sent on 21 Settembre 2025 Pros: A DSLR in a compact body Cons: Perhaps, if we want to be picky, the lens could have started at least from 24mm instead of 28mm Opinion: I have owned it for a short time and I am appreciating it more and more every day, found at 200 €, performing, handy, light but solid, perhaps it would have needed a more extreme wide angle, perhaps a 24mm, but you absolutely do not notice that it is a camera released in 2015 and the 12mpx are not a limit. I completed it with the Olympus CLA-13 device, adding a UV filter and a lens hood with cap, if a person doesn't look at it closely it looks like an OM-D E-M10 with telephoto lens.
sent on 25 Agosto 2025 Pros: Small but with a bazooka for a lens. Versatile. Very good JPEG in the room. ND filters. Excellent stability. Sharpness at 300 mm equivalent Cons: A wheel is missing. Opinion: A masterpiece still more than a dozen years later. The machine is intuitive, always ready, always available. I put it in a bag with a couple of batteries (the same as the M10 series) and at any time it is there and we all know that the best car is the one you always have with you. I even went to 2500 ISO without any problem. Today, thanks to DxO, shooting even at 1600 ISO is not a gamble, you recover a lot of detail despite the very effective noise reduction. There are many shots in my galleries with this prodigy. I am absolutely convinced that if Olympus were to remake this camera by tropicalizing it and adding a lot of computational intelligence it would sell it by the truckload. The strength of this camera is the zoom, sharp and very well stabilized. I also have the RX100VII I reviewed that is superior to it in some respects, but I get out more easily with the Olympus because it has a better grip and a longer zoom. And after all, especially during the day, it doesn't make you regret the Sony sensor which is larger. If you find it between 100 and 200 euros DO NOT miss it
sent on 07 Luglio 2025 Pros: Portability, jpg colors, controls, evf viewfinder, stabilization, zoom Cons: noise above ISO 800 (normal given the sensor size) Opinion: This is the first camera with which I approached photography and I would recommend it to those who are beginners. With about 200 euros you can take home an object that, despite the years, churns out jpgs of excellent quality (12 mpx are more than enough if it is not required to make large prints) with very pleasant colors. The controls are well positioned and make the photographic gesture fluid, enticing you to learn the approach to the manual (too bad for the lack of a ring dedicated to ISO). But the real advantages for me are the optical zoom (300 mm eq.!), the stabilization (freehand you get good results even at 1/50) and the portability of the camera which, given the small size, make you want to always carry it with you. Given the size of the sensor, in low light situations it becomes more complex to shoot with pleasure, but if you are looking for a camera to take on the road to photograph mainly landscapes or for street photography, the stylus1 is an excellent choice.
sent on 02 Luglio 2024 Pros: Layout of controls and dimensions and super viewfinder Cons: That the optics start from the 28th and not from the 24th Opinion: I have used dozens of SLRs and bridge and compact cameras and some give more pleasure than others in use and this Olympus is one of "those". It churns out photos that easily compete with higher sensors in terms of size, just don't go too high in iso. Spectacular optics with constant aperture, and it is truly portable (flat with closed optics), excursion that allows you to take all kinds of photos and of course also macros. In my opinion, Sony rx100 type compact cameras don't make sense since the new phones, which we always have with us, churn out excellent photos. The bridge allows you a different approach to the photo, more thoughtful and have usable controls.
