sent on 17 Ottobre 2025 Pros: Sharpness - Good Bokeh - Compactness and lightness - Working AF tracking Cons: AF Slowness Opinion: I've only had this lens for a few days, but I've used it a lot because it's addictive... Combined with an Olympus PEN E-P7 the result is very compact, camera body and lens fit in a sweatpants pocket. The lens is very defined already at full aperture, soft and mellow bokeh, with a good progression of planes. The AF is slow, but absolutely acceptable, noisy, for me it is not a problem since I use it only in photography, AF tracking WORKS, even with face/eye recognition. Minimum focusing distance of 20 cm, I also like it for ambient portraits and close-ups, I have to test it well in landscape and street, but the premises are excellent. From the point of view of construction it is less plasticky than I expected, bayonet and barrel are made of metal, Made in Japan. Recommended purchase, a must buy faithful to the M4/3 philosophy.
sent on 26 Gennaio 2025 Pros: Size, lightness, versatility. Cons: Speed ad. Addiction to always having it with you Opinion: It is about the same size as a cap or adapter ring. Very sharp, it doesn't have a beautiful blur but that's what you expect from a 1.7. Low price. In the camera bodies the small size makes them compact. They fit in the pocket of the jacket or even the trousers if it has large pockets. Must have. The 20mm teaches you how to photograph. A step back x the reportage of the 17th. One ahead for the first portrait of the 25th.
sent on 24 Ottobre 2023 Pros: Compact-sharp-bright Cons: AF in video Opinion: In my opinion, it's not good for videos. In manual focus yes, but in auto focus absolutely. Very slow and inaccurate. For photos it doesn't go AFC. In single-player mode it works well although slightly slow. I tested it on Panasonic GX80 E yes Olympus OMD EM10 Mark 4 Honestly there are no differences: It's fine on both bodies. Very sharp, bright and has a perfect focal length for street but you can also take portraits. Then the compactness on small bodies is the top.
sent on 04 Maggio 2023 Pros: All Cons: Autofocus a little slower Opinion: I own it together with the Summilux 25/1,4. They can coexist. The 20 has on its side the practicality: mounted on a GX9 is discreet and extremely portable. The difference in brightness is irrelevant in practical use and the "yield", the person responsible for the sleepless nights of the amateur photographer, is excellent in both I also have an excellent G9 machine that can certainly not be defined pocket and on this the summilux goes perfectly. The above when I want to play HC Bresson on duty... for everything else there is the Panaleica 12-60 zoom. I dare say that the choice of objectives rather than technical is philosophical. Returning to the 20mm I recommend the 'purchase. In the used car it is at prices that are too close to the price of the new: I would not pay even one euro more than the current 200, including any expenses. However, to be on the side of those who sell, it seems that they go away even more than 250 euros ... What can I say, happy with them...
sent on 03 Aprile 2023 Pros: Compact, really good image quality, great all-rounder for reportage Cons: Autofocus not at its best, chromatic aberrations in backlight Opinion: I had the first version that I resold when I bought the 25 1.2 olympus, but I discovered that in many situations I missed it, such as outings with two lenses only or reportage with only one fixed. I happened to have an opportunity for 160 euros I took the II version, the af has not improved and the aberrations are always the same, but the merits are all confirmed, I also recommend it as the only fixed for reportage to be coupled to the zoom, even in Ta has a very good yield. My judgment applies only to photography as I do not make videos and I can not tell you if it is indicated.
sent on 30 Dicembre 2021 Pros: Sharp, excellent yield, compact, versatile focal length Cons: For some lack of AF-C and focus ring a bit 'inconvenient to use because of the very small size of the barrel Opinion: I bought this lens, new, for only 199 euros with 4 years of FOWA warranty. Aesthetically pleasing in silver color, I find that it has an excellent sharpness and yield in relation to the price. Full opening cartoon, although for me more than a con is a pro because it gives a nice mood to the images. The aperture is a bit slower to close than other lenses so shooting at closed apertures (at TA obviously not) you feel a slight shutter delay. It has the angle of view of a 40mm on FF which, for me who do not particularly like wide angles, represents the maximum versatility: I prefer it to the 50mm that in some contexts is narrow and to the 35 that can be a little too wide. The AF on my GX80 is slower than other lenses but much faster than I expected and the lack of AF-C, for the use I make of it, does not interest me. I noticed though that it is extremely accurate, more than the 25mm 1.7 and the 45mm Olympus. Its biggest advantage, however, is the fact of being pancakes: combined with a compact body type GX80 allows you to have the camera always with you, in a small bag or in the pocket of a coat, greatly increasing the chances of devoting yourself to photography. Now I use almost only this!
