Pros: colors, tonal transitions

Cons: 50

Opinion: I mount the fifty when my masochism skyrockets, but, and I say but, this 25 makes up for it for its rendering and its colors, light sharp enough, well corrected and last but not least it manages stray lights well... The complexion is a little saturated, the contrast is correct, in post clearly then everything is adjusted. Vote 9

Pros: Sharpness even at full aperture, lightness, size, autofocus speed, minimum focusing distance.

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I was a bit skeptical before the purchase, but I must confess that I had to change my mind. Really beautiful optics. I was particularly impressed by the sharpness and fidelity of the colors. Suitable for many genres of photography; from the street to the landscape, from the macro to the night photography as well as the portrait. Considering the really negligible weight and the minimum bulk, it is certainly a lens to keep always available in the backpack. The autofocus is really fast and accurate.

Pros: Compact size and feather weight; high resolution but above all homogeneous over the entire area even at TA; satisfactory continuous autofocus

Cons: In the version with hood the decorative ring is purchased separately at a very high price.

Opinion: I already had the Panaleica 25 1.4 but it must be used with care because it has a very high resolution in the center but quite degraded on the peripheral areas and you have to close at least two stops resetting the advantage of brightness; moreover, I have always found it a bit too bulky and heavy for the type of machine to which it is intended. I therefore turned to this Olympus 25 1.8 in which I found all the qualities of the Oly lenses at a more than human price. Absolutely space-saving and not heavy thanks to the polycarbonate construction that is far from cheap when used. I make few films but I was surprised by the relative fluency of operation of continuous AF, a rare commodity in this sector. As for the blurry I do not know what to say since when I need it I use the 45 which is perfect. Lens I would say mandatory.

Pros: Light, small, cheap (if imported)

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Great lens, light, sharp, small. I've always wondered what it's like to have FF and heavy optics if you then have to drag them behind all day in the mountains or for a trip. I with a GX9 and the pair 25 1.8 plus 45 1.8 I go everywhere. Although it is a mixed olympher-Panasonic pairing the focus is very fast. It is rare that you miss the focus (use focus on 1 area only). Goal to have.

Pros: Color quality, sharpness also at TA,lightness .

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: This fixed lens that I decided to buy (equivalent to a 50 FF) I loved for the size, sharpness and natural colors . It is suitable for videos given the quietness and SPEED AF. I advise not to close the diaphragm over 11 to have no diffraction problems. Even at TA however there is little blurry (we are on m4/3 ) normal.

Pros: Size, speed and precision AF, sharpness already at 1.8, pleasant bokeh

Cons: Plastic but solid construction

Opinion: Taken because I wanted a normal without having the weight and footprint of the 1.2 PRO, I found myself on my hands a little jewel. Had previously the panaleic 1.4, bhe..... I must say I prefer this! Panaleica has a better bokeh hair but to be acceptable you had to close it to f1. 8 so we're there.... the zuiko is already excellent at TA, faster and more precise as AF, sometimes the panaleic ciccava fire (on olympus bodies). Less aberrations at TA, the Pana instead up to f2.8 suffered heavily (always on oly bodies). Bokeh very pleasant within the limits of the format. It makes good on both near and far subjects. Closed by a stop becomes a blade all over the frame. For me best buy, I didn't expect it.

Pros: Sharpness, colour rendition, micro-contrast

Cons: Chromatic aberration, price of the new

Opinion: I have this lens for a few months, purchased used to replace the Sigma 19 because the latter has never convinced me completely. The Zuiko 25 1.8 instead I find it an excellent lens in terms of optical quality, with a very accurate color rendition, excellent contrast and micro-contrast and a very high sharpness from opening up to F8 both in the center and at the edges. In my opinion is usable to maximum up to F11 then the image quality begins to degrade due to diffraction. Also the AF is very fast and quiet. The build quality is good even if the barrel is made of plastic material (polycarbonate) and is equipped with a series of lens hoods always made of plastic. The most obvious defect I have found is a chromatic aberration at the edges in high contrast situations (e.g. branches of trees against the clear sky), however correctable in PP. Ultimately, at the price of the new that I find a little high, I think that for those who appreciate the standard focal the Zuiko 25 1.8 is a high quality optics that deserves to be taken into account.

Pros: Sharpness, image quality, portability, fast AF, lens hood included.

Cons: Build quality (many plastics).

Opinion: I bought this lens because the format m4 / 3 is equivalent to about 50mm, and I was looking for a good quality fixed. I'm satisfied. Vivid images, excellent contrast, focus speed and lightness are its trump cards. The advantage of 'minimum aperture (1.8) allows good results even with little luce.Un Another advantage, according to me is the price is not excessive compared to the competition (the other 25mm I had considered was the Pana - Leica 1.4). Minus points, in my opinion, the build quality, not just sublime.

Pros: Image quality (sharpness, micro-contrast, color rendition even at TA), bokeh, light weight, AF speed, portability, lens hood (!)

Cons: Slight chromatic aberration in high-contrast areas and sides of the frame at RT.

Opinion: Another horse battle system m4 / 3. It is a lens that is difficult to find fault: the only one, I say it now, it's a slight chromatic aberration that is often present in areas of maximum contrast at the edges of the frame. Just to be clear: the aberration is less than the amount PanaLeica 25 1.4, another lens system reference, which I will try to make a short raffronto.rnRispetto PanaLeica 25 to 1.4, the Olympus is lighter (136 grams versus 200) and a little 'more compact (56x41 vs 63x54): obviously the PanaLeica has the advantage of opening a minimum (1.4 vs 1.8). The minimum distance of 24 cm MAF is OLYMPUS vs 30 cm of PanaLeica. The lens hood (supplied at last!) Is less prominent than the equivalent Panaleica.rnDal point of view of image quality, sharpness is practically a maximum already at room temperature and almost over the whole frame. Little vignetting. The color rendition and microcontrast are other strengths of the lens: saturated colors andnatural. The bokeh is very similar to that of PanaLeica, perhaps a little 'more decisive. rnL'AF is fast and preciso.rnSe then look for a handyman fixed quality, for outdoor and indoor, from portrait to landscape to portrait painting set, this is-along the 25-PanaLeica a great choice. rn
