 is reduced in overall size.
sent on 27 Luglio 2015 Pros: Sensor stabilization, body solidity, ergonomics, pentaprism, double ring for times and diaphragms, sensor, tropicalization, price Cons: Shooting noise, inaccurate evening automatic white balance, weight (although it can be a pro) Opinion: I have been using this Reflex for about two months. Bought for just over 400 euros new on Amazon. Considering the fairly low price you can't find better in any other brand. The noise at the click is due to the fact that many pentax optics do not have an internal engine for autofocus, so they use that of the machine, which consequently causes an annoying noise. Another small problem is the automatic white balance that often fails in the evening, so manual balancing in the evening is preferable.
sent on 14 Giugno 2015 Pros: Stabilization, tropicalization, pentaprism, double adjustment ring, feeling of strength, ergonomics, excellent quality / price ratio Cons: shutter sound annoying (very strong in my opinion), battery Opinion: From the point of view of ergonomics, construction, materials, etc. It was love at first sight. Good pentaprism. Excellent image quality, especially if you combine optical good standard. The stabilization is very useful, less tropicalization (if you do not have optical bright zinc is useless). With the kit from 18-55, with 50ino Pentax f / 1.8 and with some lenses "vintage" Cosina of my father, I noticed that the raw have a strong magenta cast. Council not to exceed ISO 3200, although it can get to 51200. With the K50 I have not felt comfortable doing street (I prefer the mirrorless optical with pancakes or premium compact), both for its size, either by the strong sound Shutter (very discreet when photographing in the street among the people or the theater). Overall the pros far outweigh the cons and considering the excellent quality / price, I can not claim to be satisfied with this reflex.
sent on 07 Aprile 2015 Pros: Good value for money, weather sealing, double adjustment ring, internal stabilizer Cons: I have not yet found Opinion: I purchased this camera Pentax convinced of its high-value I have to say that I am fully satisfied. Compared with the entry level SLR another widespread brand that I used before the comparison just does not hold water. The Pentax I find it superior in everything from materials not 'plasticky' build quality, dual adjustment ring, not to mention the weather sealing of the body and also the objectives. The Pentax also uses the pentaprism instead of pentamirror of many of the competitors of the same price range. A small gem is the stabilizer inside the camera body that allows you to also use objectives unregulated saving on their purchase. 100% satisfied.
