sent on 06 Aprile 2026 Pros: Dimensions+weight of the basic project. Improvements in Image Quality thanks to the new tilt monitor sensor and recovery. Overall (silver version) beautiful. Cons: Raw Processing function downgraded to compact mode; simplification of the menu, which is excessive for me; simplified stabilization (ON - OFF) which does not make it clear what the behavior is with stabilized lenses. Opinion: I have had and have numerous Olympus/OM System camera bodies, but I felt the need for an e-m10 body for its combination of functional completeness, lightness and small footprint; the mark IV responds to these needs to the highest degree with an even improved stabilization, a 20 mpx sensor that compared to the previous 16 mpx has not only improved the resolution (little stuff, in itself), but above all the resistance to high ISO and a bit of all the other parameters. It has a tilting monitor, which for me, doing only photography, is a huge advantage over the articulated one; The grip has significantly improved having accentuated both the front and rear grip. There are some "cons" in my opinion. One, for me who always shoots in raw and sometimes I do development tests in the camera, is that in this camera they have modified the RAW Processing function making it the same as that of the compacts, which represents a big step backwards from many points of view. Another defect is the simplification of the Stabilization, reduced to On or Off; in this way you no longer know how to behave (and how the camera will behave) with stabilized lenses, unlike, say, the e-m10 mark II which for me remains the most mature fruit of the e-m10 project. For everything else it is a very complete and effective camera; certainly the superior models will have something more in terms of functionality, but what is called IQ (Image Quality) is certainly very high. Finally, it must be said that it is a really beautiful and practical camera, if you don't need heavy lenses you carry it around with extreme ease.
sent on 05 Agosto 2025 Pros: Lightweight, small, high quality... Extremely fascinating Cons: For what it offers I found no defects, except for the lack of the USB-C port (but it is a non-defect) Opinion: Bought used (but practically new) in kit with its 14-42 pancake in view of the trip I made to the Netherlands a few weeks ago. I have had several DSLR and Mirrorless kits, but the desire to travel light and enjoy the holiday pushed me to buy. Well... never was the choice more apt. Combined with the Leica 9-18 f/2.8 and the Leica 15 f/1.7, it is (for my way of photographing and documenting while traveling), the ideal equipment. In a handbag you carry everything you need to do everything and your back is thankful not a little. I took a couple of spare batteries, but with two I took a whole day of photographs. The lens park of the M43 system is vast and there are excellent opportunities for any focal length. The quality, always taking into account that we are talking about an M43, is remarkable and its 20mpx are more than enough to obtain excellent quality prints. Not to mention the jpeg of Olympus... Simply perfect and ready to print. And then it's damn beautiful... they stopped me on the street to see it!
sent on 08 Luglio 2025 Pros: Small, complete, compact and lightweight Cons: Autofocus Opinion: I've had so many cameras, fullframe of all brands, Fuji, etc... but this is the one that has for me the unbeatable value for money. Park Infinite lenses, difficult to catch painful 4/3 lenses. Very stabilized, raw workable (certainly with the limits of the sensor) and so many computational functions that you forget about other brands at these prices. Nera is beautiful. Highly recommended for landscapes, street and reportage. It is not tropicalized and is not made of magnesium. And what other machines at this price are?
sent on 18 Giugno 2025 Pros: Ergonomics, overall quality, lens availability Cons: USB-C port is missing Opinion: It's my first mirrorless after two Canon reflex cameras, I chose the M43 for the compactness and the (relative) cheapness of the lenses. It took me a while to adapt (especially to the electronic viewfinder) but now I can say that I am happy with the choice. I really like using it, it has all the functions I need at my fingertips, all the levers are comfortable and I find the flip-up screen very useful (much better than the Canon one that opened horizontally). The stabilizer in the bodysuit works great, the image quality for me is perfect, I especially love the colors. It is an entry level and there is certainly better, but as far as I am concerned the margins for improvement at this point are not in the kit, but in the neck :)
sent on 03 Aprile 2025 Pros: Lightness, portability, image quality, availability used! Cons: Doesn't have microphone input slot, USB not Type-C Opinion: I didn't expect so much technology and quality from an entry level machine and the Micro Four Thirds sebsor. I was amazed, like others, by the resistance to ISO even in low light conditions, then nowadays with the denoise SW, you can get photographs worthy of an APS-C reflex of not even too many years ago. (reference to my obsolete Nikon D60) Obviously the difference with a Full Frame is perceived, but the portability allows it to be used in everyday situations, without feeling the lack of the Full Frame, except for specific shots such as multi exposures at night, which in any case do not go badly at all. Unfortunately the lack of the slot for microphone input is a real flaw as well as the lack of usb-C, which forces you to buy adapters for downloading photographs on laptops with usb-c ports I have not yet exploited it 100% but overall I would say that as a Mirrorless machine for everyday life it is really a great purchase, And for this last point, the availability of used is really high, so you can buy it for very little change already including some lenses.
