sent on 25 Novembre 2024 Pros: Lightweight and remarkable focal range, useful for "monooptic" outings, without bags in tow. Cons: Not very sharp over 100 mm, usable, in my opinion, up to 120mm at most (maybe it depends on the sample in my possession, but from 120 upwards just so as not to miss the shot...) Opinion: Had on my OM5 II, discreet optics, practical and quite light. Wearing the camera around my neck the lens tends to stretch downwards, although perhaps a defect of my sample. Always perhaps linked to my specimen ... unusable over 100-120 mm, so I replaced it with the 12-100... There is no comparison (not even of price :-O )
sent on 25 Novembre 2024 Pros: Lightweight, Tropicalization, Solid construction, Excellent travel optics to always have in your bag especially with compact Olympus/OM System camera bodies of the 10 and 5 series. Cons: Focus ring without end stop. Opinion: Lens purchased as a kit in 2019 with OM-D E-M5 Mk2. It is gladly carried in every bag, the weight is really low and not tiring even for a whole day. The photographic quality, for me as an amateur photo who creates memories for personal/family use, is excellent. I don't make videos with the camera so I don't pronounce. In recent years I have not had any problems, the lens does not extend and always remains solidly in place despite the fact that there is no lock button, no dust has ever entered, no creaking or hesitation of the components. Olympus places it in the Premuim family of its lenses and it shows (I also have a Nikon 18-105mm lens for DX bought new and that one is built cheaply, you can understand it by touch and handling it). Since it is a travel superzoom that is always with me, it tends to accumulate, over time, dust in the attachment guides of the lens hood, everything is solved with a brush and a toothpick. At dusk, as is physiological for lightweight superzooms, it is better to use a tripod, an adequate shutter speed, remote shooting with the App or the self-timer. Or, for static subjects, you can leverage the excellent in-camera stabilization of the Olympus/OM-System bodies. If all this is boring, you mount a lens with an adequate aperture and speed. F4 at 14mm, F4.1 at 17mm, F4.3 at 20mm, F4.7 at 25mm, F5.4 at 42mm, F5.6 at 100 to 150mm. Highly recommended lens, vote 9!
sent on 06 Giugno 2023 Pros: Lightweight, economical, versatile Cons: I don't know at this price Opinion: An all-rounder not to be despised at all. I was amazed by the optical quality of such a small and lightweight lens. It has a remarkable travel equivalent to 28-300mm. I did an afternoon outing with the OM-D E-M10 IV and on a beautiful bright day I didn't miss anything. The portability of the kit sometimes becomes a primary need.
sent on 03 Aprile 2022 Pros: Extreme versatility, portability, weatherproof, fairly sharp, 28-300 equivalent focal range in which 80 percent of photographic situations fall, economical Cons: Not very bright after 70mm, at extreme focal lengths it tends to knead images with certain sensors Opinion: It is the main lens of my lightweight travel kit, together with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II and the M.Zuiko 9-18 f./4-5.6 Very compact, lightweight, tropicalized, adaptable a bit to all kinds of photography (I also do some macros), it is the ideal companion for those who often travel with the family and has no space for large kits and bright but heavy lenses, nor time to change goals often. Of course, if you are looking for absolute quality you have to turn to other lenses (such as the combined 12-40 f / 2.8 PRO and 40-150 f / 2.8 PRO) but with other weights and dimensions, in addition to the time and missed opportunities to change lenses continuously. In short, an excellent compromise price (in the used ridiculous), quality (for me good), performance (excellent). To be supplied with Olympus/OM Digital.
sent on 26 Luglio 2021 Pros: Flexibility, tropicalization, compactness and lightness. Fast and precise focus. Cons: Softness at all focal lengths, but especially after 60/75mm. Opinion: It is compact and light and is often located at just over € 300. Very convenient for travel, includes hood. It can be a great travel companion. Unfortunately the sharpness did not satisfy me, it is inferior to the Panasonic 12-60 (not Leica) and much (but much) lower than the Olympus 40.150rII, the cheap and plastic one. Clear that it is only one goal, so the race is unequal against two. But once you see what you do with cheap plastic is very difficult to accept the shots "smudge" of 14-150 II.