sent on 29 Dicembre 2021 Pros: A small jewel, bright, light and of the highest quality Cons: It does not go to AFC (patience, it is not a lens for action) Opinion: I use it on a Lumix GX9, only for photographs, I don't make videos. On the GX the focus is instantaneous in single shot. Ok, it's a bit noisy, but not making videos is not a problem. The quality is really excellent. The focal length is excellent for most situations: landscape, set portrait, street, reportage. I absolutely recommend it
sent on 13 Novembre 2021 Pros: Small, lightweight, good image quality. Cost Cons: AF on E-M5 MKII Opinion: It's the only lens I've resold out of desperation. I may have been unlucky, so maybe not everyone is like that. Before taking it I had read on the net that it gave bands at high ISO, but I have never seen defects of this type. I used it on an Olympus E-M5 MKII and it was a tragedy the focus. I state that this camera has in itself a really ridiculous focus for the price it had. Since the lens has a 1.7 aperture I bought it exclusively to take family photos at home. The focus with the low lights was not the best and in any case the photos were never sharp, had some problems my specimen I think. When I sold it, a videomaker with a Panasonic took it and he also noticed that the focus was not precise, but he used it manually, so the problem was quite relative. Then I repeat, maybe it was my defective specimen. If you are in my condition I do not recommend it. If, on the other hand, you do street and use it mainly during the day and with diaphragms a little more closed than 1.7 it is an excellent lens, it has few defects, especially for what it costs. If you have to make the use that I made of it I recommend the panaleica 15mm 1.7 (if you are not short even the Olympus 25 1.8 is excellent). It is true that it costs much more, but at least the photos come as they should come and the keding is also correct. So if you want to use it as a handyman it is excellent. If you use it mainly because you need the 1.7 then better other goals.
sent on 06 Ottobre 2021 Pros: Very light and space-saving. Definite. Bright. Price of new and used very affordable Cons: A little cumbersome autofocus. Opinion: Bought for 139 euros used. I was very skeptical, but I wanted an undemanding and expensive lens for daily dog outings. Something that put on the GX80 or E-PM2 did not protrude too much and comfortably fit in the pocket of a jacket. I love slightly wider focal lengths, but it fits great. It returns well-balanced images both in contrast definition and colors. It was immediately feeling. I will also try it on more serious bodies to squeeze it a little more and see all the character. I don't take dynamic photos so I can't say how it works in those contexts.
sent on 04 Giugno 2020 Pros: Sharpness, Brightness, Compact and Light, Price contained in proportion to yield Cons: Occasionally non-instant autofocus when mounted on Olympus m4/3 Opinion: A lens I highly recommend to buy, I manage to separate myself despite having bought the excellent M.Zuiko 12-40 2.8 pro. It allows you to make very nice shots even if mounted - as I do - on an Olympus m4/3. Not taking up virtually space and weighing very little is ideal for street photographs and with such a bright opening allows you to shoot even in low light conditions. It makes very well in portraits and offers a good bokeh effect
sent on 27 Maggio 2020 Pros: light, precise, with a very affordable price. Perfect for videos too Cons: Nobody Opinion: we chose this lens to mount on the Panasonic g-80 to make videos of ceremonies. turned out to be a good choice. Precise even with the manual focus, light, bright, this lens goes really well with the machine, which is balanced very well. Also great for shooting indoors when the light is poor and you need to open the diaphragm.