sent on 03 Aprile 2025 Pros: Light, beautiful, image quality, excellent size and not bad stabilizer Cons: I didn't find any Opinion: I come from a Nikon Z6 III inevitably we are on two completely different worlds, but I must say that the Olympus OM-D E-M10 IV really surprised me. Despite a small sensor, the noise management is really good. At 1600 ISO practically non-existent. Really a great machine for its price range. I take it everywhere and the result is excellent.
sent on 23 Marzo 2025 Pros: All Cons: Nobody Opinion: Maximum flexibility extremely satisfied Exaggerated the panorama function really goodAutofocus and functions of higher level cameras Improved grip And go around with 4 lenses without feeling the weight of the equipment is priceless Quality without discussion HDR automatic from top If you want the only flaw is not to have jack x microphone but personally I don't use movies
sent on 29 Marzo 2024 Pros: Very nice, image quality, compact size, interesting features, scary stabilization Cons: High price (on new kit) Battery Some finishing Opinion: I've had it for 1 year and I can only express a positive opinion. Mine is black and it's really beautiful. In my opinion: Good viewfinder, good display can also be swivelled downwards. Single autofocus is great, continuous... It's not the best. Scary stabilization: with the 20mm that is not stabilized (and I seem to have understood that it does not accept from the double stabilization) I took 2 second handheld photos. Very compact, it is everywhere and this is its strength. Not a very complete menu in my opinion and the customization is inferior to that of Panasonic for example. Battery and so-so card compartment and miserable charging flap. However, it returns excellent image quality and noise is reduced up to ISO 1600. Great JPEG, workable Raw Live Comp etc really very useful. 799€ for the.kit (col 14-42) seems quite good to me
sent on 21 Gennaio 2024 Pros: Aesthetically beautiful, economical, very light, 20 mpx sensor suitable for any situation, excellent stabilization, built-in flash, with many PRO functions that other brands do not even have on flagships Cons: For its price category, none Opinion: I state that I have all the M10s from the mk 1 to this mk IV. I also own, or have owned, almost everything Olympus, from the 3 mpx camedia to the various Tough to the M5 M1 and OM1, I know the brand deeply and I feel great about it, even if I own reflex and mirrorless bodies of almost all brands. But let's come to this fourth version of the M10. The first thing I would like to say is that it is aesthetically so beautiful that I decided to sell the PenF (now that the M10 also has a 20 mpx sensor ... I decided to take the step even with a bit of melancholy). I've been using it all week with its Pancake lens and I have to say that it's an absolutely perfect match. I put it to the test with difficult shots for an entry level M43 (total backlight with sun in the frame, or in very low light contexts) and the result has always convinced me. The lens has very small blue ghosts when the sun is inside the frame, but I find it normal. The files that this sensor produces are, for me, excellent and workable with LR. If you really want to give a denoise pass ok, but only when you really need it (like at 6400 iso). The machine is mainly aimed at those who want to go out lightly and carefree. EXCELLENT automatically for the beginner or the advanced user who knows what in optimal light conditions does not want to break the boxes with various corrections, especially with the 14 42 lens which on the M43 is not that allows who knows what vicissitudes. PDC is what it is, so.... However, I must say that in addition to the usual PASM Scene Art selectors, this M10 has a section called AP within which you can find Pro functions such as Focus Bracketing, Keystone correction, exposure bracketing, panorama, double HDR exposure, and the Olympus Live Time functions and the beautiful Live Comp Machine therefore very suitable for both beginners and advanced amateurs. It made me fall in love :)
sent on 20 Agosto 2022 Pros: MFT sensor of the latest generation, great image quality, excellent stabilization, great variety of settings and customizations, silent shutter, built-in flash, olympus aesthetics, lightness, exceptional quality / price ratio. Cons: Not tropicalized (but there are other models for this). Opinion: Photographer since 1974, I had a Zenit-B weighed 1 Kg. but it was a giant with feet of clay. This E-M10 IV is a feather (power of polycarbonate) but lightness is not synonymous with fragility. I made comparisons with photos taken with the Sony A7 II with 28-70 and this E-M10 IV with 12-32 Panasonic. Without going into detail: he wins the E-M10 with 12-32 on all fronts. I'm not interested in photographing at more than 1600 ISO nor am I interested in the infamous Bokeh. I am seriously considering abandoning the FF.