sent on 26 Gennaio 2024 Pros: Compact, not so small that it can fit in a jeans pocket, but in a jacket pocket; very complete and equipped with a 28-300 f2.8 zoom; Typical Olympus functionality management, i.e. very complete perhaps too much, and a level of performance much higher than what the sensor measurement would lead you to believe (if you develop the raw correctly, otherwise it is still good). Cons: The passing of time, the habit of a long series of features that someone may not be able to give up and, in short, everything that is not there; For my part, only the wide-angle lens is no wider than the 28mm EQ. Opinion: I've had the Stylus 1 for a few years and I've casually used it alternating it with other machines without expecting who knows what, after all the sensor is what it is, the seniority of the project as well, etcetera etcetera, yes, complete, all in all compact, a nice zoom, but the technical limits are there... I was delighted with the results, but not surprised. For some time now, however, thanks to the adoption of DXO PureRaw in the development of raws, I have completely re-evaluated this camera (perhaps it means that my way of developing them before is not that great): shots at 1600 iso are not at all "at the limit", the level of detail of the photos is surprising (who said that with 12 megpixel you can't photograph?), the performance of the lens, in terms of vignetting and CA, is absolutely decent and, in short, the Stylus has earned a more important and less snubbed place in my bag in the field. Let's be clear: what isn't there isn't, so 1) the M43 sensor is better (the 1" one not so much), 2) a good fixed lens will always have better performance, 3) the AF is fast but not lightning fast and 3) if you need to make 4k movies it doesn't do them. Point. Everything else can be carried with you in the pocket of a jacket, sorry if it's little. In retrospect and after use in various situations I must say that I felt a bit the lack of a wide angle of at least 24mm eq., but never mind. Add to that the fact that it uses the same battery as many other M43 bodies, the BLS-5, which I find really comforting. In short, much better to have it than not to have it.
sent on 01 Luglio 2021 Pros: Compactness, excellent 28 300 lens, construction, viewfinder, battery life, price in the used, excellent ergonomics and control layout, excellent jpeg, touch screen, integrated wifi Cons: production output is only used Opinion: Fabulous compact to always have behind or for light and carefree holidays. Its focal excursion 28 300 allows you to do a little everything, the lens is excellent at all focal points and is 2.8 fixed, the blurry is very pleasant and the yield in relation to the small sensor is very good and with modern demosaicization software you can safely push to 1600 iso. It's basically a small omd as an operation. After trying several compact (even with larger sensor) I decided for her.
sent on 22 Maggio 2018 Pros: Trasportabilissima, zoom 28-300/2.8 over the entire focal range, EVF, optimum stabilizer Cons: Noise above the ISO 1600, limited field depth because of the sensor size (from 150 to 300mm the out of the planes however is fantastic and the bokeh is not nervous but agreeable). Very standard video compartment (more than enough). Opinion: So... let's start by saying that you don't have to compare it to ff... There's no history. But there is not even the FF when you annoy bring you 2kg of body and optics... instead the stylus 1 is there. Always (if you want). Anecdote: I learned to love it when on holiday with the family I brought the kit FF... (D750 and a pair of optics in the backpack plus a flash etc...) ... and I finally left it at the hotel. Bringing behind only the stylus 1. When I returned from the holiday I looked at the photos... what a spectacle! The yield is really stratospheric up to 400 ISO. To understand: What are you doing with your shots? If croppate to 100% or printed on paper A0... well... The 12Mpixel and the ISO you hear them. otherwise...... only Pippe mental. Also usable at ISO 2000 if printed on 13x18 or even on A4... with films it was difficult to have less grain at 2000 ISO. And the 12Mpxel are absolutely sufficient for everyone. Optics: Truly superb. Stabilization is perfect. The yield is fantastic on the whole range. Even at TA. I used it to do portraits and to do macros. Wonderful. In essence: Bought in 2015... I keep it and keep it jealously. Even if I changed many bodies: from M4/3 to FF passing through various APSC. Because Olympus does not make a new version: I think because it would be a problem for the market of Micro4/3... It was riusicita too good. And with a body/optics from the weight and footprint of a toy there was everything you need. A problem for the M4/3 low budget market... What about: Promoted with 10-(the least just to say that the video compartment is a bit under the photo compartment)