sent on 27 Maggio 2020 Pros: Very compact and light, crisp, great value for money Cons: I didn't find any Opinion: This type of micro 4/3 lenses is ideal for Panasonic GX and GF series cameras that poorly withstand larger lenses that are a bit disproportionate to the size of the room. Great for street and landscapes, it's also good for portraits. Now it's constantly on my GX 80. For me it's a return to the beginning of my only fixed-only photography activity
sent on 24 Settembre 2019 Pros: Sharpness, compactness, featherweight, price value Cons: On bodies Olympus slowma MAF; dynamic AF (AFC-AFF) do not work Opinion: Do you want quality and lightness in a fixed (almost) all-rounder? This is the lens for you. Featherweight (less than one hectare), ridiculous footprint (less than three cm thick) in exchange for great sharpness and image quality. Let's add excellent value for money: an optic, therefore, in full spirit m4/3. Flaws: Dynamic Afis are not enabled; on Olympus bodies in certain situations the AF is a bit slow. No problem, as far as I could see, on the Panasonic bodies. Optical that I recommend to try: it will surprise you.
sent on 24 Marzo 2019 Pros: Crisp, compact, very light, very good value for money Cons: On Panasonic GX80 do not work AFF and AFC, suffering from "rattlesnake" Opinion: Objective purchased to have a greater brightness than the lens in kit, maintaining an extreme compactness. It showed remarkable sharpness qualities as well as being very small and very light (less than 100 g). I used it on Panasonic GX80, and I write this review especially to warn that with this body only the AFS mode works, and the AFF and AFC modes are deactivated. Another characteristic is the effect "rattlesnake" or the ticking that is sometimes felt during the changes of brightness, noise annoying but that does not affect the quality of the optics. In relation to the price it proves to be an excellent lens for those who want a bright lens, very sharp and with minimum dimensions.
sent on 08 Gennaio 2018 Pros: Compact, clear, light, construction Cons: AF especially in low light and noisy Opinion: I had this lens for a few months and, provided that I have not found the focal point, I must say that if you want a compact quality in the world m4 / 3 you can not make better choice. Really tiny and very light perfect in combination with a small body (Pen, pana gx80 etc ...). I also tried it on the EM1 and it ends up flush with the handle. Excellent construction, only the MF ring did not shine. Optical output as opposed to the other much more surgical panasonic. Sharp already at TA. AF beyond that it is not very fast, but on this focal length it does not count much, it is a bit noisy because the front element when focheggia makes forward / backward. Diaframmato goes even better reaching the maximum around F4 and closing a little more (careful not to go into diffraction) you get beautiful starry light points. Overall a good optics that I recommend in combination with small bodies to have a compact of all respect.
sent on 17 Aprile 2017 Pros: sharpness, lightness, blurred, price Cons: of body Olympus, autofocus not excelled and slowness of the slats in closing the diaphragm over f4 Opinion: 26 # 39; action, this lens will give you great satisfaction. If you believe those who say that it's a great all do ... ... you will be disappointed because, as my grandmother "who can do anything, can not do anything."
sent on 19 Gennaio 2017 Pros: Objective fast. Great sharpness at all apertures. Good construction. Price. Cons: It 'a great pelino in diameter mounted on Olympus Pen bodies, but to find fault at all costs. Opinion: In my day, the variable focal length lenses were attempts teconologici pathetic, so I learned to use and love fixed because even at my age move back and forth is good for health. I bought this to replace and / or complement the Olympus 17mm f / 2.8 pancake which is fast but not too much and is crisp but not too much. The Panasonic has a little longer as a focal but it's really fast and sharp as a razor. In my frequent rounds for the world's cities it is truly irreplaceable and for owners of any micro 4/3 is a straconsigliato purchase. Bought at € 257.60 at the beginning of 2017.
sent on 25 Marzo 2016 Pros: Compactness, quality price! Cons: AF Nos lightning speciamente you Oly bodies Opinion: Bought very recently on the recommendation of an enthusiastic friend of optical qs, I'm very happy! A must in the world M4 / 3 .... tiny, bright, cheap, and crystal clear already at room temperature (say the old man is sharper ... qs it is safe), all the features that an optical M4 / 3 should have! I took it instead of PanaLeica, too big and a little too long for generic use! For now it can only cosigliarlo ... even the focal length is great for people like me nn loves very wide angles (already with 28 of FF I am wrong) could be the panacea for all ills ... Updates will follow .. .