sent on 19 Agosto 2022 Pros: Lightness, responsiveness, customization, cost Cons: Battery/sd flap uncomfortable Opinion: I state that this review comes only after two weeks of use, but after having used Nikon for years, and now having a Z6 II that I got tired of carrying with me in every situation, I wanted to try Olympus to flank my "flagship" and to use in trips out of town. I must say that I found only positive sides, reactive, a good sensor, lots of technology, fast autofocus, excellent face recognition (even compared to my Z6 II), light and bright optics (I have flanked it with a 17mm f1.8). Another thing I liked is the presence of the flash that, if used sparingly... it is not as destructive as it is always depicted; after all it is possible to use it manually, and to lighten some shadows it can be convenient. Then if you really don't like it just don't use it, but at least you can select it! As for the menu at the moment I do not feel like reviewing it since I have been used to Nikon for years and now I have entered into that logic. For the moment it seems less immediate, but still there is a lot of stuff, and the possibility of customizing the buttons is a lot. The only thing that did not make me crazy from the first minute is the door of the battery compartment / sd that I find an uncomfortable and risicato hair, but we are really talking about "nothing". Excellent instead the choice not to have a charger in the box and if you want it you buy it ... how many mobile phone chargers do we have at home and that we do nothing about it? I imagine that for those who have already had other Olympus or from an ecological point of view this is the best solution. As for me, not having other Olympus I had to buy one, so consider that if you want it original it takes about 60 euros, otherwise with 20 euros you buy it of other brands. Alternatively you can obviously charge it with the USB that comes in the box.
sent on 25 Giugno 2021 Pros: Image quality, endless menu, instinctive adjustments, excellent finishes (except for one detail), stabilization at the top. Cons: Menu with a difficult-to-understand logic (a characteristic typical of Olympus); cover cover usb sockets really miserable. Opinion: Although the body is not metallic (I have the black version) in holding it you do not have the impression of a cheap camera at all, in fact you appreciate the feather weight and grip despite the small size. I was curious to see the upgrade compared to the previous 16mp sensor and contrary to what I read in the various reviews the difference is seen in all fields; since I have practically all the fixed m4/3 optics (not even a zoom) I realized that the limits, however high, that I detected in the previous configuration were due to the sensor and not to the optics. Even the 20mm pancake that is a bit of a handyman had an appreciable increase in resolution, with the same subject photographed. Like everyone else, I have my own points of reference. Normal lighting autofocus is fast, but not so slow in harsh conditions; funny the pursuit of the face, which I will not use. The controls are immediate and comfortable, but for Olympus it is nothing new. Until now I have not found that good, high wonders for the miserable gummy door (with only one hinged side, so opening it dangling like it was detaching, and I fear that after a little opening and closing it will detach) that covers the USB type sockets one of which must be used to charge the battery on board, but which I will never use having the original charger of the previous series. Really an inexplicable little mole in front of the other excellent finishes. Would I buy it back? Of course, especially since I bought a plaster from a genius who took the body+zoom bundle in kits and resold the body: how to buy a car to keep the tires. But as long as there are people like that, I live happy.
