Pros: The speed of the camera. The sensor. The image processing.

Cons: None for my purpose

Opinion: It's my first day with it. I have mounted a Contax Zeiss 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 (C/Y) lens on the camera. The lens has not a great reputation. I guess it was the kit lense for the Contax Aria. I want to try this combination for some reason out. And it works with Z7 II - better than with my Sony cameras. A 45 Megapixel camera which accepts a cheap lens. I'm extremely delighted. The camera is very nice. You can choose the best settings for image quality and the camera writes the file very fast to the SD card and is immediately ready for the next shot. How I have missed that! So I have bought a Z-Mount camera without being interested in Z-Lenses. I like the colours of Z7 II which fits well to my lenses. It's a true upgrade for me.

Pros: Dynamic range

Cons: The same as the Z6

Opinion: I switched from z6 to z7ii on a whim basically, he was 7 years old but he continued to behave well. The dynamic range and sharpness of the image at native iso are excellent, for me who use it only for landscape excellent the possibility of going beyond 30 seconds of exposure. Increasing iso immediately emerges noise that with the 24 MPx of the z6 did not appear, pass me the non-technicality, for example at iso 1000 with the same image size, or zooming to 100% the photo taken with the z6 and about 60% the photo with the z7II you see the same noise and level of detail, instead at 100% the photo of the z7II is much grainier. The second slot is good even if I never felt the need, the autofocus they say has improved but doing landscape even if it was manual focus the problem would not be there. Would I buy it again? for my use it is perfect but perhaps I would try the z6III just to feel that sense of novelty of a different camera body not for real needs

Pros: image quality, crop capability, no AA filter, ergonomics, light weight, Z optics

Cons: Autofocus not of the latest generation, limited number of physical buttons compared to previous reflexes, usability not always at maximum, tilting screen only horizontally

Opinion: I state that I come from a Nikon D7200 and that I mainly dedicate myself to landscape photography. The Nikon Z7II is undoubtedly a big step forward, especially thanks to its exceptional sensor and the extraordinary quality of the Z lenses. In landscape photography, this camera really comes into its own: the high-resolution sensor allows you to achieve incredible detail and excellent dynamic range. In addition, its pixel density allows it to crop down to APS-C format, while still maintaining about 20 megapixels — a significant advantage when you happen to devote yourself to wildlife or wildlife photography, even if only occasionally. The high ISO resistance is also good: the great resolution helps a lot in reducing noise in post-production, thanks to the level of detail that the camera is able to return. Moving on to the cons, there are several. The general impression is that the Z7II represents a still immature project for Nikon in the mirrorless field, then improved with subsequent models. The autofocus works well in good light conditions, but in low light it is less performing than that of the D7200. Even the typical functions of the mirrorless system, such as face recognition, are sometimes uncertain. It also lacks the advanced recognitions (animals, birds, etc.) introduced in newer Nikon models. However, I was aware of these limitations before the purchase and, considering my use, I do not consider them penalizing. I could have opted for a Z8, but I discarded it because it was too heavy and bulky for my taste. An aspect that disappointed me the most is that of usability, which in some ways I consider a step backwards compared to the D7200. Some examples: the shutter lag is deactivated every time the camera is turned off, there is no dedicated dial for shooting mode, no dedicated buttons for autofocus and bracketing (there are customizable FN buttons, but I would have liked at least one more), in User mode, the changes made (such as aperture or ISO) are not saved after the camera is turned off. All these aspects, although minor, represent a step backwards in terms of usability and practicality compared to the D7200. In conclusion, the Nikon Z7II remains an excellent camera, capable of doing practically anything, but with some operational limitations that make it more suitable for those looking for maximum image quality rather than versatility and operating speed.

Pros: Dynamic range, autofocus, raw products, mount z, ergonomics, ultra level!

Cons: Don't have it!

Opinion: Purchased as a successor to the D850, it has never disappointed me on any occasion. Fantastic menu like all nikon for that matter, everything at your fingertips and customizable. A d850 with even more improvements. Mount Z then.. What are we talking about?! Being able to use ANY lens of any brand thanks to the 16mm draft! Definitive!

Pros: Sensor, Portability, Dynamic Range, Menu, Focus Area

Cons: None at the moment

Opinion: Stunning high-performance machine in a decidedly lightweight body. I come from the d850, great machine, but a bit mature. The fast and silent focusing, the ability to focus on every subject in the field of view for the entire width of the display is extraordinary, the menu has even improved, the possibility of recharging without taking out the batteries, the extension of shutter speeds for long exposures are just some of the improvements compared to reflex cameras. The ergonomics are those of Nikon, there is no other brand like it. I haven't stressed her out as much as it should be yet, but I plan to do it soon. A beautiful product and, I repeat, in a small body. Sounds great to me. P.S. I forgot the i button: great. It allows you to change fundamental parameters during shooting without entering the menu.

Pros: Sensor, dynamic range, chrome capability

Cons: Battery life, Not always perfect, electronics hesitant

Opinion: Excellent machine, the only flaw is the battery not very performing (like all Mirrorless) but above all the electronics not reliable as could be the mechanics on the SLR. The reliability of a SLR will not be found on the Mirrorless of any brand. For the rest excellent landscape and portrait machine. Lightweight, with extensive dynamic range.

