There are certainly merits such as lightness while being plasticky to the touch, the typical brightness of the optics, the 1.7 aperture is excellent especially for indoors. Very responsive and performing autofocus on my camera, the price is certainly another advantage for such bright optics. However..... guys... but.... Resign yourself to losing a lot of shots. This lens returns flare galore on every occasion and circumstance, often you have to give up the subject because there is a way to shoot it without flare and ghost. It becomes a lottery and often like raffles you only get lost. In the end I rejected it and got rid of it. And honestly, don't tell me that it's normal for such a wide lens because it's not true at all to such an exaggerated extent. In love with the width I even went down as a focal length by switching to a zuiko 7/14 pro and honestly it is another category of lens that is now used and taken home at very low costs. With the 7/14 flare and ghost very little and the inevitable minimum, I never missed a single photo output. In the end I personally do not recommend this panasonic.

I confirm that the distortion is there but now it is a lens recognized and supported by all or almost all photo editing software, so it is a "non" problem, since it still performs very well even at the corners considering that it is a very wide-angle lens (yes maybe there is also a minimum of chromatic aberration but even that with serious software such as DxO PureRAW or PhotoLab is never noticeable in the final result)! Really super-recommended, especially like me if you take it on offer at 433 euros or already there on Amazon with the 5 zero interest installments (even if I had it "free" but that's another story) :fgreen:

The lens hood is a bit difficult to attach and unhook but even it in my opinion despite being plastic is solid. The distortion and vignetting are clearly present but totally managed properly by the DXO correction profiles, I don't know with other software.

Given the negligible weight, the build quality does not cry out for a miracle, it does not return particular solidity in the hand. The lens hood is a toy. I wouldn't buy this lens for landscape but for closeup/mid-distance photography, where it performs best.