sent on 07 Gennaio 2018 Pros: Body almost of an OMD, amazing optics, formidable jpg, lightness, light meter on point af, integrated ND filter! Cons: The size of the sensor, as obvious, invalidates the yield at high ISO, the zoom starts from 28 and not 24, only electric zoom, integrated flash little powerful ... Opinion: What a compact, guys! For a year and a half I live happily with a micro 4/3 outfit that gives me a lot of satisfaction, in which one of the highlights is the photographic performance of the Olympus machines, whether they are the Pen series or OMD. I found myself with (almost) all the pros of mirrorless Olympus in this amazing compact, which made me fall in love ... the photographic performance (the jpg that returns within 400 iso are incredible), the integrated ND filter (associated with a of the numerous function keys) that allows you to shoot at full aperture even in full daylight, beautiful and resolute EVF, tiltable touch display, but above all its optics! A 28-300 equivalent f / 2.8 fixed and stabilized by the scary yield already at TA ... in a very light and small (but not tiny) body, there is practically an entire kit. The yield in good light is PAZZESCA and if you do not chase the pdc reduced to the hair, here is this Stylus 1 becomes the all-rounder perfect for trips, outings disengaged or in the family or otherwise to keep in any case ... the jpg are so ready (and configurableup to excess, between adjustments and filters art) that you can share them in real time or send them to the press via wi fi. The flaws I listed are never a real problem, except for the medium-high ISO yield: for charity, for the size of the sensor is obvious, only if you are familiar with the Olympus, it is natural to uzare this stylus exactly as an omd! Often, in fact, I forgot that it was not mine. Old em5 and I exaggerated with sensitivity that do not compete with this small sensor ... but if you do not ask the impossible, this little girl always manages to surprise and to satisfy the user, with which he manages to create a unique feeling! Operatively, due to the versatility and the quality of the optics, it does not regret richer kits! It would be great if Olympus decided to take out an updated version with a nice 1 "sensor ....
sent on 25 Novembre 2015 Pros: Optical quality, EVF superlative wide configurability 'and excellent quality construction Cons: Video industry may not fully optimized; LCD screen (which is superb) only hinged but not completely "tiltable" Opinion: A pleasant discovery this Stylus 1; I was in Japan and was looking for a Nikon P7800 Powershot used; I found this fantastic compact that I was literally conquered in a few moments by testing it in the store. Having said that, purchased at a really great price, I started using it and I made a hundred shots ... not enough to know and appreciate fully the potential 'but enough to evaluate it without doubt a cut above the G-series and Canon the same Powershot P7800, in all respects, except perhaps those related to the sector for which the Nikon Video 'more equipped and sophisticated. rnHo just started to try the Stylus 1 in relation to the Panasonic Lumix G3 (with obb kit 14-42mm) and I must say that regardless of the size of the sensor and everything that goes with it there 'even comparison; the Stylus 1 wins hands down in terms of EVF, LCD, optical quality 'constructive. Yield color and quality 'of the shots in low light.
sent on 24 Novembre 2014 Pros: Objective spectacular and bright, excellent sensor & electronic viewfinder, considering the size, featuring a practical Cons: Small keys, whether made Tropicalised would be the maximum Opinion: It replaced the very excellent Nikon Coolpix 7100 as a travel companion, I have not much to add to previous comments that illustrate very well this "big small". You can carry it anywhere, will reward you with great shots from landscape to portrait The council also to those who approach the hobby of photography and still does not know which way to take ... In 400g is all it takes to give vent to their creativity.
sent on 23 Agosto 2014 Pros: Compact, light, lens 28-300mm stabilizzata.rnMirino electronic superb; front ring to control aperture / time; pulley for compensation esposizione.rnBuona the App for smart-phone (wi-fi) is useful for remote shutter to download the picture. Cons: Lack of GPS, you can tag pictures in-camera (you can only protect from accidental deletion) .rnPotevano do a better timer, the max you can do 10 consecutive shots at intervals of just 0.5sec, 1-2-3 sec! A little bit ... Opinion: I was really surprised by this compact, perhaps because they were years since I felt one in this class! RNLA picture quality is good, not great, since the sensor is quite piccolo.rnQuello is surprising, however, is the electronic viewfinder really defined , bright, fast and accurate, with excellent resolution. I never thought of being able to try a 'experience so similar to the reflex! RnSecondo me the images are usable up to ISO 1600-2000 although the loss of quality is quite visibile.rnLa 28-300mm lens has an image stabilizer very efficient and zooming is fast and responsive, as well as the development fuoco.rnIl built-in flash is useful, though not potentissimo.rnQuesta camera is for me the ideal second body, perfect for traveling and taking photographs for the series using all the controls manuals!