sent on 13 Giugno 2021 Pros: Comfortable, all-rounder, tropicalized Cons: If you assume that it is a Made in China kit quality, no one Opinion: I kept it mounted on an OM-D-EM1, which certainly could not express image quality, but the results were still more than enough. I got to try it on an OM-EM10 first series, and the quality was much better. Scuretto, but not so much to be an equivalent 28-300, also considering that it is coupled with an M4/3 sensor. Noisy, not even that much, but this is the era in which the human race has fixed itself that the if the grain is obtained with analog is beautiful and vintage, while if obtained with digital it is ugly and bad. In conclusion, it is a good compromise, with a dignified quality, good workmanship, which resists the weather well (better to lift the cap when it rains, otherwise it tarnishes), which is purchased at an affordable price, which allows good fun. If you are fixated with noise, extreme brightness and other photographic physios, it is good not to buy it, but if you want to have fun photographing, waiting for the pro series, and changing lenses is a problem, then it is the perfect goal.
sent on 12 Luglio 2018 Pros: Mythical all-make, weight, easy and intuitive Cons: Slow and noisy focus, not very bright (but you know by buying it) Opinion: I find it a great all-to-do, I use it for almost a year as the only oby on my Em10MK2, and allows you to range from wide enough wide to the landscape portrait, pity the low light that makes up so much the ISO losing definition. I am still satisfied with the purchase and at the limit in the future I will evaluate a pure wide angle (the 7-14 PRO type) But this I will keep because too comfortable... never change optics and you do well or apples all
sent on 17 Ottobre 2017 Pros: Practical, good quality up to 100mm, tropicalization, extremely low weight Cons: Poor brightness, lack of zoom block, slow autofocus, poor sharpness after 100mm and bad at 150mm. Opinion: I claim that I bought an Olympus E-M10 MarkII with the 14-150 to get rid of the heavy weight of the Canon 6D on my hiking trails from the neck, aware of the advantages and disadvantages of this machine and of this goal. Goal achieved?? I would say yes, the lens is light and in a long hike (7/8 hours) not particularly annoying, the quality found up to 100mm is more than acceptable and in good light conditions, as always happens in the outside, comes to have a very good quality and personally I was very pleased with it ... Then there are the limits that are not few, but I find them more than acceptable for the use I do. In low light conditions, even taking low ISOs, it knocks the image a bit, it suffers tremendously from the counter light, even if it behaves beniny with the warm lights of dawn and sunset, it suffers tremendously the flare so much that it has to avoid it accurately, walking so often, it often happens that the zoom gets annoying (buta mechanical lock) and when it comes to catching animals on the fly, moving, the autofocus is so slow that most of the time the animal has run away and you still have to shoot. Despite all its limitations, I like it, I'm more than happy and I could only change it with the 14-100 PRO but it costs exactly twice ...
sent on 04 Settembre 2017 Pros: Dimensions, sharpness up to 100-120mm, Weight, versatility, Autofocus. Cons: Nothing that is not already known: not very bright (it is already known at purchase), sharpness at very high focal lengths. Opinion: I bought it as a handyman for my M5 mark II and I must say that it did not disappoint my expectations. For about the same price at the time I bought in my kit Canon, the equivalent Sigma 18-200 contemporary, paid more or less the same price as this, but I must say that there is really no comparison.rnAutofocus is always fast and precise, even in low light conditions. I use it for a while and rarely could not focus. The Sigma made me damn.rnThe sharpness is really good up to 100-120, after there is a bit 'of degradation. Nothing alarming, I took good pictures even at 150mm.rnOf course is a bit 'scuretto, but this is something known from the technical data, not a defect.rnThe construction seemed good, it is very solid.rnrnHere my full review: https://www.mondomirrorless.it/2018/04/07/recensione-olympus-14-150mm-f-4-5-6-tuttofare/rnrnVoto: 9.rn