Pros: Dynamic range, resolution, weight, shutter speed extension.

Cons: Display not adjustable vertically.

Opinion: After about two and a half years I switched from Z to Zii and the choice was very thoughtful, but I think it was the best at the moment. I think the z and the Zii are among the best mirrorless for landscape photos that I do mainly. The dynamic range, the resolution, the colors it reproduces are in my opinion among the best ever, but one of the reasons that most interested me for this type of photo is the extension of the shutter speed, being able to expose up to 900 seconds without using various contraptions is fundamental for me in long exposure shots. So having the Z6ii and Z7ii with all Z mount optics, I think my kit is adequate for the type of photos I take.

Pros: resolution, weight, menu', af, video.

Cons: for now nothing, needs adequate lenses

Opinion: I've always had nikon SLR up to d 850, with the advent of ml I took a few years ago z6 and then return to d850, now I switched to z7ll and at first glance I was quite satisfied. I immediately replaced the zoom 24-70f4 with 24-70 f2.8z because 'it did not stand absolutely the comparison with my old equipment, I'm satisfied with the resolution, the speed' operating, the af, video compartment, finally I go out with a backpack' lighter, double slot etc. For now I'm quite satisfied although I still believe that as files and usable lenses d850 is superior. The lenses z I tried them all, the 24-70 2.8s and the 50mm z are two optics that fully solve that sensor, the f4 did not convince me even a little for the file and for the assembly. For now, however, I have not pulled out any photo that can compare it to d850 + zeiss optics or tamron f1.4 as a general rendering and realism and I think it is more 'a speech of optics. we'll see and update' in the future maybe after a bit of tests even with ftz.

Pros: Resolution, EVF, Weight and footprint, Bayonet Z, weight

Cons: Price, double slot with two different formats, sharpness issues with "cheap" F-Mount lenses

Opinion: Taken in December to replace the Z6 first series (taking advantage of Nital's supervaluation), I was pleasantly satisfied. All the improvements they have made are "under the hood" but you can perceive all of them. Starting from the new AI for Autofocus, finally at the height of a product of this range. Of course the sensor so "dense" made me set aside some F-mount optics that I used with dignity on the D610 and Z6, but if the premises for the new bayonet are those of the Nikkor 24-70 f/4, we are faced with a really fantastic pairing both for sharpness and speed of autofocus. Being a mirrorless there are some things that purists of (D)SLR will find difficult to digest (on all Autofocus assisted by AI which, even giving up eye tracking and other advanced features has a more complex behavior to interpret), but undoubtedly it is an important technological leap in some ways comparable to the transition from film to digital. And the difference in weight is felt, not only in the Suitcase.

Pros: Silent, electronic viewfinder, menus that reflect the SLRs and last but last but perhaps the most important menu i.

Cons: No one at the moment

Opinion: I was used to certainly bulky machines (D3 and later) the first time you have in your hands... was a little perplexed given its very different weight from my other machines not last the D850 with battery grip, here.... if the Z7 is used with adapter ring and F optics on my behalf you have a forward imbalance..... I just could I completed it all with battery grip...... even if it costs an eye, but this is just my habit of having an "important" body in my hands. The Z7II is versatile, absolute clarity with the 24/70 f2.8 S.... countless possibilities of settings on both people and animals, with the possibility of having three personalized and pre-set menus changing to the need in a moment. It was hard to abandon the reflex..... but I'm not regretting everything else. Small update.... there is no user manual of the Z7 II... you have to make do with that of the Z7 where unfortunately fundamental parts are missing.... focus on the eye of people/animals and at the time detail of the battery grip controls.... you have to adapt with the one in English..... now I understand the paper manual that is not there, but at least online that it is in Italian...... dunno. Update: I don't know if it depends on the Z7 or whether it's an ml, but the maf doesn't seem like lightning to me, does anyone have the same impression?

Pros: Electronic viewfinder, quick menus, possibility of customization of menus, important variety of MAF systems, ergonomics and weight.

Cons: the display that can only be extracted and oriented for horizontal photos. If you shoot vertically, very low, you are forced to throw yourself on the ground.

Opinion: I recently owned this beautiful camera and come from a D850, so I dare say a respectable car. The Z7II immediately conquered me, for its ergonomics and for its fantastic menus. I admit that I was afraid, as the D850 has complete and well-positioned configuration buttons for quick use, well, the Z7II's "i" button was a wonderful surprise. It is possible to customize it in all ways and you can see it on the monitor but also inside the electronic viewfinder to modify it even during the shooting session without moving your head. There are also many MAF modes that I believe can cover all photographic specialties, for example I was impressed by the "lock on" chase on action photos, going so far as to customize even the 2 M1 and M2 buttons just to quickly switch between modes during the session. It has an incredible "H+" mode burst and especially with the typical mirrorless silence excellent in birdlife. For now I only have the native 24-70 2.8 for Z's, but the adapter quietly use all my old Nikon designed and also the classic 150-600 SIGMA without any problems. The overall weight, using the 24-70 is great, my backpack has lightened a lot. I am very satisfied, a step I should have taken earlier.