sent on 21 Luglio 2014 Pros: Compact, 28-300 zoom, a lot of possibility 'of personalization, electronic viewfinder valuable, stabilizer impressive. Cons: Sensor size, noise above 1000 iso, battery life. Opinion: I took this Olympus Stylus 1 a few days ago, I got it for the simple reason that encompasses many of the features that a compact should have, the dimensions are not micro - compact, but for me this is' an advantage in the sense that in any case gives you the feeling you are holding an object of a certain size, finishes and materials are very good, the viewfinder and 'exceptional and yield 100% great advantages, zoom and' fast and can 'be controlled both left or to the right dell'obiettivo.rnLa 1 stylus can 'be customized in all its functions, I downloaded already' some images to video views are, however, understand the potential 'of this prodotto.rnPPer as concern for the defects first thing I sensor would have liked a slightly more 'great, but I think it is already' a kind of small miracle to be able to put in a camera body so small all the features of this little Olympus, another defect noise you've 'heard by 640 iso , but I think with a little pp can improve a lot the results, the battery is not dutherefore very ra 'recommend buying one of scorta.rnNei coming days postero' few clicks to confront in the quality 'of essi.rnrnIntervengo to insert a new account after doing more tests' series with the Stylus1, I am really satisfied with this compattona I did a test comparing the Olympus stylus1 with canon 100d (aps-c) and 70-200 2.8 is II, practically David against Goliath, however, to just below 1600 iso the two machines and the two lenses can be compare, this does not mean that they are similar, but that you can make a paragone.rnHo then made a pass at the Olympus LR file and in any case at the level of noise you retrieve molto.rnPoco I wrote above that the noise began to feel toward the 640 iso, this is true but comparing it to a file of the 5D3 result is merciless, but comparing it to 800iso with the file of the 100d I can safely say that there is no 'distance in kilometers ....
sent on 30 Maggio 2014 Pros: Weight, dimensions, features, and image quality. And right price. Cons: It is impossible (or at least very laborious) the use of a polarizing filter. Video segment improved. Opinion: I'm really happy with this purchase. I can carry with me always; For example, in the mountains I do not always carry around the camera for reasons of weight. Or in motion, for reasons of space. Some little difficulty for those with large hands, but it is not a fault of the camera. I would Avvito a Mini Gorillapod to handle it better. Highly recommended.
sent on 22 Maggio 2014 Pros: Compact size in relation to the sensor optics and light. Optics with 2.8 constant aperture. Complete with dials and customizable buttons. Viewfinder fabulous and complete the info. Update May 2015: with the new firmware do the time lapse with all the parameters to be set and mounts them in the car automatically. Cons: Some keys are small (for people like me who have big hands). Tilting LCD only and not articulated. Opinion: For a couple of months I bought this camera and I love it! I find it great for all those times you do not want to bring the SLR. The lens then has a rage of focal really remarkable for its size, with a 28-300 f 2.8 will cover many situations. It 'very reactive, never missing a beat, comes on quickly and goes off immediately. The viewfinder is exceptional as resolution and makes it perfectly the reality, hardly seems a digital viewfinder! It has complete control over the wi-fi and its app for cellulari.rnLascio last photo quality but I guarantee that it is at very high levels for a compact. I have no other experience compact quality, but I truly believe that we are here to levels of top of the range. Update: new firmware and new features that make using the machine really intuitive. Time lapse function really comprehensive and highly customizable.