sent on 18 Agosto 2017 Pros: Compact, handy, crisp, tropicalized. Cons: - Max. F / 4-5.6 diaphragm is an extremely compact lens. Using the camera flash (Olympus o-md e-m10 mark ii), the lens shadow appears in the photo for the most wide-angle focal lengths . Opinion: I bought this lens together with the car (olympus o-md e-m10 mark ii) in November 2015 and can not disassemble it ... it's a handyman I always have behind and that thanks to the stabilization of the car body does not make me feel Too flawed for diaphragms f / 4-5.6.rnI have not had any problems with the ergonomics that I find excellent, walking disappears in my hand, I do not even have to wear the camera on the shoulder strap.rn its weigh is perfect for walking, going up and down By public transport, with my car body disappearing and reappears in the bag or backpack at the moment.rnI used it in the rain without the slightest problem.rn the hood (supplied) mounted to the reverse not from problems with the zoom while for the mass Manual focus must be disassembled. Rn I've never had excessive problems in focusing on the night. Rn What is missing? Nothing.rn my vote? 9
sent on 29 Novembre 2016 Pros: Compactness and lightness considered the 28-300mm equivalent focal, weather sealing, ergonomics. Cons: Not excellent sharpness over 100mm, sufficient brightness, lack zoom lock. Opinion: I chose this point to have an all-around in the mountain walks, where you have the need to do a scene with wide angle, how can you have the need to photograph a 100 meters away deer. In the field of versatility so excels beyond comparison. At longer focal it lose some sharpness, but it is always much more than acccettabili levels. The only drawback that drives me crazy is the lack of zoom lock (present instead in the Tamron 14-150 which is not weather sealed): in the mountains harbor the camera hanging by a special support to the walls and on time after a while 'I find myself way with the zoom all extended downward. I noticed, however, that going walking in the most inaccessible places, while walking on trails or roads fairly even jokes this phenomenon greatly decreases. Excellent value for money, will never take away from my "arsenal".
sent on 24 Settembre 2016 Pros: Compact, light, crisp, tropical conditions. Cons: For me not very bright especially in the early morning and at dusk, however, it is used. Autofocus unresponsive with moving subjects. Opinion: A good lens used with Oly omd em 5 first series. Its compactness helps to want to always carry your camera when you go quietly walking aimlessly (unfortunately less and less!). It covers from 28 to 300 mm equivalent to FF and has a good definition even at extreme excursions. Not very bright but still usable even in low light (not little) .The yield with good light is excellent. It used even under pouring water without subsequent problems (thankfully !!!). If you purchased used excellent value for money for me.
| sent on 10 Gennaio 2016 Pros: Light, Sharp, Cons: just for outdoor or high exposure times Opinion: I am a new owner of an Olympus om-d E-10 Mark II and I sold all my equipment in my D7000 with Nikon 50mm 1.8 Tamron 70-200mm Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 2.8rned other lenses with various Flash to buy a light machine can be transported without clutter and with a goal of good handyman qualità.rnNon are a professional but for three years I did sports photos for Kart and Moto where I learned many things, especially photograph well things moving without stabilizer;) rnp.s . | sent on 11 Dicembre 2015 Pros: lightweight versatile, aperture f / 4-5.6 puts it in the middle of all these objectives do, tropical conditions and is resistant to splashes and dust, good image quality, the package also included the hood. Cons: improved in construction, in af paintings not always fast, but still acceptable. Opinion: Olympus to put on the market another update of this 14-150, more modern design and seals with splash and dust, but the construction of the lens remains the same, in my kit lens can not miss a whole do so, for the quality and light weight (about 300g) which gives me mounted on the E-M5dII in my long hikes in the mountains is good for me, combined with the backpack Photo Sport 200 AW in the 8mm fisheye lens Lumix, my vote is 9. |
sent on 10 Settembre 2015 Pros: lightweight. good definition. handyman. Cons: opening is not constant. not weather sealed Opinion: I'm not a great expert photographer for which they are not able to make many comparisons especially with other Micro4 / 3 while I know a little 'more goals Nikon SLR which I really appreciated when I accepted much iron below (= beautiful but very heavy). the versatility of this lens is remarkable. but also it weighs less.
sent on 05 Giugno 2015 Pros: Weight and focus, sharp and incisive enough, moderately priced (for a 28-300 as the focal 4/3 is multiplied by 2), constructively honest, tropical conditions. Cons: Construction definitely improved, missing the hood sold separately, US engine failure. Opinion: Everything I tried to do honest with the formula "touch and try" Olympus for three days. More than satisfactory results and no fact to do given the price. Compared with 28-300 Nikon VR (FF) it is certainly much stronger. It suffers a bit 'at maximum focal sull'AF but nothing serious. In summary a good lens honest and useful to leave the backpack fixed focal. The trial compared the type of use is definitely positive.
